In this study seismic response of a base-isolated bridge for soil types is compared. Bilinear model is used for lead rubber bearing(LRB). Accelerograms whose response spectrum matches the design spectrum for soil types are used as earthquake ground excitation. Nonlinear time history analyses using the SAP2000 program is performed. The results show that seismic response of a base-isolated bridge is increased as the soil becomes soft.

We show the existence of smooth isolated curves of different degrees and genera in Calabi-Yau threefolds that are complete intersections in homogeneous spaces. Along the way, we classify all degrees and genera of smooth curves on BN general K3 surfaces of genus ${\mu}$, where $5{\leq}{\mu}{\leq}10$. By results of Mukai, these are the K3 surfaces that can be realised as complete intersections in certain homogeneous spaces.

We have calculated differential reflection coefficient for isolated well structure of micro-scale, etched on dielectric surface. The differential reflection coefficient is computed using Green's second integral theorem. The purpose of our computation is to find a class of well profiles which give maximal diffusive scattering. To have such a maximal effect, we have concluded that the waist radius of Gaussian beam and its wavelength should be comparable to the well width and that well depth has to be larger than a wavelength. Exact calculation of differential reflection coefficients of dielectric surface with isolated structure on it may be used for the examination of dielectric surfaces and also in making simple but efficient diffuser.

The effect of Panaquilon (Partial Component of Panax ginseng), on the isolated clam heart, the motility of the isolated clam heart suspended in physiological solution for clam heart was recorded by the Magnus Method. 1. The concentration of $5{\times}10^{-6}$ of Panaquilon produced cardiac arrest in the diastolic state, which resumed the normal state slowly after changing the physiological solution for clam heart. 2. Cardiac arresting action of Panaquilon was antagonistic when pretreated with Serotonin.

This Paper Presents the design automation for isolated DC-DC converters. Isolated DC-DC converts have many advantages such as protection, wide range variation, and multiple output. Prosedures consist of several steps. There are the selection of converter topology, the selection of switching devices. the calculation for the value of inductances and capacitances, and the design of transformers. We verified it with many practical examples from databooks.

In the course of continous work on tubers of Gastrodia elata, a new constituent was isolated from the ethyl acetate soluble fraction prepared from the methanol extract. The structure of the compound was identified as ${\alpha},{\alpha}'-[bis-2-(5-carboxaldehydo)furanyl]-dimethyl$ ether from the elemental analytical and spectroscopic data. This compound was once isolated from Cirsium chlorolepis and named as cirsiumaldehyde. This is the first furan type compound isolated from Gastrodia elata.

We give an analytic approach to the versal deformation of a resolution of a germ of normal isolated singularities. In this paper, we treat only formal deformation theory and it is applied to complete the CR-description of the simultaneous resolution of a cone eve. a rational curve of degree n in P$^{n}$ (n $\leq$ 4).

From the herbs of this plant, six compounds were isolated and their structures were characterized as dieicosyl ether (1), scopoletin (2), ${\alpha}-spinasterol-3-O-{\beta}-D-glucopyranoside$ (3), kaempferol (4), quercetin (5), and quercetin 7, 3', 4'-trimethylether-3-O-rutinoside (6) by chemical and spectroscopic evidences. These compounds were isolated for the first time from this plant and compound 6 was first isolated from nature.

Conventional double DES has been not only shown to have a vulnerable drawback to attack method called 'Meet-in-the-Middle', but also to be hard to use that it is because software implementation has a number of problem in real time processing. This paper describes the design and implementation of modified Isolated double DES algorithm using VHDL for resolving the above problems. In this approach, we also discuss an efficient method for increasing cipher strength through expansion of key length.

Alisol B(II) and alisol B monoacetate (III) isolated from the rhizome of Alisma orientale Jazepczuk (Alismataceae) showed antagonistic effects against the contractions induced by angiotensin and bradykinin in rat ileum. However, they seem to be nonspecific antagonism.
