  • Power efficiency management in smart farms is important due to its link to climate change. As climate change negatively impacts agriculture, future agriculture is expected to utilize smart farms to minimize climate impacts, but smart farms' power consumption may exacerbate the climate crisis due to the current electricity production system. Therefore, it is essential to efficiently manage and optimize the power usage of smart farms. In this study, we propose a system that monitors the power usage of smart farm equipment in real time and predicts the power usage one hour later using GRU. CT sensors are installed to collect power usage data, which are analyzed to detect and prevent abnormal patterns, and combined with IoT technology to efficiently manage and monitor the overall power usage. This helps to optimize power usage, improve energy efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions. The system is expected to improve not only the energy management of smart farms, but also the overall efficiency of energy use.

  • We examined the relationship between the extent of Facebook usage and social well-being with consideration of cyberbullying involvement using a person-oriented approach. Survey data were collected from a sample of 312 secondary students from Grades 7 and 8 in Hong Kong. Levels of cyberbullying involvement, Facebook usage and perceived social support were investigated. Participants were classified into three clusters based on the different levels of Facebook usage and cyberbullying victimization through cluster analyses (i.e., frequent Facebook user/noncyberbullied victim, frequent Facebook user/cyberbullied victim, and uninvolved). Our results showed that frequent Facebook users who are cyberbullied tend to engage in cyberbullying perpetration significantly more than the frequent Facebook users who are not cyberbullied, even when the latter reported higher Facebook usage. This result provides some support for the idea that cyberbullying victimization has additional value on top of the level of usage in explaining one's participation in cyberbullying perpetration. As expected, frequent Facebook users who were not cyberbullied reported the highest perceived social support among the three groups. What is even more interesting is the equal level of perceived social support found between the cyberbullied victims and the uninvolved. Our results suggest that, although limiting adolescents' Internet use might reduce their risks of being involved in cyberbullying, it might also take away the potential benefits they could get from interacting with the online community. Benefits of using the person-oriented approach in the study of cyberbullying are discussed.

  • As education environment is changing rapidly and competition of education industry is more intensive, the importance of service view about education is increasing as a differential competitive advantage. This study attempted to investigate the impact of service convenience as a different competitive advantage on e-learning acceptance by using TAM. The purpose of this study is to examine how five-dimensional service convenience constructs(decision convenience, access convenience, transaction convenience, benefit convenience, post-benefit convenience) affect consumers' perceived usefulness, attitude and usage intention. For this study, data were gathered from respondents who bought or used e-learning services and analyzed by structural equation model. Among the five-dimensional service convenience constructs, two constructs(benefit convenience, post-benefit convenience) affected consumers' positive perceived usefulness, attitude and usage intention about e-learning service. The results show that management and investment to improve benefit and post-benefit service convenience make consumers' positive attitude and usage intention about e-learning service.

  • A study of domestic furniture arrangements may reveal the living style relevant to the room as conceived and coded by occupants and the effects of the physical environment on the structure of behavior settings. The purpose of this study was to investigate, through analizing the furniture usage and behavior as a non-reactive and activity oriented behavioral measures, the occupants` domestic habits as a living style using MDS. MDS(multidimensional scaling technique) is a statistical technique for creating a spatial representation of data. It Is a particularly appropriate technique for analizing qualitative data such as the furniture usage and behavior because it takes into account all of the relationships between items. For the MDS analysis, the furniture usage and behavior examined by housing types based on 114 households in Seoul. The result of spatial configuration by MDS has three dimensions : recogn;lion of room function, pattern of room organization, understanding of room meaning. The effect of housing types for dimensions is identical but configuration of furniture items is different.
