  • Up to now, sea sand without complete removal of salt is being used in the construction works because there is little satisfactory counterplan for the substitute aggregate. In the case that such sea sand is used in the reinforced concrete, the residual salt gives rise to deterioration phenmenon and iron corrosion, reducing durability of the ferro-concrete structures. The paper, an experimental study on the effect of corrosion protection by tighting concrete used SF and FA, is to investigate general steel bar's corrosion and to develop concrete using sea sand economically after it is analyzed and examinated ratio of the corrosion area affected by the autoclave cycle. As a test results, as for corrosion area ratio, it is very effective to use admixrutes such as SF and FA which decrease corrosion area remarkably with increasing the amounts of admixtures. Accordingly the use of admixtures is advantageous for tightening concrete and has an effect of salt damage prevention and rust protection in concrete used sea sand.

Hydrogen Storage Property Comparison of Pure Mg and Iron (III) Oxide-Added Mg Prepared by Reactive Mechanical Grinding

  • The activation of Mg-10 wt%$Fe_2O_3$ was completed after one hydriding-dehydriding cycle. Activated Mg-10 wt%$Fe_2O_3$ absorbed 5.54 wt% H for 60 min at 593 K under 12 bar $H_2$, and desorbed 1.04 wt% H for 60 min at 593 K under 1.0 bar $H_2$. The effect of the reactive grinding on the hydriding and dehydriding rates of Mg was weak. The reactive grinding of Mg with $Fe_2O_3$ is believed to increase the $H_2$-sorption rates by facilitating nucleation (by creating defects on the surface of the Mg particles and by the additive), by making cracks on the surface of Mg particles and reducing the particle size of Mg and thus by shortening the diffusion distances of hydrogen atoms. The added $Fe_2O_3$ and the $Fe_2O_3$ pulverized during mechanical grinding are considered to help the particles of magnesium become finer. Hydriding-dehydriding cycling is also considered to increase the $H_2$-sorption rates of Mg by creating defects and cracks and by reducing the particle size of Mg.

Mo가 고크롬주철의 조직 및 경도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Mo on the Microstructure and Hardness in High Chromium Cast Irons)

  • In high chromium cast iron, the control of matrix microstructure as well as carbide structure is important to the performance as a wear resistant material. In this study, 3.0% C-24.0% Cr white cast irons with various molybdenum contents(residual, 1.0%, 3.0% and 5.0%) were solidified conventionally and unidirectionally for studying their effects on the microstructure and hardness. In the conventional casting, two sets of castings were poured from each melt. One set of the castings consisted of cylindrical bars of 10 and 20mm by 155mm long. The second set of the castings was a cylindrical bar of 30mm by 200mm long. On the other hand, a pep-set mold set on the Cu plate was employed to make the solidification unidirectionally. X-ray diffraction method was used to observe retained austenite and carbides in the high chromium cast iron. The morphology of eutectic $M_7C_3$ carbides changed from needle-like type to nodular type with the increase of Mo content. And, the presence of $M_2C$ carbides was identified in the sample where Mo was added over 3.0 %. Primary and eutectic carbides appeared as rod type and corngrain type, respectively in the unidirectionally solidified samples which were cut to parallel to the solidification direction. In the EDX analysis, Cr concentration was higher in the primary and eutectic $M_7C_3$ carbides, Mo in the $M_2C$ carbides, and Fe in the matrix.

한국(韓國)의 청동탑(靑銅塔)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Korean Bronze Pagoda)

  • The first Pagoda of Korea was introduced from China, and adapted from the wooden multi-storied pavilion. Also in Bronze one, multi-storied type of wooden pagoda was adapted. Bronze pagoda was used to buddhist ossuary and a kind of metalwork. Metalworks were made of gold, silver, copper, or iron by one of the methods of production-casting or hammering and decorated design of incision, raise, openwork, gold- plating or inlaying with gold and silver. Sometimes it was used as the easy carriage of Buddha image by guess. In most cases, the plan of Bronze pagoda was square and podium was one story. but in the advance of podium two-storied platform appeared. Column appeared in a symbol, so it didn't appear in a square and circular form. It means that the column was vertical member which only divided the wall. In koryo period, Gabled roof and Half-hipped roof was spreaded in public but Bronze pagoda was used to square Hipped roof. Vertical shaft over roof(上輪部), apart from body of pagoda(塔身部), was inserted on the hole above the Bokbal(覆鉢) for the balance of pagoda. And a thick iron bar put in the roof to the platform. It was sustained the balance of pagoda. The stories of pagoda were various from 3rd stories to 9, the lower stories was larger scale and the higher was smaller one.

회주철의 미세구조와 인장거동 분석 및 확률론적 피로수명평가 (Microstructure, Tensile Strength and Probabilistic Fatigue Life Evaluation of Gray Cast Iron)

  • 보통회주철(GC300)에 Cr, Mo, Cu 첨가제를 넣어 고급 회주철(HCI350)을 제작하고, 미세 조직과 기계적 물성치, 피로강도의 변화를 연구하였다. 주철을 환봉형과 평판형 주물로 제작하였으며, 이들을 절단 및 연마하여 나이탈 수용액으로 에칭한 후 미세조직의 면적비율을 측정하였다. 첨가물에 의해 편상 흑연결정(flake graphite)의 크기가 감소하고 고밀 펄라이트 함량이 증가하여 인장강도, 피로강도의 향상이 확인되었다. 피로시험 결과 획득한 피로수명 데이터를 바탕으로 최우추정법이 적용된 2모수 와이블 분포를 이용하여 확률-응력-수명 곡선을 산출하였다. 확률-응력-수명곡선 산출 결과 HCI350은 GC300에 비해 피로강도는 크게 개선되었고 수명데이터의 분산성은 낮아졌으나, 피로응력완화에 따른 피로수명의 증가가 크게 나타났다. 산출된 확률-응력-수명 곡선을 이용하여 요구수명 사이클 수에 대한 허용응력 값을 정량적으로 제시함으로써 신뢰성 수명설계에 위한 기초자료를 제시하였다.

거주지내 아동의 놀이 장소와 놀이 시설의 이용실태 (The Actual Conditions of Children' Utilization of Playing Fields and Playing Facilities within their Residential Area)

  • The purposes of this study are to investigate the present conditions of children' Practical use of playing fields and playing facilities within their residential area, and to provide essential data relavant to building outdoor playing field for children which are fitted with children’ developmental features and also are corresponding to their needs. The subjects for this study were 866 children of the 2nd. 4th, and 6th grade living in Taegu. Data were gathered through questionnaires and analyzed by frequencies, percentile, and Chi-Sqaure test. The main results of this study are as follows : Firstly, it was found that the Playing fields children preferred most was 'within their house'. In terms of frequency making use of outdoor Playing fields. 'do not use' held the hightest proportion of children. Second, the playing facility in playing fields, being most frequently used by children, was a slide, following it a swing and a horizontal iron bar took the second, the third place respectively.

다합금계 백주철에 있어서 Cr, V, Mo 및 W가 응고조직에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Cr, V, Mo and W on Solidefication Structure of Multi-Component White Cast Iron)

  • 다합금계백주철의 성분원소인 Cr, V, Mo 및 W 의 첨가량을 변화시켜 응고조직을 관찰하였다. MC탄화물은 초정 austenite dendrite 내에 괴상 및 구상으로 M7C3탄화물은 intercellular boundary에 꽃형태 또는 bar 형태로, 그리고 M2C 탄화물은 M7C3탄화물과 마찬가지로 intercellular boundary에 침상으로 정출하였다. 기지조직은 주방상태에서 pealite 또는 (pearlite + austenite)의 혼합조직으로 구성되어 있었으며, 또한 EPMA 분석결과 MC탄화물은 V, M7C3 탄화물은 Cr 그리고 M2C탄화물은 Mo 및 W가 주성분으로 되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 냉각곡선을 측정한 결과 액상에서 MC, M7C3, M2C 순으로 공정반응이 일어나고 있었으며 또한 X-선 회절시험을 통해 각 탄화물의 회절 peak를 관찰하였는바 응고조직의 사진과 잘 일치하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, the solenoid for high-voltage circuit breaker which is composed of bobbin, solenoid coil, stationary core and plunger was studied. The solenoid is made of a soft magnetic iron bar with a large number of coil windings. when an electric current passes through this, this stationary core becomes the strong magnet used for hydraulic and pneumatic valve of a solenoid operated valve. For the performance evaluation of the solenoid for high-voltage circuit breaker, electromagnetic characteristics and dynamic characteristics were analyzed. And, the parameters which is related to performance improvement were investigated.

Corrosion of rebar in carbon fiber reinforced polymer bonded reinforced concrete

  • Several reinforced concrete structures that get deteriorated by rebar corrosion are retrofitted using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP). When rebar comes in direct contact with CFRP, rebar may corrode, as iron is more active than carbon. Progression of corrosion of rebar in strengthened RC structures has been carried out when rebar comes in direct contact with CFRP. The experimentation is carried out in two phases. In phase I, corrosion of bare steel bar is monitored by making its contact with CFRP. In phase II, concrete specimens with surface bonded CFRP were casted and subjected to the realistic exposure conditions keeping direct contact between rebar and CFRP. Progression of corrosion has been monitored by various parameters: Half-cell potential, Tafel extrapolation and Linear Polarisation Resistance. On termination of exposure, to find residual bond stress between rebar and concrete, pull-out test was performed. Rebar in contact with CFRP has shown substantially higher corrosion. The level of corrosion will be more with more area of contact.

  • 이 논문은 철근 가공 산업 현장에서 스프레드쉬트에 의해 수작업으로 행하던 절단 작업의 계획 수립을 자동화된 시스템에 의해 최적의 절단 계획을 생성하도록 하는 소프트웨어의 개발을 다룬다. 이를 위하여, 먼저 시스템의 데이터 표현과 최적 문제 풀이를 위한 자동 계획 알고리듬의 설계가 요구된다. 이것은 다중 규격의 1차원 자재 절단 문제를 푸는 것으로, 동적계획법에 근거하여 자재 절단 문제를 재구성하고, 유한 범위의 조합 열에서도 근사 최적의 해를 찾을 수 있는 탐색 기법을 사용한 자재 절단 계획 알고리듬을 사용하였다. 그리고, 자동화된 철근 가공 산업용 소프트웨어는 작업 환경에 맞게 사용이 편리한 그래픽 화면과 사용자 인터페이스가 요구되는데, 공개 소프트웨어를 활용한 GUI 라이브러리 툴킷인 GTK+를 활용하여 이를 구현하였다.
