This study was to investigate interaction between ionization rate and absorption rate of calcium(Ca) in each feeding Ca sources in rats. The results were as follows. 1. The ionized Ca ions 134 into rats were absorbed in about two hours while Ca from other sources like powdered egg-shell Ca or precipitable Ca carbonate caused more than five hours to be absorbed. This means that the ionization of Ca is essential for the fast absorption in rat. 2. Absorption rate were increased in the rank order to brown rice vinegar-Ca acetate > brewed vinegar-Ca acetate > precipitated Ca carbonate > egg-shell Ca powder by feeding sources in rat and absorption rate of brown rice vinegar Ca was appeared 4 times highly than egg-shell Ca powder. 3. Absorption rate of brewed vinegar Ca acetate were appeared excellent, 1.4 times highly in case of the brewed vinegar at no ventilation condition than ventilation condition. 4. Ca concentration in blood serum was significantly enhanced the increased ionization rate of Ca in the above experiment rat models regardless of dietary Ca levels.

We experienced a case of partial DiGeorge syndrome in a $35^{+5}$ week premature female infant presented with micrognathia, fish-shaped mouth, beaked nose, nasal regurgitation, obstructive sleep apnea, velopharyngeal insufficiency and late onset hypocalcemic seizures. The chromosome 22q11 microdeletion was found by the FISH method. The lab findings showed serum calcium level of 4.4 mg/dL, ionized calcium level of 0.49 mg/dL, phosphorous level of 7.5 mg/dL, magnesium level of 1.3 mg/dL and PTH-RIA level of <1 pq/mL. Initial treatment was done with 10% calcium gluconate infusion and magnesium sulfate followed by oral calcium gluconate and low phosphorousformula milk feeding. The serum calcium level was normalized in 6 days. Nasal regurgitation, desaturation with obstructive sleep apnea continued. T-cell functions & numbers(CD 3, CD 4, CD 8)were decreased but Ig G/A/M levels were normal. No visible signs of thymus shadow were seen in either chest X-ray & chest MRI. Electrocardiography and echocardiography showed normal heart. Kidney ultrasonographby showed right side mild hydronephrosis. Neurosonography was normal but EEG showed electrical partial seizure. Hearing assessment by BERA showed mild to moderate hearing impairment. Velopharyngoplasty is scheduled for further treatment. A brief review of literature was made.
Dietary and other factors affecting bone density of 32 Korean healthy college women aged 19-23 years were assessed. Data for food and nutrient intake was obtained by a semiquantitiative food frequency questionnaire. Serum samples were anlayzed for total Ca, P, Ca++, PTH, calcitonin and 25-hydroxycholecalciferol , (25-OH-Vit D3) and BMDs of lumbar spine(L2-L4), femoral neck(FN), ward's triangle (WT) and trochanter(TR) were measured by an XR-series X-ray bone densitometer. Relationships between the factors and BMDs were analyzed by stepwise multiple regression analysis and Pearson's correlation coefficient(r). The results are summarized as follows. Mean daily intake of energy(86.1%), Ca(74.3%), vitamin A (53.75), Fe(49.75) and vitamin B$_2$(86.6%) were lower while other notrients incuding P(126%) were higher than the Korean RDA. The BMDs of lumbar spines and femurs ranged from 0.73g/$\textrm{cm}^2$ to 1.23g/$\textrm{cm}^2$and 0.48g/$\textrm{cm}^2$ to 1.04g/$\textrm{cm}^2$, respectively. Both protein and P intakes were inversely associated with serum total Ca. Furthermore, Ca intake as well as Ca/P ratio (Ca/P) were inversely associated with serum ionized Ca(Ca++) concentration. The intakes of protein P and Ca , however, were not significantly associated with the BMDs measured in this study. There were little association between BMDs and alcoholic beverage or caffeine consumption. The only significant association detected was a positive relationship between caffeine consumption and BMD of WT. It seemed to be noticeable that BMDs of L2-L$_4$, FN and WT were significantly inversely associated with serum P concentration. However, there was no significant association between BMDs and the levels of total Ca to Ca++ in serum. Body weight was positively associated with BMD of lumbar spine and BMI was also positively associated with BMDs of FN and WT. The subjects who had an early menarche appeared to have higher BMDs than those who had had a late mearche. According to stepwise multiple regression analysis. Menarche and BMI were stronger determinants of BMDs in the young women than was diet. P intake appeared to be a more potent dietary determinant than Ca intake. The three factors, menarche, BMI , and P intake , additionally accounted for 24% and 378% of the variance in BMDs of FN and L$_2$-L$_4$, respectively. Further investigation is necessary to determine the factors needed to increase serum P level which negatively affects. BMD in young Korean college women.

In this study, the dispersion ability of powder in low viscosity solubilization system that depends on variety and amount of additives and powders was investigated. A PMMA powder shows outstanding dispersion ability because of its repulsive force of partially charged chain and low density of porous structure. A sample, which contains salts, showed better dispersion tendency than a sample without any additives. The dispersion ability was quantity of salts dependent. Furthermore, a sample with divalent ion salts, like $MgSO_4$, showed better dispersion tendency than that of monovalent ion salts, like NaCl or KCl. The reason for the better dispersion tendency was due to the existence of ionized salts around the powders which significantly improves repulsive force between powders and consequently reduces powder aggregation. The sample with chelating agent, like EDTA as an additive, had improved dispersion ability. EDTA chelates and blocks metal cation therefore anion's character is maximized and repulsive force between powders is improved. As a result, salts and EDTA help to improve the powder dispersion ability and the stability of product.
BN films composed of c-BN(70%) and h-BN(30%) phases have been synthesized by the ion beam assisted deposition (IBAD) process and stabilized by post-annealing. Boron was e-beam evaporated at 1.2 $\AA$/sec and nitrogen was ionized and accelerated at about 100 eV by the end-hall type ion gun. Substrates were negatively biased by DC 400 and 500 V, respectively, and heated at $700^{\circ}C$. Synthesized BN films were in-situ post-annealed at 700 or $800^{\circ}C$, respectively, for 1 hr without breaking vacuum. BN films without post-annealing were peeled off from substrates immediately when they were exposed to the air while those with post-annealing at $800^{\circ}C$ were stabilized. Post annealing reduced the film stress from 4.9 GPa to 3.4 GPa, but no considerable stress release in the c-BN phase was observed, contrary to previous reports that the stress relaxation in the c-BN phase is the main mechanism for the stabilization. Structural and chemical relaxation of non c-BN phase is supposed to be responsible for the film stress reduction and, in turn, stabilization, especially when the c-Bn content of the film is not high.
In order to investigate the daily deposition characteristics of water-soluble inorganic components in airborne deposit on the Iksan, deposition samples were collected using a deposition gauge from October 16 to November 1, 2004. Deposition samples were collected using two different sampling gauges, a dry gauge and a wet gauge, respectively. To get wet the bottom of wet gauge during the sampling period, the volume of $30{\sim}50ml$ distilled ionized water was added in a wet gauge before the beginning of each deposition sampling. Deposition samples were collected twice a day and analyzed for inorganic water-soluble anions ($Cl^-,\;{NO_3}^-,\;{SO_4}^{2-}$) and cations (${NH_4}^+,\;Na^+,\;K^+,\;Mg^{2+},\;Ca^{2+}$) using ion chromatography. Qualify control and quality assurance of analytical data were checked by the data obtained from reinjection of standard solution, Dionex cross check standard solutions, and random several deposition samples, and measured data was estimated to be reliable. Considering the deposition sample volume, the sampling time, the surface area of sampling container, and the ion concentration measured, the daily deposition amounts for measured ions were calculated in $mg/m^2$. The total daily deposition amounts of all measured ions for dry and wet gauge were $7.5{\pm}2.8$ and $17.7{\pm}4.2mg/m^2$, respectively. A significant increase in deposition amount during rainfall days was observed for both wet gauge and dry gauge, having no difference of deposition amount between in wet gauge and in dry gauge. The mean deposition of all ions measured in this study were higher in wet gauge than in dry gauge because of the surface difference of the sampling container, especially for ${NH_4}^+\;and\;{SO_4}^{2-}$. The mean deposition amounts of ${NH_4}^+\;and\;{SO_4}^{2-}$ in wet gauge were found to be about 10 times and 3 times higher than those in dry gauge, while the rest of the chemical species were equal or a little higher in wet gauge than in dry gauge. Dominant species in dry gauge were ${NO_3}^-\;and\;Ca^{2+}$, accounting for 21% and 28% of the total ion deposition, whereas those in wet gauge were ${SO_4}^{2-}\;and\;{NH_4}^+$, accounting for 19% and 41% of the total ion deposition, respectively.

The fundamental experiments for measuring soft x-ray characteristics from the vacuum capillary are described. These experiments were primarily performed in order to generate line spectra such as x-ray lasers. The generator consists of a high-voltage power supply, a polarity-inversion ignitron pulse generator, a turbo-molecular pump, and a radiation tube with a capillary. A high-voltage condenser of 200 nF in the pulse generator is charged up to 20 kV by the power supply, and the electric charges in the condenser are discharged to the capillary in the tube after closing the ignitron. During the discharge, weakly ionized plasma forms on the inner and outer sides of a capillary. In the present work, the pump evacuates air from the tube with a pressure of about 1 mPa, and a demountable capillary was developed in order to measure x-ray spectra according to changes in the capillary length. In this capillary, the anode (target) and cathode elements can be changed corresponding to the objectives. The capillary diameter is 2.0 mm, and the length is adjusted from 1 to 50 mm. When a capillary with aluminum anode and cathode electrodes was employed, both the cathode voltage and the discharge current almost displayed damped oscillations. The peak values of the voltage and current increased when the charging voltage was increased, and their maximum values were -10.8 kV and 4.7 kA, respectively. The x-ray durations observed by a 1.6 ${\mu}$m aluminum filter were less than 30 ${\mu}$s, and we detected the aluminum characteristic x-ray intensity using a 6.8 ${\mu}$m aluminum filter. In the spectrum measurement, two sets of aluminum and titanium electrodes were employed, and we observed multi-line spectra. The line photon energies seldom varied according to changes in the condenser charging voltage and to changes in the electrode element. In the case where the titanium electrode was employed, the line number decreased with corresponding decreases in the capillary length. Compared with incoherent visible light, these rays from the capillary were diffracted and diffused greatly after passing through two slits.

This research scrutinizes the reason of failure after pressure cooker test (PCT) for DRAM device. We use the physical inspecting tools, such as microscope, SEM and TEM, and finally find the discolor phenomenon, corrosion of Al and delamination of inter-metal dielectric (IMD) in the failed devices after PCT. Furthermore, we discover the abnormal $Al_XO_Y$ layer on Al through the careful additional measurements. To find the reason, we evaluate the effect of package ball size and pinhole in passivation layer. Unfortunately, those aren't related to the problems. We also estimate halide effect of Al. The halogens such like Cl are contained within EMC material. Those result in the slight improving of PCT characteristics but do not perfectly solve the problems. We make a hypothesis of Galvanic corrosion. We can find the residue of Ti at the edge of pad open area. We can see the improving the PCT characteristics by the time split of repair etch. The possible mechanism of the PCT failure can be deduced as such following sequence of reactions. The remained Ti reacts on the pad Al by Galvanic corrosion. The ionized Al is easily react with the $H_2O$ supplied under PCT environment, and finally transfers to the abnormal $Al_XO_Y$ layer.

We investigated that changes of survival rate and hematological factors in sevenband grouper (Epinephelus septemfasciatus), exposed to ammonia. First, the fish was exposed and was observed survival rate. We observed the survival rate of the fish when exposed at each ammonia concentrations (0, 0.35, 0.4, 0.5, 0.8 mg/L, $NH_3$) for 96 hours. The 96-h $LC_{50}$ (lethal ambient concentration for 50% of the population) of $NH_4^+$ and un-ionized ammonia ($NH_3$) for sevenband grouper were 26.7 and 0.6 mg/L, respectively. Secondly, we exposed the fish to 96-h $LC_{50}$ ammonia concentration (0.6 mg/L) for 96 hours, then sampled the blood of groupers for analysis of cortisol, glucose, $NH_3$, GOT, GPT, total protein (TP), electrolytes ($Na^+$, $Cl^-$) and osmolality in plasma. The plasma cortisol, glucose, GOT and GPT were increased with increasing of elapsed time and ammonia concentration. In addition, the $NH_3$ and total protein in plasma were significantly increased to 12 hours exposed to ammonia, and then decreased. But, the values were significantly higher than the control. The plasma electrolytes ($Na^+$, $Cl^-$) and osmolality were decreased with increasing of elasped time. The results in the present study suggest that the continuous exposure of ammonia to juveniles of sevenband grouper may be a stressor and negative influence.
To investigate the effects of cow manure compost(CMC) on soil and water environment as non-point source, the elution patterns of anions were determined in muti-layered soil columns which were consisted of one top and one bottom in combination. The top soil columns were uniformly packed with Ap horizon soils amended with air-dried CMC at different ratios(0, 2, 4, 6%, wt/wt), the bottom ones were packed with of B horizon soils of 15, 30, and 45cm in length. After saturating the each soil column, the leachate were collected from the bottom of the column while the double-ionized water was applied from the surface of the column by constant head method. From the hydraulic conductivity and anion eluted were measured in the leachate. Each saturated hydraulic conductivities for top and the bottom soils were 3$\times$$10^{-4}$sec and 1.6$\times$$10^{-3}$cm/sec. Most of water soluble chloride and sulfate, having non-specific adsorption characteristics onto the soil particles, were eluted within 1 PV, showing that there was no apparent retardation of anion movement with increasing CMC contents in the top soils. The effect of soil depths on anion movement were similar to the results of CMC contents. Sulfate of having both of non-specific and specific adsorption characteristics was also recovered in the effluent within 1 PV, while the elution curves were slightly skewed to the right showing that the CMC affected the movement of sulfate. Phosphate of specific adsorption characteristics was hardly eluted within 5 PV.
