이온선택성 전극을 이용한 토양추출물의 질산 및 칼륨이온 측정 (Sensing Nitrate and Potassium Ions in Soil Extracts Using Ion-Selective Electrodes)

  • Automated sensing of soil macronutrients would allow more efficient mapping of soil nutrient spatial variability for variable-rate nutrient management. The capabilities of ion-selective electrodes for sensing macronutrients in soil extracts can be affected by the presence of other ions in the soil itself as well as by high concentrations of ions in soil extractants. Adoption of automated, on-the-go sensing of soil nutrients would be enhanced if a single extracting solution could be used for the concurrent extraction of multiple soil macronutrients. This paper reports on the ability of the Kelowna extractant to extract macronutrients (N, P, and K) from US Corn Belt soils and whether previously developed PVC-based nitrate and potassium ion-selective electrodes could determine the nitrate and potassium concentrations in soil extracts obtained using the Kelowna extractant. The extraction efficiencies of nitrate-N and phosphorus obtained with the Kelowna solution for seven US Corn Belt soils were comparable to those obtained with IM KCI and Mehlich III solutions when measured with automated ion and ICP analyzers, respectively. However, the potassium levels extracted with the Kelowna extractant were, on average, 42% less than those obtained with the Mehlich III solution. Nevertheless, it was expected that Kelowna could extract proportional amounts of potassium ion due to a strong linear relationship ($r^2$ = 0.96). Use of the PVC-based nitrate and potassium ion-selective electrodes proved to be feasible in measuring nitrate-N and potassium ions in Kelowna - soil extracts with almost 1 : 1 relationships and high coefficients of determination ($r^2$ > 0.9) between the levels of nitrate-N and potassium obtained with the ion-selective electrodes and standard analytical instruments.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the applicability of PVC membrane-based ion-selective electrodes for macronutrients (K, Ca, and N) by measuring of potassium, calcium, nitrate ions in hydroponic nutrient solution. The capabilities of two ion-selective membranes with varying chemical compositions for each ion were evaluated in terms of sensitivity, selectivity, and lifetime to choose sensing elements suitable for measuring typical ranges of nutrient concentrations in hydroponic solutions. The selected calcium and nitrate ion-selective membranes showed effectively sensitive responses to calcium and nitrate ions with lifetimes of 25 and 15 days, respectively. The addition of a cation additive to the potassium membrane cocktail allowed its sensitivity to be increased whereas its lifetime was reduced from 30 days to 10 days.

  • 본 연구에서는 테트라싸이크린 항생제를 양이온선택성 전극의 담체로 사용한 막전극을 제작하고 알칼리 및 알칼리 토금속에 적용하여 전위차 감응도를 조사하였다. 제작된 전극은 지용성 첨가제의 유무와 관계없이 $Ca^{2+}$ 이온에 대해서 거의 이상적인 전위차 감응도를 나타내었다. 또한 $Mg^{2+}$를 제외한 다른 양이온에도 이상적인 네른스트값에 80% 이상의 감응도와 $10^{-5}$ 이하의 검출한계를 나타내었다. 수명, 감응시간, 재현성 등도 이온선택성 전극에 응용하기에 문제가 없었다.

  • A study is reported about the synthesis processes of various silacrown ether by the reaction of alkoxysilanes with polyethylene glycols (PEG) through transesterification. Crown ether-functionalized carbosilane dendrimers and hybrid crown ethers are also discussed. We will also address the solubility enhancement, phase-transfer catalysis of different silacrown as well as their application as Ion-selective electrodes (ISEs) and as active phase of PVC electrodes for the development of potentiometric sensors for detection of alkali-Ions.

Pilymeric Membrane Sodium Ion-Selective Electrodes Based on Calix[4}arene Triesters

  • New lipophilic triesters of calix[4]arene and calix[4]quinone are investigated as sodium ion-selective ionophores in poly(vinyl chloride) membrane electrodes. For an ion selective electrode based on calix[4]arene triester I, the linear response is 1 ${\times}$10-3.5 to 1 ${\times}$ 10-1 M of Na+ concentrations. The selectivity coefficients for sodium ion over alkali metal and ammonium ions are determined. The detection limit (logaNa+ = -4.50) and the selectivity coefficient (logKNa+,K+pot = -1.86) are obtained for polymeric membrane electrode containing calix[4]arene triester I.

  • PVC membrane electrodes based on the lipophilic neutral carrier, dibenzo-18-crown-6, cyclic oligomers of teit-butylphenol-formaidehyde condensates, calix[4]arenes as the active sensors for verapamil have been prepared and tested in a variety of plasticizers. At pH 5.0, the electrode exhibits a Nernstian response in the range of 10$^{-2}$~5$\times$10$^{-5}$ M verapamil with a slope of 49.1$\pm$0.5mV per concentration decade. The electrode constructed in this work can be used continuously for at least 1 month before any damage to the membrane occurs. And the analyses of the local anesthetic amine, which are good to select a specific compound in a mixed solution, were also accomplished by using of another neutral carrier, a DB18C6, for comparing with calix[4]arene.

  • Nonactin을 이온 운반물질(ionophore)로, poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) 또는 polyurethane (PU)을 지지체로, 그리고 bis(2-ethylhexyl)adipate을 가소제로 사용하여 제작한 암모늄이온 선택성전극의 성능을 비교한다. PU-전극의 검출한계를 PVC전극에 비해 더 낮게 제작할 수 있는 것을 제외하고는 PVC전극이 PU전극에 비하여 그 성능이 우수하였으며 이를 설명하기 위하여 AFM 형상과 임피던스 측정 등을 하였다. PU-전극이 PVC에 비하여 이온 이동에 대한 저항이 더 큰 것으로 보아 더 단단한 막을 형성하여 더 낮은 검출 한계를 가지며 수명이 긴 전극으로 발전시킬 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

거대고리 중성 운반체를 갖는 Hg(II)이온 선택성 전극 (Hg(II) ion- Selective Electrodes with Neutral Carriers of Macrocycles)

  • 두 개의 황과 셀렌의 주개원자를 포함한 새로운 thia 및 diselena 크라운에데르 화합물을 합성하였다. 그리고 이 화합들을 중성운반체로 하고 PVC-가소제 (STPB)를 포함한 Hg(ll) 선택성 전극을 제작하였다. 이 전극들을 이용하여 여러 이온들의 전기화학적 선택성, 중성운반체의 종류 및 농도와 선택막의 매질에 대한 효과 그리고 실험용액의 pH변화에 대한 전극의 선택적 감응성들의 영향을 각각 검토하였다. 1,10-diselena-18-crown-6-PVC-STPB의 중성운반체의 막전극은 $10^{-2}$-10- M $Hg^{2+}$ 이온의 농도범위에서 ${28.2}\pm{0.6}$의 Nernstian 기울기를 갖는 좋은 선형적 감응성을 갖는다. 그리고 이 전극은 pH 2.5~6.0 범 위에서 알칼리토 금속, 몇가지 중금속 및 희토류 금속 이온에 대하여 좋은 선택성을 갖는다. 특히 이 전극은 수용액 중에서.$1^-$ 이온으로 Hg^{2-}$ 이온을 전위차 적정할 수 있는 센서로서 응용할 수 있다.

  • The main component governing selectivity in ion-selective electrodes and optodes is the ionophore. For this reason, a member of natural products that possess selective ion-binding properties have long been sought after. By applying this principle, the performance of cyclosporin used as neutral carriers for calcium selective polymeric membrane electrode was investigated. The calcium ion-selective electrode based on cyclosporin gave a good Nernstian response of 26.6 mV per decade for calcium ion in the activity range $1{\times}10^{-6}M$ to $1{\times}10^{-2}M$. The optimized calcium ion-selective electrode displayed very comparable selectivity for $Ca^{2+}$ ion against alkali and alkaline earth metal ions, $Na^{2+}$, and $Mg^{2+}$ in particular.

  • N,N,N,N-Tetrabenzylethylenediamine 중성운반체를 이용하여 PVC 수소이온 선택성 막전극을 제조하였다. 가소제 종류(phthalates와 sebacate) 및 친지방성 첨가제(NaTPB)에 따른 막전극의 전기저항과 수소이온 감응범위 및 알칼리금속과 알칼리토금속의 존재하에서 방해효과를 조사하였다. 가소제 종류에 의한 전기저항은 영향을 거의 받지 않았고 NaTPB 0.7%의 경우 수소이온에 대한 Nernstian 기울기는 가장 이론값에 근접하였으며, 또한 알칼리금속 및 알칼리토금속에 의한 방해도 적게 받았다. pH-선택성 고분자 막전극은 pH 2~10 범위내에서 선형적이고, 산과 알칼리용액 중에서 안정성 및 재현성 시험 결과 매우 좋게 나타났다.
