Smart IoT Hardware Control System using Secure Mobile Messenger (모바일 메신저를 이용한 스마트 IoT 하드웨어 제어 시스템)

  • IoT industry has been highlighted in the domestic and foreign country. Since most IoT systems operate separate servers in Internet to control IoT hardwares, there exists the possibility of security problems. Also, IoT systems in markets use their own hardware controllers and devices. As a result, there are many limitations in adding new sensors or devices and using applications to access hardware controllers. To solve these problems, we have developed a novel IoT hardware control system based on a mobile messenger. For the security, we have adopted a secure mobile messenger, Telegram, which has its own security protection. Also, it can improve the easy of the usage without any installation of specific applications. For the enhancement of the system accessibility, the proposed IoT system supports various network protocols. As a result, there are many possibility to include various functions in the system. Finally, our IoT system can analyze the collected information from sensors to provide useful information to the users. Through the experiment, we show that the proposed IoT system can perform well.

  • The advent of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, which brings many benefits to our lives, has resulted in numerous IoT devices in many parts of our living environment. However, to adapt to the rapid changes in the IoT market, numerous IoT devices were widely deployed without implementing security by design at the time of development. As a result, malicious attackers have targeted IoT devices, and IoT devices lacking security features have been compromised by attackers, resulting in many security incidents. In particular, an attacker can take control of an IoT device, such as Mirai Botnet, that has insufficient security features. The IoT device can be used to paralyze numerous websites by performing a DDoS attack against a DNS service provider. Therefore, this study proposes a scheme to minimize security vulnerabilities and threats in IoT devices to improve the security of the IoT service environment.

Simulation of a Mobile IoT System Using the DEVS Formalism

  • This paper proposes two novel methods to model and simulate a mobile Internet of Things (IoT) system using the discrete event system specification (DEVS) formalism. In traditional simulation methods, it is advantageous to partition the simulation area hierarchically to reduce simulation time; however, in this case, the structure of the model may change as the IoT nodes to be modeled move. The proposed methods reduce the simulation time while maintaining the model structure, even when the IoT nodes move. To evaluate the performance of the proposed methods, a prototype mobile IoT system was modeled and simulated. The simulation results show that the proposed methods achieve good performance, even if the number of IoT nodes or the movement of IoT nodes increases.

  • This paper describes an IoT-based electrical safety management system for managing the electrical power distribution systems in factories or buildings and for managing private electrical devices in apartment complex. The IoT-based electrical safety management system collects IoT data from the electrical facilities or devices to provide various electrical safety services. In some cases, it uses an IoT adaptor to collect data from legacy facilities. By monitoring and analyzing the IoT data, it is possible to provide protection from and prevent electrical hazards. In addition, an IoT-based electrical safety management system can benefit from using the IoT identification system and standardized data model of the electrical facilities and devices. An IoT identification system is used to increase manageability of large-scale electrical facilities which consists of numerous IoT devices. A standardized data model is used to support interoperability. This paper also explores some international and Korean standards related to IoT-based electrical safety management.

  • IoT is attracting attention as the development of the Internet and the spread of smart devices are rapidly increasing worldwide. As IoT is integrated into everyday life, the market is getting bigger. So, experts predict that IoT devices will grow to more than one trillion in a decade. Techniques related to IoT are also being developed steadily, and studies are underway to develop IoT in various fields. However, vendors launching IoT services do not interact with data from other platforms. Therefore, it is limited to growing into a big market by facing the obstacle called the silo phenomenon. To solve this problem, web technology attracts attention. Web technology can interact with data regardless of platform, and it can not only develop various services using the data, but also reduce unnecessary costs for developers. In this paper, we have studied a web - based open IoT system that can transmit data independently in real time to the IoT platform.

  • In the Internet of Things(IoT) era, many of the things or objects that enclose our environments are able to associate with those things on the Internet. To construct IoT systems, it needs to consider a component for acquiring and aggregating of sensory data via things with sensors and instruments, which is connected by diverse networks, in IoT environment. An IoT system is intrinsically distributed in a variety of ways. In addition, to manage an IoT system efficiently, interoperability is needed to meet requirements while the IoT system is designed to deliver data among its applications. In this paper, a reference architecture based on asynchronous messaging is defined and used for designing an IoT system. To apply the architecture, we discuss how to manage data streams with real-time characteristics and make a prototype based on pipe-and-filter to produce and consume them by a pub/sub messaging system NaradaBrokering.

  • Currently, with the success of 5G commercialization, a server system that integrates various Internet public safety services should be developed. In this paper, we developed a public safety integrated server, which is an IoT platform connecting IoT device and IoT gateway based on IP PBX. This server is based on embedded OS and various IoT services are executed in one system and call processing / broadcasting server function that processes emergency call and emergency broadcasting in public places is built in. This system collects IoT sensor data and emergency bell information and automatically sends out emergency alarms, emergency evacuation broadcasts, etc. at an accident site in an emergency situation, and transmits the daily information to the upper IoT service server, Provide public safety management services.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the actual condition of tourism complex and to apply IoT-based integrated management system to tourism complex to improve the utilization and management of tourism complex. Tourists need various information to take the lead in tourism activities, and all of these necessary information is collected through various routes such as information of the Internet, travel agencies, newspapers, and surrounding experiences. Recently, information provision through the Internet has taken a large part due to the development of information technology, and systems that combine IoT technology are being constructed. This is because the popularization of IoT technology improves the diversity, accessibility and convenience of information and makes it convenient to use. The purpose of this study is to suggest the importance of tourism information service using IoT-based system and future research directions. The previous studies on IoT-based system construction were also reviewed considering the efficiency of IoT technology. In order to solve the problems of tourism complex, this study improved the IoT-based tourism complex operation system and conducted operation management. IoT-based management system is expected to be improved as a tourism complex platform and is expected to be improved by overall management cases and experiences.

  • It is very useful because we can measure precise exercise volume at indoor and outdoor space, and receive push message and retrieve for exercise information by smart-phone at any-time and any-place if a fitness healthcare system base on IoT is utilized. This system is interlocked with IoT module including sensing device in sports equipment, IoT gateway, smart-phone, smart-band and server by internet. In this paper, when this, "a fitness healthcare system base on IoT", software is developed, a proper analysis and design method for practical affairs try to be presented due to showing software development analysis method and design method such as flowchart and UI design.
