  • Data center has a lot of management efforts for the facility, energy, and efficient usage monitoring. Data center power management is important to make the data center have reliable service and cost-effective business. In this paper, IoT based energy measurements monitoring which gives support to energy consumption analysis including indoor, outdoor temperature condition. This converged information for energy analysis gives various aspects of energy consumption effects. With IoT big data, energy machine learning system can give the relation of energy components and measurements, it is the key information of the quick energy analysis in the just one month data trend for the prediction and estimation.

  • With the rapid development of 5G technology, more and more network functions are interconnected and more popular. In order to effectively manage emerging network concepts, it allows any device object in the real world to be connected anywhere and at any time through the integration of device object recognition, interaction and raw data collection technologies. In addition, IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is an architecture framework for transmitting IP-based information to the device object which can be represented as end user. Therefore, the Internet of Things and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IoT-IMS) communication platform can provide a convenient and fast way for user or device objects to deploy new application services effectively. In particular, in order to collect and manage the device information from IoT effectively in the IoT-IMS communication platform, an IoT Information Gateway (IIG) is proposed. Through the IoT Application Service (AS) scenario, the collected device information can be easily observed and managed in a unified way.

  • Due to the rapid growth and development of Internet of Things (IoT), various devices are now accessible and controllable anytime from anywhere. However, the current IoT system requires a series of complex steps (e.g., launch an application, choose a space and thing, control the thing, etc.) to control the IoT devices; therefore, IoT suffers from a lack of efficient and intuitive methods of interacting with users. To address this problem, we propose a novel IoT control framework based on IoT tags and social messages. The proposed system provides an intuitive and efficient way to control the device based on the device ownership: 1) users can easily control the device by IoT tagging, or 2) users can send an IoT social message to the device owner to request control of the tagged device. Through the development of the prototype system, we show that the proposed system provides an efficient and intuitive way to control devices in the IoT environment.

A Study on the Effectiveness of IoT Coding Education Using Microbit (마이크로비트(MicroBit)를 활용한 IoT코딩 교육 효과성에 대한 연구)

  • In this study, we compared and analyzed the Arduino-based IoT coding environment, which is most frequently used in OSHW, and the microbit-based IoT coding environment developed and spread in the UK. The results show that a microbit-based educational environment can offer a variety of benefits. Although the basic problems are defined and compared, many differences occur. Microbit-based environment has less overhead than Arduino-based environment, which is effective for IoT coding education.

An Empirical Research on the IoT Basis Gas AMI Platform and Smart Metering Services (IoT 기반 가스 원격검침(AMI) 플랫폼과 서비스의 실증 연구)

  • This paper describes the development of a smart advanced metering infrastructure(AMI) architecture and services for using smart metering in gas industry. A general gas AMI system is composed of a smart gas meter, IoT network, the AMI platform, and an operation management system with security functions. The proposed gas AMI platform supports two-way communication between smart metering devices and AMI services and is applied by oneM2M standard to support interoperability between various types of metering devices and heterogeneous IoT networks. To demonstrating AMI system with the proposed platform, we installed about 2,900 smart gas meters in real environments and operated AMI systems for one year. We verified that about 94% of gas meters are normally worked and AMI services are stably operated without error or malfunction.

  • Recent advances in network infrastructures, sensors, and IoT devices have accelerated the research and development of monitoring and interaction technologies designed for people, buildings, and environments. In particular, there has been an increasing demand for monitoring technologies for vulnerable people such as the infirm, disabled, and children. In this paper, we propose an efficient hospital room management system based on IoT care robots. The status of hospital rooms can be monitored and controlled more efficiently and intuitively by utilizing IoT devices and a cloud platform. We demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed system through the implementation of a prototype based on ARTIK IoT devices and the ARTIK Cloud platform. We found that the proposed system requires approximately 600 ms and 130 ms to collect sensor data and respond to alerts, respectively, which demonstrates it can operate in real-time.

  • 본 논문에서는 인천공항 Airside와 Landside에 위치한 자산의 효율적인 관리를 위한 사물인터넷(IoT) 기반 스마트 자산관리 시스템의 구성과 실증을 제시한다. IoT기반 스마트 자산관리시스템은 위치정보를 생성하는 IoT 태그와 게이트웨이, 수집된 위치정보를 수신하고 표출하는 서버로 구성되어 있으며, IoT 태그를 자산에 부착하여 자산의 실내외 위치정보를 자산관리 시스템에서 실시간으로 확인할 수 있다. 실내 위치정보는 BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy)를 통해 취득하며, 실외 위치정보는 GPS와 LoRa(Long Range)를 통해 취득 가능하다. 개발한 시스템의 성능 검증을 위해 인천공항 제1여객터미널 내 기설치된 AP를 활용하였으며, 공항 전역을 커버할 수 있는 LoRa Gateway를 설치하였다. 개발한 자산관리 시스템은 공항이 보유한 자산의 도난 방지 등 효율적인 관리 와 공항운영에 기여할 것으로 예상된다.

  • NB-IoT(Narrow Band Internet of Things) is an emerging LPWAN(Low Power Wide Area Network) radio technology. NB-IoT has many advantages like low power, low cost, and high coverage. However low bandwidth and low sampling rates also lead to poor positioning accuracy. This paper proposed a solution to optimize positioning accuracy under the OTDOA(Observed Time Difference of Arrival) approach by utilizing MLR(Multiple Linear Regression) models. Through the MLR model to predict the influence degree of weather(temperature, humidity, light intensity and air pressure) on the arrival time of signal transmission to improve the measurement accuracy. The improvement of measurement accuracy can greatly improve IoT applications based on NB-IoT.

  • Besides unexpected growth perceived by IoT's, the variety and volume of threats have increased tremendously, making it a necessity to introduce intrusion detections systems for prevention and detection of such threats. But Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (IDPS) inside the IoT network yet introduces some unique challenges due to their unique characteristics, such as privacy inference, performance, and detection rate and their frequency in the dynamic networks. Our research is focused on the privacy inferences of existing intrusion prevention and detection system approaches. We also tackle the problem of providing unified a solution to implement the open-source IDPS in the IoT architecture for assessing the performance of IDS by calculating; usage consumption and detection rate. The proposed scheme is considered to help implement the human health monitoring system in IoT networks

  • Recently, IoT(Internet of Things) has been extensively researching to provide intelligent services by fusing ICT. Especially with the advent of Germany's Industry 4.0, it is emphasized the importance of the industrial IoT to maximize the production capacity. Accordingly, a lot of efforts to spread the smart factory base of industrial IoT have continued domestically as well as abroad. But the current smart factory systems have controlled equipment using the data declared in the embedded systems. Therefore, it is difficult to control environment that lots of equipment is installed. In this paper, we proposed equipment control system based on data base access method for industrial IoT. This method controls the equipment using data base from parameter of equipment. Through experiments that the system apply to mold shot system with a number of variables, it is shown that the proposed method can efficiently control a number of devices.
