A Decision Support Model for Intelligent Facility Management through the Digital Transformation

  • Information on the energy consumption of buildings that can be obtained through conventional methods is limited. Therefore, this study aims to develop a model that can support decision making about building facility management through digital transformation technologies. Through the IoT sensor, the building's energy data and indoor air quality data are collected, and the monitored data is visualized through the ELK Stack and produced as a dashboard. In addition, the target building is photographed with a 360-degree camera and maps using a tool to create a 360-degree tour. Using such digital transformation technologies, users of buildings can obtain various information in real time without visiting buildings directly. This can lead to changes in actions or actions for building management, supporting facility management decisions, and consequently reducing building energy consumption.

  • 본 논문에서는 교량의 변위를 IoT 장치를 이용하여 실시간 측정하고 추출된 데이터를 이용하여 교량의 이상징후를 AI 기반으로 진단 및 모니터링 하는 방법을 제안한다. AI 모델 학습 학습을 위해서 비정상 상태의 교량이 필요하지만, 실제 교량에 인위적으로 비정상 상태를 만들 수 없으므로, 탄성 받침을 이용하여 모의 교량을 제작하였다. 탄성 받침을 이용하여 제작에 반영 및 모의교량에 적합한 모의 차량도 제작하여 정상적 데이터와 비정상적 데이터를 수집하였다. 수집된 데이터를 전처리 과정을 통해 AI 분석을 통해 교량의 이상 징후를 진단 및 모니터링하였으며, 제안 모델을 실험한 결과 96.7%의 정확도가 도출되었다.

  • 최근 기후변화와 집중호우, 도시배수체계의 한계로 인해 도시침수가 빈번하게 일어나고 있으며 이에 따른 인적·물적 피해가 지속적으로 발생하고 있다. 기후변화 보고서에 따르면 우리나라 강우량은 21세기 후반까지 증가할 것으로 예측되고 있어 도시 침수 피해를 사전에 예측하고 피해 규모를 감소시키기 위한 위기 대응 시스템의 개발이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 효율적이고 정확한 도시침수 상황관리를 가능하게 하기 위해 센서 계측 기술, IoT, 빅데이터 등의 최신 기술을 적용한 도시침수 모니터링 시스템을 설계하였다. 도시침수 모니터링 시스템은 스마트 레인센서, 스마트 지표 침수계측센서, 스마트 지표하 침수계측센서 등 다양한 종류의 센서와 연동되어 있으며 시스템에서 계측 데이터를 감시, 분석, 통계할 수 있어 효율적인 재난관리 대응이 가능하다. 또한, 도시침수 모니터링 시스템은 재난상황 발생 시 사전에 침수예상지역을 분석하고 대피계획 및 시점을 제공함으로써 인명피해를 줄이고 급작스런 홍수에 대비할 수 있다.

Development of a Face Detection and Recognition System Using a RaspberryPi (라즈베리파이를 이용한 얼굴검출 및 인식 시스템 개발)

  • IoT is a new emerging technology to lead the $4^{th}$ industry renovation and has been widely used in industry and home to increase the quality of human being. In this paper, IoT based face detection and recognition system for a smart elevator is developed. Haar cascade classifier is used in a face detection system and a proposed PCA algorithm written in Python in the face recognition system is implemented to reduce the execution time and calculates the eigenfaces. SVM or Euclidean metric is used to recognize the faces detected in the face detection system. The proposed system runs on RaspberryPi 3. 200 sample images in ORL face database are used for training and 200 samples for testing. The simulation results show that the recognition rate is over 93% for PP+EU and over 96% for PP+SVM. The execution times of the proposed PCA and the conventional PCA are 0.11sec and 1.1sec respectively, so the proposed PCA is much faster than the conventional one. The proposed system can be suitable for an elevator monitoring system, real time home security system, etc.

  • Smart sensing plays a key role in a variety of IoT applications, and its importance is growing more and more together with the development of artificial intelligence. Therefore the importance of smart sensors cannot be overemphasized. However, most studies related to smart sensors have been focusing on specific application purposes, for example, security, energy saving, monitoring, and there are not much effort on researches on how to efficiently configure various types of smart sensors to be needed in the future. In this paper, a component-based framework with hierarchical structure for efficient construction of smart sensor is proposed and its application to smart home is designed and implemented. The proposed method shows that various types of smart sensors to be appeared in the near future can be configured through the design and development of necessary components within the proposed software framework. In addition, since it has a layered architecture, the configuration of the smart sensor can be expanded by inserting the internal or external layers. In particular, it is possible to independently design the internal and external modules when designing an IoT application service through connection with the external device layer. A small-scale smart home system is designed and implemented using the proposed method, and a home cloud operating as an external layer, is further designed to accommodate and manage multiple smart homes. By developing and thus adding the components of each layer, it will be possible to efficiently extend the range of applications such as smart cars, smart buildings, smart factories an so on.

  • The real-name electric fishing gear system is one of the important policy capable to build 'abundant fishing ground' and to protect marine environment. And, fishing gear automatic-identification system is one of IoT services that can implement above-mentioned policy by using communication such as low power wide area (LPWA) and multi-sensing techniques. Fishing gear automatic -identification system can gather the location data and lost/hold data from electric buoy floated in sea and can provide them to fishermen and monitoring center in land. We have developed the communication modules and electric buoy consisted of fishing gear automatic-identification system. In this paper, we report the test results of communication distance between electric buoy and wireless node installed in fish boat and location error of electric buoy. It is confirmed that line of sight (LOS) distance between electric buoy and wireless node is obtained to be 62 km, which is two times of the desired value, and location error is obtained to be CEP 1 m, which is smaller than the desired value of CEP 5 m. Therefore, it is expected that service area and accuracy of the developed fishing gear automatic-identification system is more extended.

  • Recently, the frequency of stroke disease is increased due to the rapid aging population, and is contributed to the major occurrence factors of the posteriori acquired disability. This study is about an postural change device for the control of supine posture which is an assisted equipment using in daily rehabilitation process for overcoming the disability by the aftereffects of the stoke disease. In this paper, the existing domestic and Japan postural appliances is examined and its comparison and categorization is performed according to its functions and purposes. Here, in order to control the supine posture state, the design method for advanced multi functional system is proposed, which is devised to have an unified mattress control operations of combining the bedsore prevention tube with the supine posture tilting tube. And also, in addition of an smart function, it is designed to enable to perform an RF functions such as the monitoring of the present device state, the alteration of the basic position and the control of alternative floating and supine posture. This system control hardware consists of three main parts : the sensor detection part, the motor driving /control part, and the system control part for bluetooth communication. In results, we confirmed that the system designed by this research is possible to make it practical as an advanced smart postural change device combined by IoT technology in the application field of the recent IT technology.

Implementation of Human Positioning Monitoring Device for Underwater Safety (수중안전을 위한 인체 위치추적 모니터링 장치 구현)

  • This paper implements a system that monitors human body lifting information in the event of a marine accident. The monitoring system performs ultrasonic communication through a lifting device controller that transmits underwater environment information, and LoRa communication is performed on the water to provide GPS information within 10 km to the control center or mother ship. The underwater lifting controller transmits pneumatic sensor, gyro sensor, and temperature sensor information. In an environment where the underwater conditions increase by one atmosphere of water pressure every 10m in depth, and the amount of air in the instrument decreases by half compared to land, a model of a 60kg underwater mannequin is used. Using one 38g CO2 cartridge in the lifting appliance SMB(Surface Maker Buoy), carry out a lifting appliance discharge test based on the water level rise conditions within 10 sec. Underwater communication constitutes a data transmission environment using a 2,400-bps ultrasonic sensor from a depth of 40m to 100m. The monitoring signal aims to ensure the safety and safe human structure of the salvage worker by providing water depth, water temperature, and directional angle to rescue workers on the surface of the water.

Transmission Interval Optimization by Analysis of Collision Probability in Low Power TPMS (저전력 운영 TPMS에서 충돌 확률 분석을 통한 전송주기 최적화)

  • TPMS is a vehicle electric system that measures the air pressure of a tire, and informs the driver of current tire states. The TPMS sensor typically uses unidirectional communication for small size, light weight, and low power. The transmission period of the sensor indicates the service quality of monitoring the tire. In order to determine the optimal transmission period, frame collision probability and the life time of the sensor should be analyzed. In this paper, collision probability model using Venn diagram is designed in low power TPMS with the normal and warning mode. And the life time and a collision probability were analyzed with the ratio(n) of the normal mode to warning mode transmission period. As a result, $T_{nP}=31sec$ and $T_{wP}=2.4sec$ at 5 years, and $T_{nP}=71sec$ and $T_{wP}=2.5sec$ at 7 years.

  • Digital-Twin are recognized as an important core technology for the realization of Smart Factories by simulating and optimizing the monitoring and predictive maintenance of manufacturing equipment and the operation of production lines in a digital space. To implement this system, we adopt the IEC62541-based OPC-UA (Open Platform Communications Unified-Architecture) Protocol, which has strengths in interoperability and connectivity between heterogeneous platforms. Therefore, In this paper, We designed and implemented an IIoT(Industry Internet of Things) system that connects heterogeneous platforms, and developed an OPC-UA simulator based on IEC 62541. We will present whether the data will be applied to the Digital-Twin Platform and whether it will work, and proceed with performance tests and evaluations. We evaluate the operation performance and OPC-UA performance of the Digital-Twin platform lightened by the proposed device, and present the optimal IEC62514-based simulator system. We proceeded with the performance evaluation of sending and receiving data with OPC-UA wrapping with the proposed simulator, and found that a lightweight Digital-Twin platform can be operated. This research can apply the OPC-UA protocol for implementing smart factory and meta-factory in the manufacturing shop floor with limited resources, avoiding the waste of time and space on the shop floor through the OPC-UA simulator. We expect that this will contribute to a significant improvement in efficiency by minimizing.
