  • It is general to make the circuit analysis of current-fed type inverter driven by current source with rippleless input under the assumption of infinite induction Ld in direct current reactor(DCL). This paper focusing on the fact that Ld has bounded value in real circuit, examines operating characteristics by analysis of static state characteristics of current type inverter driven by voltage source and compares it with the operating characteristics of the circuit driven by current source.

  • In order to solve the problem of system efficiency reduced on account of two stage power conversion, we propose a series resonant full bridge inverter circuit for battery-fed microwave oven. This circuit has both a compact size and a light weight. Also, a frequency control adjusts power levels of the microwave oven. Operational principles are explained in detail. A proto-type inverter circuit with 1[kW] power consumption is built and tested for verifying the operation.

  • Recently, in the industrial applications, accurate arc control for welding machine are developed. This paper describes arc control of inverter-fed arc welding machine, and efficiency of inverter-fed arc welding machine. It is shown that the arc pressure and are stiffness of the pulse arc nay be as much as several times that of the equivalent dc are. Finally, the theoretical predictions are compared with test. The potential of such a welding machine is also described.

  • Induction motors are the main driving force of electric vehicles and operated by pulse width modulation (PWM) inverters in speed control. Contrary to full-voltage operation of induction motors, inverter-fed induction motors (IFM) generates transient overvoltages up to 10 kV/us and transient overvoltages accelerate the deterioration of winding insulation. We investigated transient overvoltages produced by the operation of IFM and analyzed its peak value and dv/dt depending on power cable length and operation frequency. The experimental results showed that transient overvoltages measured at the motor terminal increased with the cable length between inverter and motor.

  • The optimum design technology using combind F.E.M and eauivalent circuit is so fast and accurate that it can be applied to the optimum rotor design of an inverter-fed induction motor in high efficiency motor making industry. The optimum characteristics fer a rotor slot model of a 3 phase inverter-134 nduction motor was previously verified by a time-step F.E.M. In this paper, four verification models with the design variables near the optimum point are designed to chech whether the characteristics of a slot model presented is not less than those of the near models. The outputs of whole models are analyzed in a time-step Finite Element Method and compared in the experimental test. The economical and efficient selecting method of design variables fur the computer simulation and experimental test is presented in order to assure the optimum point.

  • In this paper the instability analysis of Inverter fed Induction motor drive system is performed by calculate the eigen value of the linearised equation which describe the behavior of the Induction motor. Inverter fed Induction motor drive system may become unstable at low speeds(frequencies) even though balanced, sinusoidal voltage are applied. Effect for the change of machine parameter and Inverter delay time are simulated by digital computer.

  • A compensation strategy for the phase-difference control method, which has been reported as a new driving method of a 2-phase inverter-fed induction motor, is proposed. The phase-difference control method extends the control range of the speed and eliminates the harmonic contents of the output voltage of the 2-phase inverter-fed induction motor. However, the phase-difference angle becomes narrower, motor efficiency deceases more and pulsating torque increases more. As the counterplan for these shortcomings of the phase-difference control method, a hybrid control method which combines the phase-difference control with the voltage control is proposed. The algorithm to realize a hybrid method is presented. As an example, a model composed of 5 regions has been analyzed by computer simulation in terms of motor performance and the results have been compared with experimental results.

  • This paper deals with a fault diagnosis algorithm for open faults in the switching devices of PWM inverter-fed IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) drive. The proposed diagnostic algorithm is realized in the controller using the informations of three-phase currents or reference line-to-line voltages, without requiring additional equipments for fault detection. Under switch open fault conditions, the conventional dq model used to control an AC motor cannot directly be applied for the analysis of drive system, since three-phase balanced condition does not hold. To overcome this limitation, a fault model based on the line-to-line voltages is employed for the simulation studies. For comparative performance evaluation through the experiments, the entire control system is implemented using digital signal processor (DSP) TMS320F28335. Simulations and experimental results are presented to verify the validity of the proposed diagnosis algorithm.
