  • The inverter fed BLDC(Brushless DC) motor has been increasingly applied to industry and home appliances due to the advance of power electronics and permanent magnet technology, and its high efficiency and good acoustic noise characteristics. The BLDC motor and drives, however, require the rotor position sensors that may cause some problems such as the high cost and space. In this paper, sensorless algorithm for an interior permanent magnet BLDC motor is proposed. The maximum torque per ampere operation with advance angle considering load torque and speed was simulated and verified through the experiment.

  • In large system, design margin makes relatively price higher. So, optimal design through exact analysis of thermal behavior is needed. In this paper, we propose the equivalent load test facility using two inverter & converter system and inductors. Applying actual electrical profiles for motor drive, thermal characteristics of power converter fed AC motor drive are obtained, and the results are compared with simulation results.

  • The aim of study in this paper is that in a system drive of the converter-inverter fed induction motor, the minimum input power can be maintained by control the voltage and frequency of the motor. In theoretical and experiment results describtion motor efficiency is improved by properly varying the ratio v/f. At lightly load condition, for example its efficiency was improved from 44% to 66% as the ratio of v/f varied from 1 to 0.57.

  • This paper presents the design of 1 kW prototype high frequency link boost half bridge inverter-fed DC-DC power converters with bridge voltage-doublers suitable for small scale PEM fuel cell systems and associated control schemes. The operation principle of this converter is described using fuel cell modeling and some operating waveforms. The switching mode equivalent circuits are based on simulation results and a detailed circuit operation analysis at soft-switching conditions.

  • In this paper the instantaneous thrust of a linear induction motor(LIM) with cage-type secondary is estimated by the line voltages and phase currents measurement when the LIM is fed by PWM inverter. The estimated thrust values according to various input frequencies are compared with the measured ones.

  • In this paper a control technique for active power filters is proposed which not only eliminates the harmonic current, but also controls the reactive power at the ac side of PWM inverter-induction motor drive system. Injecting the proposed PWM current enables the harmonic components of orders not greater than the pulse number per half-cycle to be removed completely. It also enables the input power factor to become unity. Theoretical investigations are performed to evaluate the performance of the proposed control technique.

  • The method to improve the efficiency of a slightly loaded induction motor is suggested. It is based upon the optimal efficiency slip tracking by adjusting the voltage to frequency ratio(V/f). It is adopted the converter-inverter fed induction motor drive system. All the control loops are implemented bh the Z-80 microprocessor. By this method, 10% or more improvement is achieved at a few fraction of the full load.

  • This paper deal with problems of leakage current, shaft voltage, bearing current, and EMI, in valiable-speed AC drives. The originating mechanism is illustrated with a high-frequency equivalent circuit. Reduction methods are classified in to six categories based on the equivalent circuit. Some experimental results show that a common-mode transformer (CMT) and a common-noise canceler (ACC) can solve the problems, which have been proposed the authors.

  • This paper gives and analytical expression of the average and rms currents of switching devices in volt-age-fed PWM inverters. It is shown that the device currents are represented by a function of the power factor of the load and the normalized output voltage of the inverter. The validity of the derived formulas is confirmed with simulation and experiment, showing that the modulation method has a minor effect on the characteristics of the device current.

  • 이중여자 유도기의 고정자를 계통에 연결할 때 발생하는 과도 전류를 억제하기 위하여 회전자측에 설치된 인버터 컨버터를 사용하여 고정자에 유기되는 전압을 제어하였다. 고정자에 유기되는 전압을 계통 전원에 동기화 시키는 알고리즘을 제안하였으며. 제안한 알고리즘을 적용한 시뮬레이터를 설계. 제작하여 알고리즘의 동작을 확인하였다.
