  • In this work, the characteristics of a six step inverter fed brushless DC motor are analyzed and the control of amplitude of inverter input voltage and phase shift of a six step inverter is discussed. The effects of the motor performance, efficiency and power factor, are studied.

  • An inverter driven induction motor has more superior dynamic characteristic than sine wave driven induction motor. But it has a problem with shaft voltage and bearing current in drive-motor system. This paper presents the analysis of bearing current in inverter-fed induction motor. The proposed method is based on using numerical method (FEM) to derive parasitic parameters in motor. Using the electric field analysis with FEM, the stored energy in dielectric materials of the motor can be calculated and the parasitic capacitances are obtained. Then we compared the proposed method with a conventional method in variable frequency and load conditions. From the comparision of simulation and experiment result, we confirmed that the proposed method is valid.

  • The conventional autosequentially commutated current-fed inverter (ASCI) is widely employed with the induction motor drives for speed control. Howener, this inverter has a limit of high power and high frequency indution motor drives. One of the limitations is to be found in the commutation capacitors in the main circuit of this inverter. A new current-fed gate turn-off thyristor (GTO) inverter is developed. This inverter is composed of the main GTO bridge configuration and the improved energy rebound circuit (ERC)without the commutation capacitor. This inverter works stable at high frequency from light load to heavy one. The improved ERC is used not only to rebound the load reactive power to the dc link, but also to return the power in the load to the ac source. The new GTO inverter circuit and the characteristics of the inverter induction motor drives are explained and analyzed.

  • 본 논문에서는 PWM 인버터-유도전동기 구동시스템의 전도노이즈 저감을 위한 출력필터 설계에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 전도노이즈는 고전압 입력, 고용량 구동시스템 그리고 긴 전동기 터미널 등의경우에서 크게 문제가 된다. 고압력을 갖는 시스템에서는 높은 압력에 비례한 직류 링크 전압을 갖고 이에 따라 스위칭 dv/dt가 순간 최대 CM 접지전류를 발생시킨다. 그러므로 이에 대한 대책이 필요하다. 따라서 최근 산업 현장에서 많이 사용되고 있는 PWM 인버터를 설계 제작하여 유도전동기를 구동하고 이에 따라 발생되는 전도노이즈 성분을 감쇠 시킬 수 있는 출력필터를 설계하였고 제작 및 실험을 통하여 그 타당성을 입증하였다.

  • This paper presents an inverter-driven induction motor used as the traction motor for a high speed drive system that is required safety, reliability and performance and so on, In the respect of traction motor design, it is mainly showed the weight reduction inclination and characteristic investigation due to V/f driving pattern variation of inverter. Particularly, the reduction of V/f ratio pattern effects on the weight of traction motor and badly on the increase of phase current of traction motor in starting point. This method of weight reduction design have to be reached the decision with not only motor but also the consideration of inverter system because of the heat capacity, weight and material cost of inverter according to the increase of current.

  • The next generation domestic high speed railway system is a power distributed type and uses vector control method for motor speed control. Nowadays, inverter driven induction motor system is widely used. However, recently PMSM drives are deeply considered as a alternative candidate instead of an induction motor drive system due to their advantages in efficiency, noise reduction and maintenance. The next-generation high speed train is composed of 2 converter units, 4 inverter units, and 4 Traction Motor units. Each motor is connected to the inverter directly. In this paper, the effect of IPMSM parameter variations to the system operation characteristics of the multi inverter drive high speed train system are investigated. The parallel connected inverter input-output characteristics are analyzed to the parameter mismatches of IPMSM using the 1C1M control simulator based on Matlab/Simulink.

  • An inverter-fed induction is driven by a harmonic voltage source so that it is necessary to be analysed by time-stepping F.E.M. But it takes so long time that disadvantageous to design. This paper presents a simple analysis method for inverter-fed induction motor using FEM and harmonic equivalent circuit. First, the rotor bar resistance and the leakage reactance are determinated by FEA for 1 slot region in rotor to consider the skin effect and the saturation. Secondly, the characteristic of the motor is analyzed by the harmonic equivalent circuits consisting of the obtained parameters from the FEA. This method is carried out to analyze an induction motor driven by the sinusoidal voltage and the inverter. The results are verified by comparing with those of the time-step F.E.A and the experiment.

  • A simple analysis method for inverter-fed induction motor using F.E.M and harmonic equivalent circuit is proposed. And an optimum shape of rotor slot for 2Hp inverter-fed induction motor is determined by combining the proposed analysis method and an optimization algorithm. Conjugate gradient method is used for the optimization algorithm. The optimization is performed for higher efficiency and reduction of harmonic loss in the inverter-fed induction motor. The optimization results are verified by comparing with those of the time-step F.E.A.

  • 본 논문에서는 철도차량 추진시스템을 위한 3-레그 인버터와 5-레그 인버터의 성능을 비교/분석하고 철도차량에 5-레그 인버터를 적용함에 있어 최적의 동작 조건을 제시한다. 5-레그 인버터는 두 대의 3-레그 인버터에 비해 2개의 스위치가 감소되며, 하나의 제어보드로 두 대의 3상 전동기를 독립적으로 제어할 수 있다. 이로 인해 두 대의 3-레그 인버터를 이용할 경우보다 시스템의 비용 감소와 소형화가 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 먼저 도시철도 차량에서 사용중인 유도전동기 제어 기법과 PWM 방법을 분석한다. 다음으로 5-레그 인버터의 기본 동작과 특징을 분석한다. 이러한 분석을 바탕으로 동일한 유도전동기 제어 기법과 PWM 방법을 3-레그 인버터와 5-레그 인버터에 적용했을 때 유도전동기의 속도와 토크 특성을 비교하고 분석한다.

교류 전동기의 고효율 운전을 위한 3상 인버터의 입력전력 추정 기법 (Input Power Estimation Method of a Three-phase Inverter for High Efficiency Operation of an AC Motor)

  • An input power estimation method of a three-phase inverter for the high-efficiency operation of AC motors is proposed. Measuring devices, such as DC link voltage and input current sensors, are required to obtain the input power of the inverter. In the proposed method, the input power of the inverter can be estimated without the input current sensor by using the phase current information of the AC motor and the switching pattern of the inverter. The proposed method is more robust to parameter error than conventional method. The validity of the input power estimation method is verified through experiments conducted on a 1 kW permanent-magnet synchronous motor drive system.
