본 논문은 옥내 이동객체 데이터베이스의 갱신 전략을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 최근의 일련의 측정치에 칼만 필터를 적용하여 이동객체의 속도를 예측하고, 예측한 속도를 최근 측정치에 적용하여 현재 위치를 추정한다. 그리고 현재 위치로 추정된 값과 현재 실측값의 차이가 일정 거리 이하이면 실측값을 전송하지 않는다. 제안하는 방법의 효율성을 검증하기 위하여 실험 공간을 실제로 걸어가면서 측정한 일련의 측정치에 제안하는 방안을 적용하여 전송을 절약하는 비율과 이로 인한 오차의 증가율을 분석한다.

In this paper, a novel field weakening scheme for the induction machine by the voltage control strategy is presented. The proposed algorithm ensures producing the maximum torque over the entire field weakening legion. Also by introducing the direct field-oriented control in the field weakening legion with large variation in machine parameters, the drive system can obtain the robustness to machine parameter variation. Moreover, by using estimated speed, sensorless speed control can be possible in very high speed lesion. Experimental results for a laboratory induction motor drive system confirm the validity or the proposed control algorithm.

Six Sigma Management has been introduced as a management strategy by leading companies and some small and medium-sized companies in Korea. But it is not easy for small and medium-sized companies to implement this new management system because of their business environment such as poor manpower or lack of time, etc. This paper proposes an effective implementation model of the Six Sigma Management for small and medium-sized companies using the management by process. First, We review the concept of Six Sigma Management and consider the problems of introducing the system for small and medium-sized companies. And then, Six Sigma Management model for small and medium-sized companies named SIX SIGMA-s is presented. Finally, we present a case study of applying SIX SIGMA-s for a medium- sized company.

Traditional Manufacturing method is push system by plan made in advance and Japanese manufacturing method represented by JUST-IN-TIME is pull system which respond's to the demand flexibly. Both have their pros and cons. In general, it is well understood that push system is faster than pull system in the sense of manufacturing speed. However, pull system such as JIT excelles dramatically in the sense of work in process. Therefore, this paper is trying to put together to get alternative which has the advantage of both system. The objective of the paper is to enhance the effect of built-in manufacturing system without paying extra cost by way of introducing the alternative of the pull-push manufacturing strategic operational method.

Many companies desperately effort to find out more effective management method to survive in keen competition. Jack welch of past GE's CEO had said that an excellent result of today's GE management is thanks to Six sigma work. Many korean companies are introduced Six sigma method in their management since late 1993. Six sigma uses a set of strategies, statistics and methods to improve the processes we use to do everything from designing to manufacturing a product from marketing products and services to providing business information to our internal and external customers. The purpose of this study is to overcome these problems and to help make an important decision in establishing introduction strategy by abstracting the reasons and success factors and result indices which are important sources for introducing Six sigma management.

Taking advantage of geographical position of Korea located on the main route of world-wide service, Port Logistics Industry can be strategic industry which secures international competitiveness necessary for Korea to be hub of Northeast Asian's logistics. Along with the advent of super large container vessel, world ports environment changed from "milkway" type, which means vessel calls every port for service to "Hub & Spoke" type, which means vessel calls regional central port and feeder service for the rest ports. As environment changes, regional ports in Northeast Asia are competing each other tougher and tougher and introducing or developing port logistics information system based on state-of-the-art technology in order to adapt themselves to new environment, thus to be Hub port. Taking this situation into consideration, we want to define clearly the meaning and scope of port logistics IT and review the global trend of port logistics IT. Finally we want to find future development of port logistics IT which we have to achieve.

The introduction of new equipments to strengthen the competitiveness of enterprises is one of pretty important factors. Enterprises introducing new equipments strengthen competitiveness through productivity increasing, high quality maintenance, inventory reduction, improved design and production interface, simple scheduling process, low scrap rate, rework reduction, etc. Managers will work out the best equipment-replacing strategy through the appropriate combination of potential cost attributes and qualitative attributes difficult to quantify in accordance with the business purpose. This study is to present a method to select an equipment-replacing alternative through the decision-making model of Analytic Hierarchy Process in consideration of the differences of cost flow of the alternatives, taking into consideration tangible attributes and strategic intangible attributes.

As we approach the end of the twentieth century, it seems we need a new way to express the thoughts, needs, and values that are undergoing a drastic change and a new strategy to create diverse cultural forms that would reflect and incorporate such changes. In this study, I am introducing the chaos theory as a new way of thinking that would help counterbalancing the deter-ministic world-view and forging a harmonious unity of man and his environment. As a creative principle, the theory seems to offer an unlimited number of structural possibilities for art and design. In fine, this study discuss-es the reductive nature of modernist approach and offer instead the chaos theory that is more probabilistic and capable of greater diversity.

As conservation of global environment has becoming a major outstanding issue of the world, the International Maritime Organization(IMO) has been legislation a convention for prevention of air pollution from ships. By the new convention, use of air pollutants such as SOx, NOx, Freon and Halon Gas shall be restricted. In this regards, analysing these requirements of the convention is required as the convention will also be applied on restriction of discharging exhaust gases from ships by establishing a requirement of SOx and NOx discharged. The purposed of this study is as follows ; 1) Introducing of the backgrounds of legislating the convention for prevention of air pollution from ships and major contents of the convention and a countermeasures on the convention by Korea. 2) Reviewing by analyzing the influence on domestic industies concerned by restriction of SOx, NOx in exhaust gases and sulphur content of fuel oil. 3) Preparing a countermeasure on the convention properly.
