  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among customer satisfaction, trust, and loyalty and examine the differences and similarities between specialized and general merchandise internet shopping malls concerning the relationships of these key success factors. The structural model is tested with each of the sub-samples(i.e., specialized and general merchandise shopping customers taken separately) and the data from entire data samples(i.e., specialized and general merchandise shopping customers pooled together). The same research model was used in analysing general merchandise, specialized, and integrated internet shopping mall to reveal and compare the casual path constructs. In the analysis of path coefficients composed of separated taken sample, all research hypothesis is accepted and the model's goodness of fit also shows all high. In the basis of the previous empirical test, multiple sample method was used. Properties of the causal paths, including standardized path coefficients, the significance of difference, latent correlations and variance explained for satisfaction, trust and loyalty in the hypothesized model, have similarities in general. This means that the proper structural management concerned with customer satisfaction, trust and loyalty is very crucial for the success of all kinds of internet shopping malls. Following the model test, I conduct a test of integrated model's path coefficients. Statistical results show that all the hypothesis concerned with internet shopping malls were accepted like the separated sample test. Click and mortar companies should clearly understand and articulate the key requirements of shopping mall satisfaction, trust and loyalty and encourage to establish linkage and interactive relationship among the research variables. In addition, internet marketers are required to customize the interaction considering and adapting the patterns of internet shopping malls. Other interesting results concerning the strategies in internet shopping malls strategy are also presented.

  • Purpose: While empirical importance of dimensionality of perceived value is widely accepted, our understanding of experiential value dimensions in other retail channels and other cultures has not been explicitly tested. This study attempted to determine if the dimensions of experiential value scale (EVS) by Mathwick, Malhotra, and Rigdon (2001) identified in US catalog and Internet contexts could be applied in other international markets (South Korea) and in other retail channels (department store versus Internet shopping mall). Methodology/Approach: Two data sets, one from 220 department store shoppers and the other from 359 Internet shopping mall shoppers, were analyzed. Findings: Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed four different EVS dimensions by retail channels. Overall, entertainment and intrinsic enjoyment values were found to be more important in department store while economic and efficiency value dimensions were interpreted critical in Internet shopping mall context. Visual appeal aspect constitutes distinct value dimension in two channels. Practical Implications: One separate dimension of time efficiency in Internet shopping mall suggests that more efficient web design and functions that can save time and promote convenience are needed to better accommodate their customers. Internet has heavily relied on traditional attributes, such as factual information, price comparability, and brand name reliance. However, this study suggests that Internet shopping mall retailer should offer visual diversion and stimulation just as brick and mortar shopping malls do. Originality /Value of Paper: Although the research findings must be viewed as tentative because the results are from one country, they provide a rich basis for further understanding the dimensions of experiential value in other international markets and other retail channels. • The purpose of this study was to provide useful information which would help web-site planning and design, product composition, and service of internet shopping malls. The sample consisted of 693 university students who had visited(Ed- in this case 'visit' means to enter an internet site; note also that the past perfect tense already conveys the meaning of 'experience') internet fashion shopping malls or purchased clothing through internet. Data were analyzed by factor analysis, frequency, t-test, and ANOVA(LSD) using SPSSWIN. The results were as follows: 1) The evaluative criteria of internet fashion shopping malls could be categorized by 4 factors: product presentation method, design, product information, sales promotion & additional service; the first of which was found to be the most important. These criteria showed significant differences according to the period and time of access. Furthermore, the degree of consideration for these criteria was high, whereas the degree of satisfaction was low. 2) The evaluative criteria of clothing could be categorized by 6 factors: general characteristics of products, wearing comfort & ease of management, popularity & status symbolism, service, aesthetics, and textiles materials; the first of which was found to be the most important. These criteria were significantly different according to the periods, time, and purposes of access, and purchase experiences.
