The Information Leisure Activity of the Aging Generation and the Analysis of Meaning (노년기 소비자의 정보화 여가활동 연구와 의미 분석)

  • Many social and environmental changes have emerged due to the increasing size of the aging generation. This study explored the current status of the information leisure activity of the aging generation (computer use activity, internet service participation, social community participation and blogging, UCC, etc.) and the need for serious games among elderly consumers. It analyzed the current status of serious game and information leisure span as determined by experts on elderly care at the aging welfare institute. The research methods involved applying content analysis and focus group interviews. The results were as follows: The elderly are willing to enjoy the internet and economics networks. In particular, economic investment, economic news, health, meetings, and communication are the main internet search categories. The results for serious games are less interesting than those for IT participation. The components of usefulness in terms of serious games, as identified by care experts, are simplicity, a user-friendly interface, efficacy, and certainty in using the game device. Care experts recognize that serious games represent a supplementary device to traditional physical and emotional therapy.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to grasp the actual conditions of enjoins the computer games of full 5 years old children in a kindergarten as basical datas to explore ways of program which protects overimmersion in the Internet games. we used 'The early children's actual renditions of enjoying the computer games' making up a question papers which are established questions by me based on the characteristic of research object and preceding research about diagnosis table of addicted internet in Young and passed confidence and propriety.

Generating a Ball Sport Scene in a Virtual Environment

  • In sports video games, especially ball games, motion capture techniques are used to reproduce the ball-driven performances. The amount of motion data needed to create different situations in which athletes exchange balls is bound to increase exponentially with resolution. This paper proposes how avatars in virtual worlds can not only imitate professional athletes in ball games, but also create and edit their actions effectively. First, various ball-handling movements are recorded using motion sensors. We do not really have to control an actual ball; imitating the motions is enough. Next, motion is created by specifying what to pass the ball through, and then making motion to handle the ball in front of the motion sensor. The ball's occupant then passes the ball to the user-specified target through a motion that imitates the user's, and the process is repeated. The method proposed can be used as a convenient user interface for motion based games for players who handle balls.

  • As use of Internet increase, IoT(Internet Of Things), a interaction between connected devices, is widely used throughout industrial area. In this paper, we discussed what to consider when planning framework for contents using user's mobile devices and various sensors in IoT environment and suggest related techniques. Also, using the techniques suggested in this paper, we showed the prototype of the framework. Finally, we showed the possibility of games in the IoT environment by creating game in the IoT environment.

Web3 Business Model Innovation Approach and Cases of Korean Game Giants

  • We analyze the types of Web3 business model innovation (BMI) of the six major Korean game companies by market size. As a result of the analysis, Nexon is watched as the adapter. It introduces blockchain (BC) layer 2, 'Polygon' to the extended ecosystem such as the creator's secondary creation, item utility, and compensation experience using the existing core intellectual property (IP). KakaoGames and Neowiz are watched as the adventurers. KakaoGames introduces BC layer 2, 'Polygon' and 'Near Protocol' to various experiments using tokenomics models in casual games and massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) using several existing popular IPs. Neowiz also introduces BC layer 2, 'Polygon' and 'Avalanche' to the IntellaX platform using existing game IPs. As the reinventor, Netmable positions as a game publisher that releases third-party games based on multi-chain infrastructure such as Klaytn, BNB Chain, Near Protocol, Aptos Foundation, and introduces BC to new core IPs. Finally, there are Wemade and Com2us as the mavericks. They aim to be the Web3 platform operators that create a BC layer 1 ecosystem and provide services that encompass BC games, GameFi, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Here are the implications of the four types of BMI. In terms of infrastructure, Nexon, KakaoGames, and Neowiz try to introduce a part of cross-chain, whereas Netmable tries to move toward a complete multi-chain strategy, and Wemade and Com2us also try to consider multi-chain, even if they have the full BC introduction. In terms of defending against market decline, Nexon and Netmable have a different position. Nexon which has a greater market dominance, only tries to continuously experiment, but Netmable is aggressively focusing on monetizing new products. Attacks on growth aspirations also show two different positions. KakaoGames and Neowiz only try to aggressively explore, while WeMade and Com2us try to set new standards for industrial innovation.

Characteristics and Comparison of Popular Channels on Internet Game Broadcasting: Focus on Twitch TV (인터넷 게임 방송에서 나타나는 인기 채널의 특징과 비교: Twitch TV를 중심으로)

  • This study analyzes popular channels of America's Twitch TV that centers on video game among several Internet broadcasting services. Afreeca TV de facto monopolizes the Internet broadcasting industry in South Korea; however, Twitch TV is popular around the globe and tries to expand business in Korea. Specifically, this study collects data of popular domestic/international channels on every Friday 9:00 p.m. 20 times, and examines differences of between those channels: 1) the number of the audience(users) 2) the frequency of games 3) the genre of games 4) nationality of games. Internet broadcasting streaming service does not have a concept of ratings, but it could be categorized as popular based on users connecting the channels. Thus, this study studies characteristics of Twitch TV, and further discusses the future of the Internet broadcasting.

Research of Character Design in Side-scrolling Horror Puzzle Games

  • The third-person side view game perspective of side-scrolling games makes playing such games a completely different gaming experience from other traditional games. Nowadays, many game elements are combined with each other, and horror and puzzle elements are often combined to appear in side-scrolling games, bringing players a unique gaming experience. In such games, players seem to be watching their own manipulation of characters. The performance is the same as a stage play, so how to let players better experience such a horror and puzzle-solving stage play through the design of the characters is a key point. However, it is often difficult to accurately classify only from game elements, so first of all, the author will explain the game division of the side scrolling horror puzzle game. After that, this article will analyze the character designs in the three works with high sales and good reputation on Steam, and then draw conclusions.

Internet Addiction and Life Satisfaction of Chinese Students in Korea (중국 유학생의 유학생활 만족도와 인터넷 중독에 관한 연구)

  • As the number of Chinese students in Korea has significantly increased, the problems of students' life and academic achievement has appeared obviously. Utilizing an analysis on the relationship between the life satisfaction of Chinese students in Korea and the degree of internet addiction, the purposes of this research are to improve the quality of Chinese students' life and to contribute to the growth of Chinese students in Korea. A questionnaire-type survey was conducted on 350 Chinese college students in Daegu. The results of this study are as follows: First, the used time on internet games, chat and on-line TV differs from gender, the duration of internet games and their academic performance. Second, there are significant differences by gender, Korean ability, and academic performance in the life satisfaction of Chinese students in Korea. Third, Chinese college students in Korea are more addicted in the internet than Korean or Chinese college students at their own country. Fourth, the longer playing online game, the longer watching online TV, the less communicating with the Koreans, and the less satisfying with non -study related activities, the more Chinese college students of studying in Korea are addicted in the internet.

Game Sprite Generator Using a Multi Discriminator GAN

  • This paper proposes an image generation method using a Multi Discriminator Generative Adversarial Net (MDGAN) as a next generation 2D game sprite creation technique. The proposed GAN is an Autoencoder-based model that receives three areas of information-color, shape, and animation, and combines them into new images. This model consists of two encoders that extract color and shape from each image, and a decoder that takes all the values of each encoder and generates an animated image. We also suggest an image processing technique during the learning process to remove the noise of the generated images. The resulting images show that 2D sprites in games can be generated by independently learning the three image attributes of shape, color, and animation. The proposed system can increase the productivity of massive 2D image modification work during the game development process. The experimental results demonstrate that our MDGAN can be used for 2D image sprite generation and modification work with little manual cost.

  • Education systems have made efforts to prepare students by providing technical and nontechnical courses. With video games, however, there is the potential to develop dedicated metaverses that can help teach soft skills even during casual pastimes. The research conducted will propose a set of design practices for metaverse and game development to promote soft skills. While there are many soft skills people can acquire, this paper will focus on certain aspects based on specific games and studies. There will be some information collected from the information to support the design model and arguments. This paper will provide developers with a starting point for imaginative game creation and impart users with soft skills to assist in their professions and social life.
