The marine equipment industry in Korea has been growing along with shipbuilding industry since early 1980s. Major shipbuilding might be predicted to shift to China in the near future. Moreover, new paradigm of e-navigation is about to get geared in the real world, which was specifically noted by IMO (International Maritime Organization). In order to catch up with rapid changes in the environments, the industry sector should move fast, the public sector should setup proper measures, and the academic sector should spur the research and development of new technologies. In this paper, international marin equipment markets and standardization trends are presented along with several representative R&D activities.

The research and development trend of Trajectory-based Operations(TBO), which is considered as a key concept of future Air Traffic Management(ATM), is presented in this paper. The operational concepts of TBO in ASBU(Aviation System Block Upgrade) from ICAO(International Civil Aviation Organization) have been summarized, and the detailed operational concepts and procedures, which can be realized in the near future, are described through the investigations of operational concept development and related research/development activities of TBO in USA and Europe. The technical enablers, which have been identified based on understanding of TBO operational concepts, are introduced, and related research/development status of each technical enabler has been presented.

The purpose of this study was to predict the performance of female weightlifters using time series analysis. Based on this purpose, a time series analysis was used to calculate the performance prediction model for women(58kg) among the domestic women weightlifters who participated in the Olympics. As a result of creating time series data based on 10 years of record and then evaluating the sequential charts of each athlete group, the female athletes' records did not show any seasonality or difference. In addition, after examining the independence of the data through the creation of a time series model, it was shown that the models produced conformed to the criteria for compliance and that there was no difference in the data, but there was a trend. Accordingly, Holt linear trend analysis of the exponential smoothing model was applied. As a result of deriving the prediction model of the athletes through this process, it was found that the women (58kg) who participated in the Olympics continued to improve within the range of 166.11kg to 184.1kg.

Korea Aerospace Research Institute(KARI) is developing COMS (Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite) which is scheduled to take off in June, 2009. COMS is the first geosynchronous satellite developed in Korea which is able to perform three missions 24 hours a day. The oceanic payload was transferred from France to Korea in November, 2008 and made it possible to integrate all three payload together. After the integration COMS is planned to be transferred to Guiana Space Center (on French territory) to be launched. In this paper the trend of domestic and international development of the multi-purpose geosynchronous satellite considering the COMS is the first operational geosynchronous multipurpose satellite in the world.

As international standards of ICT were recently recognized as a essential strategy to penetrate into global markets in advance, the competition for international standardization among advanced countries and companies has been intensified. Also, the convergence of ICT and other industry as well as that of ICT and broadcasting has caused the expansion of range and importance in standardization. It is necessary to set up the strategy of standardization on essential technology and implement it systematically in order to take leading position in global market of IC in smart information society of the 21th century. Therefore, in this paper, I'll suggest constructive strategies of standardization through analyzing the trend and environment of IC standardization.

This study aimed to analyze research trend of the trade show industry in Korea and further to suggest the future direction on the research area where industrial strategies and governmental supports can be made. From 2001 to 2011 by order of 11-year study by analyzing research trends and future direction of policy more effective marketing strategy is precisely to provide direction for research. For the purpose of this study, 169 articles from 49 national level journals of Korea was classified and analyzed. 30 researches in 2005 was published research papers related to the exhibition industry was grew rapidly. According to the analysis, participants behavior of trade show were the most important topic with 33 articles. Various statistical methods such as ANOVA, structural equation model, path analysis, t-test and regression were used. However the study methods of these researches didn't make much progress. The result of this study indicated that we need to study more about the trade show industry of Korea, especially about local economic development and regional demand of trade show.

A life insurance industry's market is reaching a state of saturation recently, and the competition is as time goes by intense among the non-life insurance industry. Consequently, the insurance companies must grope a new source of revenue and develop a new business model for a stability growth. At the forked road, the insurance companies must group the existing and new customers in order to find the royal customers, and develop a new service with them. Accordingly, it is the time to study the advance of PB field and the royal customer management that will maintain and expand the new relations with them. Besides, the PB was the service to begin in needs of the specific group, but now it is regarded as a new source of high profit in the age of universal financial service among the financial circles. As a consequence, the PB marketing is introduced in haste, and such trend seems to be continued. Therefore, the plans that help the domestic insurance company reflect the characteristic of the insurance and expand the scope of business into the scope of property management according to the needs of customers under a universal financial service trend will be studied.

As a railway is receiving attention as an environment-friendly transportation mode, many high speed, inter-city and urban railway are constructed and remodeled in the world. With this trend, railway RAMS was included in the international standard IEC 62278 in 2002. RAMS activity in domestic market is also increased with this international trend. However, IEC 62278 does not describe the methodology of substantial contents like how reliability target is set although it can be used as an overall guideline when RAMS requirements are included in the purchase specification. That is because RAMS requirements should be set with the specific railway condition. It is required to fully understand the meaning of railway RAMS parameters and apply those correspond to the specific railway system and environment condition especially when a quantitative RAMS requirement is set. In this study, the meaning and characteristics of RAMS parameters applicable to the development of quantitative RAMS requirement of rolling stock is described. And the basic concept of RAMS and the definition of failure that IEC 62278 describes is modified and suggested in order to make more suitable to the development of quantitative RAMS requirement.

With the advent of Ubiquitous era, Korean government understood its strategic importance and formulated 'IT839 Strategies' with various action plans not to miss the great opportunities which it may allow and eventually to realize u-Korea. As a result, m-Commerce is actualized and new types of Ubiquitous services such as digital multimedia broadcasting(DMB) and wireless broadband Internet(WiBro) are now on their commercial stages. Digital contents are the key success factors of these new services. Digital contents industry is regarded as next generation of growth engine in the digital economy, because it is knowledge-based and high value-added global industry affecting positively on the whole private and public sectors. This paper reviewed the characteristics, business models, technical and market trend of digital contents to be compatible with Ubiquitous environment. Also, it reviewed the development strategies of DMB and WiBro services, which are newly introduced and commercialized in Korea to make it as world leader in these fields. It may be concluded that Korea should make more efforts to development market-oriented digital contents for Ubiquitous era and to realize the sustained economic growth.

In the liner market, a strategy is hard to sustain as competitors can easily imitate the strategy. For examples, when a number of shipping companies pursue this space exchange strategy in a liner market, their competitors are likely to build a cooperative alliance, following similar strategic pattern without any difficulty. Such strategic imitations are universal in international liner market. Therefore, the success of global alliance requires following critical considerations. First, the strategy of global alliance should be designed the way it gives the liner operators an economy of scale, which could be a key advantage in the competitive market. Second, thorough global alliance the lines should be able to improve their transport service through the reduction of operating costs and the business rationalization. The international alliance today is characterized by a strategic cooperation among a limited number of 'mega-carriers'. Such cooperation between the large-sized operators has come in many different forms. However, the trend has been towards the space exchange agreement, where a carrier on a route offers to another carrier a fixed number of spaces for a fixed period of time. the major carriers have been entered into groupings by integrating their services structures to increase market power. With reference to the above, this study has the following primary objectives: (1) to explore the present status of global alliance in liner shipping industry, (2) to prospect the future trend of the global alliance.
