  • The purpose of this paper is to review the major issues of trade facilitation that have been discussing in relevant international organization such as WTO, WCO, UN/ECE, and UNCTAD In recent years the term, trade facilitation, has become extremely popular and, therefore, applied to an ever-growing number of activities. Trade Facilitation encompasses the simplification, standardization, harmonization and elimination of the procedures, data requirements and administration involved in an international trade transaction. The facilitation of trade procedures is seen by all major international business as vital for economic development. Several factors are fuelling the need for trade facilitation of which two are the globalization of international trade and the rapid IT-development. Another important factor includes increased economic integration by an explosion of regional and bilateral free-trade agreement that often feature complex customs requirements. Technological progress has also introduced faster and cheaper forms of transportation and transportation management techniques, such as the increased use of e-business and JIT. The Internet is also fragmenting containers of goods that could have been custom cleared on a single entry into dozens of individual shipments that each require separate customs documents and clearance procedures. This creates a challenge for express couriers who anticipate exponential growth in small shipments by individual consumers, as compared to shipment by wholesalers or retailers. These consumers expect goods to be cleared immediately. It is no wonder that express couriers are actively promoting, and participating in the trade facilitation agenda.

However, these studies theoretically provided the possibilities and limitations of each alternative. To check recent changes in trade practices, our research analyzed payment methods in international trade e-marketplace. Using company and product information obtained from Alibaba.com, we analyzed payment methods used in this e-marketplace and examined determination factors for new payment methods. According to the results of logistic regression analysis, we found a relationship between new payment method and factors such as market competition and the age of the company. Also, providing Paypal payments showed a correlation with market competition and price level of products as well as e-commerce infrastructure. Though these study results feature limitations in the generalization of results, it contributes to the research on payment method trends in international trade.

The Financial Supply Chain compromise the entire trade processes and information that manage a trader's cash, Accounts payable and receivable, Risk, working capital, and so on in international trade transaction. From a buyer's perspective, this involves the full procurement-to-payment process. For the seller, it is the order-to-cash cycle. Bolero provides the party concerned a e-trade platform which conformed to these fundamental pre-requisites to underpin fully electronic trade. But this FSCM solution have failed to provide the efficient platform to effectively manage the process of Global e-Trade because it does not correspond with e-Trade environment. • In order to implement e-trade infrastructure through the radical innovation of trade process, e-trade platform which is called 'uTradehub' has been developed for three years. After pilot operation of this platform in 2007, the formal service of e-trade such as logistics, customs and foreign exchanges had been provided in 2008. However, the usage of e-Trade platform is not the level of users' satisfaction because trade-related communities have not actively participated into e-trade platform and several functions with users requirements are necessary to develop additionally. In this regard, there are strong demands to suggest some strategies for application and usage proliferation of e-trade platform. Therefore, this paper would like to evaluate the current status of e-trade platform service and usage by the theoretical consideration of preceding researches and practical analysis of statistical data. Then, it will explore several service improvement ideas in terms of system supplementation and integration, electronic documents standardization, radical change of using fee, global connection, user oriented education and advertisement.

  • This thesis examines the problems faced in the electronic trade specialized service provider for which improvements are necessary, and suggests various ways of overcoming those problems. First, from the legal aspect, it is necessary to clarify the scope of duties as well as to expand the threshold for entrance and business areas through the amendment of related laws. Second, from the operating aspect, the e-trade specialized service provider should be able to provide convenient work spaces through user-centered interface by connecting, integrating, automating and simplifying various services scattered around through the establishment of an operating system. Third, from the institutional aspect, trade firms should be able to perform e-trade duties without difficulties by specializing and increasing the size of the e-trade specialized service provider system and strengthening job competence. For this, it is required to improve legal registration requirements to enhance the reliability of the e-trade specialized service provider system and secure its financial capacity.
