This study deals with transfer passengers in hub airports. The research objective is to derive measures for transfer passenger quantity enhancement at Incheon International Airport by applying Analytic Hierarchy Process. In pursuing the above objective, this study conducted a survey to evaluate various selection criteria for choosing transfer airports and ranked attributes in weight order with Analytic Hierarchy Process. Furthermore, based on the trend analysis of Incheon International Airport's transfer passenger movement, this paper analysed main transit routes of Incheon International Airports against competitor airports among the region. The main result found from the study is flight frequency, ticket price and connecting hour were the most important 3 factors when people choose transit airports. Therefore, it is recommended government, airport authority and airlines to cooperate closely to meet the transfer passengers' needs on frequency, price and transit hour of flights.

This study made an attempt at the empirical analysis of the influence of domestic, foreign economic changes on economy in Incheon & Incheon International Airport. For this purpose, this study, setting up the member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development(OECD), Incheon Metropolitan City, and Incheon International Airport as research objects, conducted multi-regression analysis and path analysis of 11-year economic changes after the opening of the Incheon International Airport in 2001. As a research result, it was found that internal, external economic changes didn't show a positive influence on economy in Incheon, and growth & revitalization of the Incheon International Airport while international economic factors showed a directly positive influence on economy in Incheon, but the total effect directly related to Korean economy showed a negative influence. Accordingly, economy in Incheon has to actively cope with home, foreign macroeconomic change factors, and further, the endogenous growth strategy is required; as the methodolog.

Demand for air transportation in Korea keeps increasing, and the number of airport operations also grows as a result. The major two airports in Korea, Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport, share the metropolitan airspace, which is crowd with air traffic. As air traffic increases in the metropolitan airspace, the demand for the airport operations would outnumber the capacities of these airports. However, there is a room to efficiently manage the shortage of the airport capacity due to the different distributions of operations in these airports. This study presents a dynamic slot allocation that allows exchanging slots according to the traffic demand. The dynamic allocation mitigates the airports' capacity problem but the airspace capacity itself should be increased in order to tackle the problem fundamentally.

To prepare for the ever-increasing demand for air transport, airport operators should be well aware of the timing of the saturation of the facility and increase the capacity of the airport through extension or extension. The capacity of an airport is determined by the smallest value of the facilities that make up the airport, but it is generally customary to determine the capacity of the costly and time-consuming runway as a whole for the airport. For analyzing the capacity of the runway capacity, the study used the most accurate microscopic air traffic simulation, Simmod-PRO, to analyze the saturation time of three runways currently in Incheon International Airport's operation, and calculate the appropriate time for operation of the 4th runway. The study also calculate the relocation of Airport's high-speed exit taxiway for analyzing the increasing of capacity.

The purpose of this paper is to design a survey of passenger satisfaction by using the Likert five-scale for the passengers of Incheon International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport in China, and to combine the actual service situation of the airports in the two countries, using SPSS statistical software. Analyze and process statistics. Using the questionnaire survey method and exploratory factor analysis method, the airport service quality is analyzed to analyze the impact model of customer satisfaction. We will sort out the customer satisfaction with the two airports, compare and analyze the gaps in airport services between the two countries, and identify problems to formulate optimization and improvement plans.

This paper discusses the qualification criteria for international hub airport and suggests the strategies for Inchon International Airport (IIA) to be the hub airport in the East Asia. Recently, many East and Southeast Asia countries have invested on large scale international airports like Chap Lak Kok airport, Pudong airport etc.. as Korea have done on IIA. IIA to be open in 2001 will face a serious competition with these airport. Being a hub airport requires geographic proximity. sufficient volume of local traffic. uncongested infrastructure, a good accessibility to surrounding industrial centers. high quality of service to the airline. In order to promote airlines to land at IIA. Korea Government need to establish Open Sky Policy to many countries and national flag carriers of Korea need to be involved in a global alliance. Developing vicinity of IIA as free trade zone will generated more local traffic which makes IIA as more attractive candidate for airlines. The Korea airspace is one of the most restricted area in the world becuase of the national security. which limits civil aircraft maneuvers. The airspace need to be re-structured to exploit the full capacity of IIA.

Kimpo international airport logistics complex had been the most busiest airfreight gateway in Korea during last century but, after the grand open of Incheon international airport in 2001, it had lost its major role as a national airfreight hub facilities. However, owing to its locational advantages in Seoul metropolitan area. Kimpo airport logistics park still acts like an urban logistics distribution center in these days. Caused by the KAC's profit oriented policies, the Kimpo airport logistics park's public function as an urban distribution center might be curtailed in the future. Therefore, several laws and ordinances related to national and regional logistics strategies should be modified to prevent it.

This research has been carried out for assessing the competitiveness of the major Asian airports based on the quality of service provision. Five airports were selected for evaluation: Hong Kong, Singapore Changi, Tokyo Narita, Bangkok Don Muang, and Seoul Incheon International Airport. For evaluation of these selected airports, AHP and IPA techniques were applied. Five main factors were defined through a literature review of previous studies: concreteness, convenience, economic efficiency, respondency, and accessability. Hong Kong International Airport had the strongest airport in the Asian region, followed by Incheon International Airport. The least competitive airports were Bangkok and Tokyo Narita International Airport in regards to users' perception for the provision of services at the airport.

Busan Gimhae Airport is a major airline base in Busan Gyeongnam and is close to Busan Harbor, With close the five largest ports in the world, GimHae has not been developed to fit the size and role of the port. Currently, there is an increasing number of flights and airline companies in use, but it is already foreseen that the airport has become a saturating airport and a military airport. Therefore, the lack of awareness of the importance of GimHae Airport and the lack of routes for airlines are a problem for KimHae Airport. This study considers the reduction of logistics cost and time due to the expansion of the international airport by anticipating the development of Busan International Airport centered on the ship supplies logistics based on the present point of time and the development plan of Busan Kimhae Airport. In addition, we review the priority of major air routes based on prefabricated logistics, and examine the contributions to the port logistics industry in Busan.
