In the large steel ingosts, void defects exhibiting microvoid shapes are inevitably formed in the V-segregation zone of the ingots during solidification. In the hot open-die forging process, material properties are improved by eliminating internal porosity. The void size is practically very small as compared with the huge large ingot. Thus, for deformation analysis of a large ingot, a massive number of elements are needed in order to describe a void surface and to uniform mesh sturcture. In the present work the Global/Local scheme has been introduced in order to reduce the computational time and to easily generate the mesh system as a void module of local mesh for obtaining the accurate solution around a void. The procedure of the global- local method consists of two steps. In the first step global analysis is carried out which seeks a reasonably good solution with a cpurse mesh system without describing a void. Then, a local analysis is performed locally with a fine mesh system under the size-criterion of a local region. The computational time has been greatly reduced. Though the work it has been shown that large ingot forging incorporation small voids can be effectively analyzed by using the proposed Global/Local scheme.
In the fabrication of sponge cakes, wheat flour was substituted by Dioscorea Japonica flour at 3%, 6%, and 9% (C1, C2, and C3, respectively), and the sensory, physicochemical, texture properties, viable cell counts and chromaticity of the samples were investigated and compared with the control cake (C0). The addition of Dioscorea Japonica flour increased the density of the sponge cake, but decreased the size and moisture content of the cakes (C0〉C1〉C2〉C3). The pH value increased with increasing Dioscorea Japonica flour in the sponge cakes, and the microbial growth was remarkably suppressed by Dioscorea Japonica flour compared with the control. There was an increase in the chromaticity of the sponge cakes with increased Dioscorea Japonica flour in the cakes. Also, the hardness, gumminess, and chewiness were enhanced approximately two times higher than those of control by increasing Dioscorea Japonica flour. In the sensory evaluation, the addition of Dioscorea Japonica flour into sponge cakes showed a significant increment in the internal color, size/uniformity of the voids, and the sweetness, while the adhesiveness and moistness were the highest in the control. The overall preference was in the order C0〉C2〉C3〉Cl, and therefore, the substitution of 6% of wheat flour by Dioscorea Japonica was recommended in the fabrication of sponge cakes.
The permeable polymer-modified concrete has a lot of internal voids, which has more excellent performance in permeability and durability than asphalt and cement concrete. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to ascertain the strength properties of water-permeable polymer concretes with SBR latex and redispersible polymer powder. The water-permeable polymer concretes using SBR latex and redispersible polymer powder with water-binder ratio of 29 %, polymer-cement ratios of 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 % are prepared, and tested for compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, flexural strength, water permeablility. From the test results, improvements in the strength properties of the water-permeable polymer concretes due to the addition of the SBR latex and redispersible polymer powder are discussed.
80pF capacitive couplers were connected to six 6.6kV motor model coil terminals. The voltage applied to the coils were 3.81kv, 4.76 kV and 6.6kV, respectively. These stator coils have various types of artificial insulation defects such as large voids, semi-conductive coating damage and strand insulation fault. Digital PD detector(PDD) and turbine generator analyzer(TGA) were used to measure PD activity. TGA summarizes each plot with two quantities such as the normalized quantity number(NQN) and the peak PD magnitude(Qm). The PD levels in PD were measured with a conventional digital PD detector. Most of the defect mechanism of large motor stator winding can be associated with PD patterns such as internal and slot discharges. PD patterns coincide with PDD and TGA. These instruments have an input bandwidth of 40-400kHz and 0.1-350MHz. Surge testing detects faults in inter-turn winding of high voltage motor model coils.

Recently, the spread of intense social distancing and untact culture due to COVID-19 has increased the time spent indoors. In addition, according to the International Cancer Institute, fine dust was classified as a first-class carcinogen, a substance found to be carcinogenic, such as asbestos and benzene. As a result, interest in indoor air quality is increasing, and many studies are underway to reduce air pollutants. This study is a basic experiment of a board made to improve indoor air quality. The basic characteristics of the board, flexural strength and compressive strength, are analyzed and the results of the test are as follows. Experiments have shown that flexural strength and compressive strength tend to decrease as the replacement rate of hydrocarbons increases. It is believed that the strength of the sludge has decreased due to the increase in internal voids due to the increase in non-surface area, volume and diameter of microfiber as it undergoes the carbonation process. In addition, it is believed that the amount of moisture needed for curing during the mixing process was reduced due to the absorption of hydrocarbons.

The pore distribution of the cement mortar mixed with carbon nanotubes was found to have a large number of pores at (370~80)㎛, and the distribution ratio was larger as the carbon nanotubes were mixed. However, the pores with a fine particle diameter of (10-0.5) ㎛ were found to be larger as the carbon nanotubes were incorporated. However, the distribution of pores of the test specimens of conductive cement mortar with deterioration damage was found to be distributed in a number of particle diameters of (500 to 100) ㎛ and (10 to 0.5) ㎛. It is judged that the particle diameter of the internal pores increased due to the damage. However, as the mixing ratio of the test specimen with carbon nanotubes increased, the distribution of voids was relatively lower than that of plain, and it was judged to have excellent resistance to deterioration damage.

This study intends to conduct tests on subsidence and drying shrinkage by mixing CaO-CSA expansion materials to ensure the stability of CLC, and to understand its properties. Based on CLC of 0.6, the replacement ratio of CaO-CSA expansion material was conducted at five levels compared to blast furnace slag, and the results are as follows. The replacement of CaO-CSA expansion material at an appropriate level produces ethringhite and potassium hydroxide, and it is believed that the internal voids of CLC and the Tobelmorite interlayer structure are charged to increase the structural stability, leading to an increase in compressive strength and a decrease in the drying shrinkage. However, it is judged that tissue relaxation due to excessive substances in the high replacement ratio affects the stability of CLC. In the future, we will conduct additional experiments on density, absorption rate, flow test, and settlement, and evaluate and analyze the stability of CLC by selecting the optimal replacement ratio of CaO-CSA expansion materials.

An isogeometric topological shape optimization method is developed using the level sets and Heaviside enrichments. In the level set method, the initial domain is kept fixed and its boundary is represented by an implicit moving boundary embedded in the level set functions, which facilitates to handle complicated topological shape changes. The Heaviside enrichment improves the isogeometric analysis by adding some enrichment functions to model the internal boundaries. The proposed topological shape optimization method has several benefits: exact geometric models can be obtained using the isogeometric approach and the limitation of tensor-product patches can be overcome using the Heaviside enrichments to represent the internal voids. Even in a single patch, discontinuous displacement fields as well as smooth stress field can be obtained. Since the level sets offer the implicit moving boundary inside the domain, it is easy to represent the topological shape variations in the isogeometric analysis using Heaviside enrichments.
PURPOSES : The use of roller-compacted concrete pavement (RCCP) is an environmentally friendly method of construction that utilizes the aggregate interlock effect by means of a hydration reaction and roller compacting, demonstrating a superb structural performance with a relatively small unit water content and unit cement content. However, even if an excellent structural performance was secured through a previous study, the verification research on the environmental load and long-term durability was conducted under unsatisfactory conditions. In order to secure longterm durability, the construction of an appropriate internal air-void structure is required. In this study, a method of improving the long-term durability of RCCP will be suggested by analyzing the internal air-void structure and relevant durability of roller-compacted concrete. METHODS : The method of improving the long-term durability involves measurements of the air content, air voids, and air-spacing factor in RCCP that experiences a change in terms of the kind of air-entraining agent and chemical admixture proportions. This test should be conducted on the basis of test criteria such as ASTM C 457, 672, and KS F 2456. RESULTS : Freezing, thawing, and scaling resistance tests of roller compacted concrete without a chemical admixture showed that it was weak. However, as a result of conducting air entraining (AE) with an AE agent, a large amount of air was distributed with a range of 2~3%, and an air void spacing factor ranging from 200 to $300{\mu}m$ (close to $250{\mu}m$) coming from PCA was secured. Accordingly, the freezing and thawing resistance was improved, with a relative dynamic elastic modulus of more than 80%, and the scaling resistance was improved under the appropriate AE agent content rate. CONCLUSIONS : The long-term durability of RCCP has a direct relationship with the air-void spacing factor, and it can be secured only by ensuring the air void spacing factor through air entraining with the inclusion of an AE agent.
The prefabricated type used generally in Korea to join cable runs on new installations or to repair broken Cable runs on existing installations, because installation is very simple and save time. This type is a permanent, shielded and submersible cable joint for direct burial or vault application. It confirms to the requirements of IEEE std. 404-1993 by factory testing, but many problems of insulated cable systems are caused by internal defects of the joint part which have to be mounted ensile. Faults arise from impurities or voids. A suitable solution for a monitoring of cable joints during the after-laying test and service is partial discharge detection. Specimen obtained 1mm thickness from the insulation of real power cable and cable joint. <중략>The partial discharges are measured to determine their time dependence for 60 minutes and the influence of applied electrical stress under 30kV. $\Phi-q-n$ properties were measured using detection impedance, high pass filter and computerized data acquisition system. Statistic Value like maximum charge, repetition rate, average charge, etc. are calculated. It is possible to quantitative analysis of $\Phi-q-n$ properties from this statistic value and pattern analysis.
