  • Reinforced open cell micro structured foams were prepared by the polymerization of high internal phase emulsions incorporating inorganic thickeners. Organoclays were used as oil phase thickener, and sodium montmorillonite was used as aqueous phase thickener. Rheological properties of emulsions increased as oil phase thickener concentration and agitation speed increased, due to the reduced drop size reflecting both competition between continuous and dispersed phase viscosities and increase of shear force. Drop size variation with thickener concentration could be explained by a dimensional analysis between capillary number and viscosity ratio. Upon the foams polymerized by the emulsions, compression properties, such as crush strength and Young's modulus were measured and compared. Among the microcellular foams, the foam incorporated with an organoclay having reactive group showed outstanding properties. It is speculated that the exfoliated silicate layers inside polystyrene matrix, resulting in nanocomposite foam, are the main reason why this foam has enhanced properties.

  • Although Titanium material has superior properties, it belongs to difficult-to-machine materials. The present research applies magnetic abrasive finishing to precision machining of internal-face of titanium pipes, and analyzed & assessed the influence of grinding conditions on magnetic abrasive effects through the removed amount and surface roughness of materials. There was the influence on grinding properties according to change of rotational speed, a total input of mixed powder and an input of grinding liquid, and when the total input, rotational speed and ratio of electrolytic iron versus magnetic abrasives are 8g and 1000rpm, it was most advantageous in aspects of surface roughness and material removal amount, and the grinding liquid remarkably improved the surface roughness and material removal amount only with addition of trace amounts of light oil rather than dry machining conditions. And a result of considering the influence on grinding properties by using an inert gas (Argon gas) for improving grinding properties of the internal-face of titanium pipe, the present research has obtained improvement effects in the removal amount and surface roughness through utilization of an inert gas.

  • The aim of this research was to investigate physical and mechanical properties of various composition panels, each fabricated with a ratio of fiber to particle of 2 to 10. Type A consisted of fiber-faces and particle-core in layered-mat system. Type B consisted of fiberboard-faces on particleboard-core. Type C consisted of fibers and particles in mixed-mat system. The results obtained from tests of bending strength, internal bond, screw holding strength and stability were as follows: 1. The bending strength and internal bonding of both the Type A panel and the Type B panel were higher than those of the Type C panel and three-layered particle board. 2. The mechanical properties of the Type C panel showed the lowest values of all composition methods. It seems that the different compression ratios of the particle and fiber interrupted the densification of the fibers when hot pressed. 3. The dimensional stability of layered-mat system panels consising of fiber-faces and particle-core was better the than control particleboard. 4. In composition methods of particle and fiber, layered-composition method was more resonable than mixed-composition. The Type B panel had the highest mechanical properties of all the composition types. 5. The Type A panel was considered the ideal composition method because of its resistance to delamination between the particle-layer and the fiber-layer and because of its lower adhesive content and more effective manufa cturing process.

  • Marketing strategists believe that the best way to satisfy customers is through satisfied employees. In fashion retail businesses, salespersons play a pivotal role for the success of business, since fashion products have emotional properties and customers' emotion is largely affected by personal selling at the point of purchases. The present study aims to examine relationships among internal service quality, job satisfaction, and organizational performance in fashion retail businesses. Specifically, the study will test the validity of applying service quality concept to the internal service targeting the sales person of fashion retailers and identify dimensions of internal service quality. Data were collected from salespersons of women's wear and imported brand stores at four major department stores. 205 survey responses were used for the final analysis. The factor analysis extracted empathy/tangibility, assurance, responsiveness and reliability factors. The structural path analysis and effect analysis indicated that the importance of assurance and responsiveness of internal service quality had significant direct effects on job satisfaction and significant indirect effects on organizational performance. Reliability dimension of internal service quality had a significant direct effect on job satisfaction. The importance of empathy/tangibility dimension, however, was relatively weak in the model.

  • Objective : This paper was designed to confirm the relation between Li Dong-yuan(李東垣)'s theory of internal injury(內傷學說) and Neo-confucianism(新儒學)'s academic orientation, particularly Zhang Heung-qu(張橫渠)'s 'Qi-monism(氣一元論)'. Method : Through a comparative literature review, I searched for the commonality between Li Dong-yuan(李東垣)'s theory of internal injury(內傷學說) and Neo-confucianism(新儒學)'s academic orientation, particularly Zhang Heung-qu(張橫渠)'s 'Qi-monism(氣一元論)', and also examined the difference in the meaning of 'Primordial Qi(元氣)' in Qi-monism and that Lee Dong-yuan proposed. Result & Conclusion : The central theme of Neo-confucianism, 'Staying on the Golden Path(允執厥中)', has a commonality with Li Dong-yuan's theory of internal injury that emphasized Primordial Qi, and the concepts of "Great Vacuity as Qi(太虛卽氣)", "Two Properties Inherent in a Single Object(一物兩體)", and "the Nature of Acquired Disposition(氣質之性)" have commonality with the concepts of "The Given from the Vacuity of Natural World(所受於天)", Up & Down Movement(升降運動), and Yin Fire(陰火) of Primordial Qi in Li Dong-yuan's theory of internal injury respectively. However, the concept of Primordial Qi in the Theory of Qi-monism refers to the building blocks of all things in the universe, whereas the concept of Primordial Qi that Li Dong-yuan proposed has no meaning of component of body but driving force that maintains the phenomenon of life.

  • The characteristics of Paulownia coreana wood used for sounding boards has been revealed through this study. The 80 specimens were selected from Paulownia coreana wood. The dynamic Young's modulus, the internal friction and resonant frequency of wood were measured by the method of making a rectangular bar resonate in the audio frequency range. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. The average values of the specific gravity, the dynamic Young's modulus and the internal friction concerning Paulownia coreana used for sounding boards are $0.252{\pm}0.022$, $(0.494{\pm}0.068){\times}10^{11}$ dyne/cm and $(7.89{\pm}1.692){\times}10^{-3}$ respectively. 2. The average values of resonant frequency, the velosity of sound, and K values are $504{\pm}24.298$ Hz, $5018{\pm}219.83$m/s, and $(9.907{\pm}2.05){\times}10^{-4}$ respectively. 3. The dynamic Young's modulus of Paulownia coreana increases with the increase of the specific gravity, and that on the contrary the internal friction decreases. 4. The dynamic Young's modulus was abruptly decreased as the moisture content of wood specimens was increased up to the fiber saturation point, and the internal friction was linearly increased as the moisture content of wood specimens were increased. 5. The vibration properties of Paulownia coreana are that the dynamic Young's modulus is fairly high, the internal friction is low, and the ratio of Young's modulus to specific gravity shows large value.

  • The effect of high temperature-moisture on corrosion and mechanical properties for Sn-0.7Cu, Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu (SAC305) solders on flexible substrate was studied using Highly Accelerated Temperature/Humidity Stress Test (HAST) followed by three-point bending test. Both Sn-0.7Cu and SAC305 solders produced the internal $SnO_2$ oxides. Corrosion occurred between the solder and water film near flexible circuit board/copper component. For the SAC305 solder with Ag content, furthermore, octahedral corrosion products were formed near Ag3Sn. For the SAC305 and Sn-0.7Cu solders, the amount of internal oxide increased with the HAST time and the amount of internal oxides was mostly constant regardless of Ag content. The size of the internal oxide was larger for the Sn-0.7Cu solder. Despite of different size of the internal oxide, the fracture time during three-point bending test was not significantly changed. It was because the bending crack was always initiated from the three-point corner of the chip. However, the crack propagation depended on the oxides between the flexible circuit board and the Cu chip. The fracture time of the three-point bending test was dependent more on the crack initiation than on the crack propagation.

To this end, prescriptions presented in the Various Changes in the Dominations of the Six Energies and their Relations with the Diseases of Plain Questions were analyzed based on the theory for properties and tastes of Korean oriental herbal medicines in Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine. This thesis focused on symptoms and prescriptions based on the theory for properties and tastes of Korean oriental herbal medicines, which were described in the Various Changes in the Dominations of the Six Energies and their Relations with the Diseases of Plain Questions with regard to the year when Taeyang is affecting the earth energy and the cold energy is partially over-abundant. Those symptoms and prescriptions originate from the theory of the five elements and six climates. The symptoms were analyzed from the perspective of physiology. The prescriptions were first analyzed based on the theory for properties and tastes of Korean oriental herbal medicines in Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine. Then, a mix formula of oriental medicines pursuant to those prescriptions was studied. Lastly, established prescriptions, which were in conformity with the above prescriptions, were selected. From the physiological point of view, symptoms with regard to the year when Taeyang is affecting the earth energy and the cold energy is partially over-abundant can be, based on the theory of the five elements and six climates, diagnosed as the symptoms from impaired heart due to excessive cold energy. Established prescriptions pursuant to prescriptions based on the theory for properties and tastes of Korean oriental herbal medicines can be broken down into the following: Cassia Twig, White Peony and Anemarrhena Decoction (Gyejijakyakjimotang); Rhemannia Bolus with Eight Herbs (Palmijihoanghoan); Back to the Left Pill (Joaguihoan); Bone-Strengthening Pill (Hojamhoan); Major Eum-Replenishing Pill (Daeboeumhoan). Therefore, symptoms of six kinds of weather presented in the Various Changes in the Dominations of the Six Energies and their Relations with the Diseases of Plain Questions can be analyzed from the physiological point of view. As a result, in addition to the methodology that analyzes existing prescriptions within the boundary of the theory for properties and tastes of Korean oriental herbal medicines in Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine, it is expected that a theoretical basis for new prescriptions can be provided by analyzing established prescriptions based on prescriptions from the theory for properties and tastes of Korean oriental herbal medicines.
