The oriental medicine is not static knowledge. Since the publication of "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)", it has unceasingly changed and developed, that changes and developments ate the reflex of culture and civil progression, and they also are active acceptance of the time's demand. when we look back into the history of the Oriental medicine, angle of understanding disease can be classified into two concepts ; internal-external and Eumyang. Internal-external is whether we find the source of disease internal or external. Eumyang is deciding which is more important between yin-essence and yang-gi which are components of the essence-gi of body. This thesis view course of development of theory of the oriental medicine since publication of "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)" at certain point of internal-external and Eumyang and with those as background, will inquire into sameness and difference between the Korean medicine and the Chinese medicine, and provide an advanced course for the oriental medicine.

Gastric hyperplastic polyps are generally considered benign lesions, although rare cases of adenocarcinoma have been reported. Although, the underlying mechanism of carcinogenesis in gastric hyperplastic polyps is still uncertain, most malignant polyps are seen to originate from dysplastic epithelium rather than from hyperplastic epithelium. Herein, we report the case of a woman diagnosed with adenocarcinoma that originated from a hyperplastic gastric polyp that was successfully removed by endoscopic submucosal dissection. In this case, we observed adenomatous changes around the cancerous component.

Objectives: This study was to examine diagnosis of dyskinesia by criteria of oriental medicine and to evaluate the effect of oriental medical treatment on the symptoms. Methods: After the patient was treated with Yonggyedeunggyo-tang, the changes in dyskinetic symptoms were evaluated for treatment efficacy every hospital day. Results: The dyskinesia symptoms disappeared. Conclusions: Herbal medicine and Saam Acupuncture therapy is useful for the treatment of Hemiballism- Hemichorea-Orofacial dyskinesia patients.

For measurement of ventricular performance, ejection fraction (EF) has gained wide acceptance. But EF is influenced not only by changes in muscle function but also by changes in cardiac loading conditions. In case of valvular heart disease which is variable in loading conditions, EF cannot be reliable as an index of myocardial contractility. The end systolic pressure (ESP)-end systolic volume (ESV) relation, howver, is known to represent myocardial contractility, independent of changes in loading conditions. Similar results can be obtained by using peak-systolic pressure (PSP) instead of ESP. To evaluate the utility of the peak systolic pressure-end systolic volume index (PSP-ESVI) relation as an index of myocardial function, we measured $PSP&ESVI$ in 19 partents with coronary artery disease before $(PSP_1\;&\;ESVI_1)$ and after $(PSP_2\;&\;ESVI_2)$ sublingual administration of nitroglycerin. PSP was measured with standard mercury sphygmomanometer during gated blood pool scintigraphic study. ESVI was measured by count derived method after attenuation correction. $PSP_2\;&\;ESVI_2$ measurement was started when the fall of PSP was greater than 5 mmHg after 7-14 minutes post-administration of nitroglycerin. Mean values $({\pm}S.D.)$ of $PSP_1\;&\;ESVI_1$ was $124.9({\pm}20.7)mmHg\;&\;59.4({\pm}39.9)ml/M^2$. Mean values $({\pm}S.D)$ of $PSP_2\;&\;ESVI_2$, was $113.2({\pm}19.9)mmHg\;&\;37.5({\pm}26.1)ml/M^2$. There was a significant difference between mean values of $PSP_1\;&\;PSP_2$, (p<0.01), and mean values of $ESVI_1\;&\;ESVI_2$, (p<0.01). $PSP_1-PSP_2/ESV_1-ESVI_2,\;PSP_1/ESVI_1$ and EF were in the range of 0.14-5.19 mmHg/ml/$M^2$, 0.67-7.68 mmHg/ml/$M^2$ and 10.8%-74.5% respectively. $PSP_1-PSP_2/ESVI_1-ESVI_2$, and EF showed exponential correlation (r=0.85, P<0.01). The correlation coefficient between $PSP_1/ESVI_1$ and EF was 0.73(p<0.01). With the above results, we suggest that $PSP_1-PSP_2/ESVI_1-ESVI_2$, and $PSP_1/ESVI_1$, can be used as an index of myocardial function.

Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of herbal medicine on blood glucose in diabetic patients. Methods: The subjects were patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) who had been admitted to Kyung Hee University Korean Medicine Hospital for more than 8 weeks for a primary diagnosis other than DM and who had taken herbal medicine for more than 8 weeks from January 2010 to February 2020. The medical records were analyzed retrospectively to confirm the characteristics of the subjects, and examination results included hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), total cholesterol, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and creatinine. Changes in HbA1c before and after taking herbal medicine and changes according to subgroups were analyzed. Results: A total of 149 subjects with type 2 DM were selected as participants. After taking the herbal medicine, the HbA1c value was significantly decreased, and the statistical significance was maintained even when the effect of controlling antidiabetic agents was excluded. The decrease in HbA1c was higher in the poor glycemic control group. Liver and kidney functions did not show any significant changes after taking the herbal medicine. Conclusions: Administration of herbal medicine for a long period of 8 weeks or longer did not increase HbA1c in patients with DM complicated by other various diseases.

Internal wave with a soliton-like, large amplitudes within several kilometers, is frequently observed in the sea surface caused by tidal rectification due to sill or rough topographic changes. Internal waves can perturb current and density field, initiate bottom sediment re -suspension and mix nutrients to photic zone. Previous studies indicate that the appearance of internal wave in the Lombok Strait have been detected in SAR image data. This paper studies effect of internal wave in the Lombok Strait to chlorophyll distribution in the surrounded areas using SeaWiFS and ERS SAR images data during 1996-2001 periods. The preliminary result concludes that the internal waves presumably affect phytoplankton distribution spreading southeastward in the coast off Bali Island. The distribution of phytoplankton at southern coastline off Bali Island when internal wave occurred is elongated and distributed further to westward (from 8.8$^{\circ}$ to 10.7$^{\circ}$LS) than the area when internal wave did not occur on August 2000 (from 9.25$^{\circ}$ to 10.25$^{\circ}$LS) as shown in figure 3. It shown that the surface phytoplankton concentration near coastal area, i.e. from 8.8$^{\circ}$ to 9.25$^{\circ}$ LS, increased when internal wave is occurred.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy of using Korean medicine treatment with post-concussion syndrome. We primarily treated the patient's post-concussion syndrome during hospitalization (22.04-22.11.11) with Korean medicine treatments (herbal medicine, acupuncture, and Chuna therapy). The KHIT-6 and Numeric Rating Scale were used to assess symptom (headache, dizziness, and nausea) changes. Following treatment, the patient's KHIT-6 and Numeric Rating Scale scores decreased. This study suggests that Korean medicine may be effective in the treatment of post-concussion syndrome.

우리나라는 교육의 핵심을 공교육인 학교 교육에 두고 있으며 교육부가 고시한 교육과정을 토대로 교과서가 편찬되고 있다. 따라서 질 높은 교과서의 편찬은 매우 중요하며 교육과정을 개정하는 일 이상의 정성과 노력이 요구된다. 우리나라도 그 동안 여러 차례 교과서 개발에 힘써왔으나 선진 외국 교과서와 비교해 볼 때 외적 체제나 편집 디자인 면에서 획일적인 교과서라는 평가를 받아왔다. 이는 교과서를 편찬할 때 교과서에서 다루어야 하는 내용인 교과서의 내적 체제에만 편중된 결과의 산물이라 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 교과서 역사상 괄목할만한 변화가 있었던 7차 교과서에서부터 2015 현행 교과서에 이르기까지의 우리나라 국정 교과서를 차수별로 살펴보고, 어떠한 변화의 양상을 보이는가에 대해 의미있는 고찰을 하고자 한다. 이를 위해 교과서의 구성 체제를 외적 체제와 내적 체제로 나누어 분석한다. 교과서의 외적 체제는 판형, 자형, 지질, 색상의 변화와 삽화 분량의 변화를 중심으로 살펴보고, 내적 체제는 단원의 구성 체제와 차시의 구성 체제의 변화 및 발문 방식의 변화를 중심으로 살펴봄으로써 교과서의 변화 양상에 대한 유의미한 결론을 도출하였다.

Biological response of cells to variable conditions should affect the expression level of certain genes. Quantification of these changes in target genes needs stable internal controls. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) has traditionally used reference or ‘housekeeping’ genes, that are considered to maintain equal expression in different conditions, to evaluate changes in target genes between samples and experimental conditions. Recent studies showed that some housekeeping genes may vary considerably in certain biological samples. This has not been evaluated in red algae. In order to identify the optimal internal controls for real-time PCR, we studied the expression of eleven commonly used housekeeping genes; elongation factor 1-alpha, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, β-actin, polyubiquitin, 30S ribosomal gene, 60S ribosomal gene, beta-tubulin, alpha-tubulin, translation initiation factor, ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme, and isocitrate dehydrogenase in different life-history stages of Bostrychia moritziana. Our results suggest that glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) and 30S ribosomal gene, have the most stable gene expression levels between the different life history stages (male, female, carposporophyte, and tetrasporophyte), while the other genes are not satisfactory as internal controls. These results suggest that the combinations of GAPDH and 30S would be useful as internal controls to assess expression level changes in genes that may control different physiological processes in this organism or that may change in different life history stages. These results may also be useful in other red algal systems.
