버팀대로 보강된 널말뚝의 안정해석 (Stability Analysis of Sheet Pile Reinforced with Strut)

  • The results obtained by elasto-plastic analysis method about the displacement, deformation and stability on the soft ground excavation using sheet pile were summarized as follows ; 1. In the case of strut 1 step, the maximum wall displacement value in the first and the second excavation was small, but it increase remarkably after the third excavation and when the excavation depth was 8m, the point of maximum wall displacement was shown 0.75H~0.8H. 2. The value of safety factor(Fs) was increased with increasing of the penetration depth of sheet pile, cohesion and internal friction angle of ground. Safety factor was mostly effected by penetration depth of sheet pile and more effected by cohesion than internal friction angle of ground. 3. Since the deformation of sheet pile of this ground from the results of analysis and measurement increased remarkabaly after 6m excavation depth, it was desirable that the point of strut installation was GL-6m. 4. Safe excavation depth on ground by analysis considered penetration depth, cohesion and internal friction was shown at the table 3.

전통악기 음향판의 양면도장이 음향성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Double Surfaces Finishing on Acoustical Properties of Soundboard for Traditional Musical Instruments)

  • Acoustical properties of chestnut and paulownia woods have been determined in four film thicknesses of oriental lacquering and cashew varnishing on double surfaces of soundboard to elucidate effects of finishing. Accelerometer was attached to the specimen at one third position from one end, and specimen was hit by the impact hammer at one third position from opposite end. Data were processed by vibration analyzer. The ratio of axial-to-transverse sound velocity of untreated specimens of chestnut and paulownia were 3.25 and 5.34, respectively. Natural frequency, specific Young's modulus, acoustical coefficient, sound velocity, damping of sound radiation(DSR) and acoustical converting efficiency(ACE) decreased by oriental lacquering and cashew varnishing for both species. Damping of internal friction of chestnut decreased by oriental lacquering and cashew varnishing, but that of paulownia increased. Natural frequency. specific Young's modulus, acoustical coefficient, sound velocity, and DSR decreased with increased film thickness of both finishing materials. However, damping of internal friction and ACE showed irregular tendency with increased film thickness. Acoustical properties of cashew varnished chestnut specimen were better than those of oriental lacquered specimen. Acoustical properties of oriental lacquered paulownia specimen were better than those of cashew varnished specimen.

  • Generated Axial Force (GAF) due to internal friction at Constant Velocity (CV) joints is one of the causes generating vibration problems such as shudder in vehicle. In this study, the GAF measuring tester is developed to precisely measure GAF caused by internal friction in CV joints. As the developed tester can control temperature at joint, driving torque, angle of rotation and joint angles, actual driving conditions such as sudden acceleration can be applied to the machine. GAFs are measured and compared by using different types of grease in tripod housing. Also GAFs are measured for both new and used CV joints to be compared and analyzed. The test result shows the repeatability and consistency of the tester in terms of the different test conditions. By using the developed CV joint tester, friction performance of the joint can be evaluated by proposing the best CV joints as well as greases generating the lowest GAF.

회전 라이너를 이용한 엔진 마찰저감 (Engine Friction Reduction Through Liner Rotation)

  • Cylinder liner rotation is a new concept for reducing piston assembly friction in the internal combustion engine. The purpose of cylinder liner rotation is to reduce the occurrence of boundary and mixed lubrication friction in the piston assembly. This paper reports the results of experiments to quantify the potential of the rotating liner engine. A GM Quad-4 SI engine was converted to single cylinder operation and modified for cylinder liner rotation. The hot motoring method was used to compare the friction loss between the baseline engine and the rotating liner engine. Additionally, tear-down tests were used to measure the contribution of each engine component to the total friction torque. The cycle-averaged motoring torque of the RLE represents a $23\~31\%$ friction reduction compared to the baseline engine for hot motoring tests. Through tear down tests, it was found that the piston assembly friction of the baseline engine is reduced from $90\%$ at 1200 rpm to $71\%$ at 2000 rpm through liner rotation.

PRD 강환 말뚝의 연직지지력 특성에 관한 사례 연구 (Case Study on the Characteristics of Vertical Bearing Capacity for Steel Pipe Pile Installed by PRD)

  • Construction case of PRD (Percussion Rotary Drill) pipe pile and matters to be attended in construction of PRD pile were reviewed. The compressive and uplifting static pile load tests for PRD piles were performed and, also, analysis by Pile Driving Analyzer was done. Based on these results, bearing components in each resisting part (that is: steel toe, external skin, and internal skin) were measured separately. The measured resisting force was compared to the value calculated by the estimated formula. The pile capacity was mobilized in steel toe area and the external skin friction and the internal friction were not produced. Thus, it could be considered that toe of PRD pile should be supported in hard bearing stratum (for example, the fresh soft rock).

THE STATE OF THE ART OF THE INTERNAL PLASMA SPRAYING ON CYLINDER BORE IN AlSi CAST ALLOYS

  • For the wear protection of cylinder bore in aluminum cast material the internal plasma spraying technology offers a new economical solution. The size and the weight of the engine blocks significantly can be decreased in comparison with the traditional cast iron sleeves. The coefficient of friction between piston ring and cylinder wall sensitively can be reduced and the wear resistance increased from several factors. The paper gives an overview of the technology from the AlSi cast alloys for engine block to the non destructive testing technology used after the machining by diamond honing. The actual results in engines of different types also will be shown. The economical advantages of the plasma spraying (or the internal coating in cylinder bore also will be discussed in comparison with the different alternatives of technology. The aspect of the market introduction also will be discussed in this paper.

GCP로 보강된 연약지반의 해석적 거동분석 (Analysis on the Analytical Behavior of Soft Ground Reinforced with Granular Compaction Piles)

  • 국내 GCP공법은 많은 선행연구가 진행되었으나, 설계자의 경험에 의해 의존하여 설계되고 있는 실정이므로 파괴사례가 종종 보고되고 있다. 이에 따라 명확한 파괴 원인규명 및 파괴예방대책 수립이 어려운 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 GCP공법의 합리적인 설계법의 제안을 위한 기초단계로써, GCP에 사용되는 최적배합비를 대형직접전단시험을 통해 결정하고, 내부마찰각의 변화에 따른 응력분담비의 변화 및 지반의 수직/수평 침하거동을 수치해석을 통하여 분석하였다. 직접전단 실험결과 쇄석과 모래의 최적배합비는 70:30으로 평가되었다. 수치해석결과 내부마찰각이 증가할수록 응력분담비가 증가하나 일정한 값으로 수렴하고 침하량이 감소하며, 최적배합비로 시공할 경우 측방유동 및 히빙현상의 감소를 유도할 것으로 판단된다.

제주도 화산암의 압열인장강도와 일축압축강도로부터 추정된 점착력과 내부마찰각 (Cohesion and Internal Friction Angle Estimated from Brazilian Tensile Strength and Unconfined Compressive Strength of Volcanic Rocks in Jeju Island)

  • 본 연구에서는, 제주도 화산암의 인장강도와 관련하여, 기존의 연구결과 및 본 연구에서 수행된 시험결과에 대한 종합적인 비교·분석을 수행하였으며, 제주도 화산암의 압열인장강도와 일축압축강도로부터 추정된 점착력과 내부 마찰각의 특성 및 그 유효성을 각각 살펴보았다. 제주도 화산암의 압열인장강도는 흡수율과 밀접한 관계에 있었으며, 흡수율이 증가함에 따라 지수 함수적으로 급격하게 감소하는 특성을 갖고 있었다. 내부 마찰각은 압열인장도강도에 대한 일축압축강도의 비(σc / σt)와 밀접한 관계에 있었으며, 강도비 σc / σt가 증가함에 따라 내부 마찰각은 로그 함수적으로 증가하는 특성을 갖고 있었다. 그리고 제주도 화산암의 강도비 σc / σt는 내부 마찰각의 크기에 따라 약 5~20 사이의 값을 나타내고 있었다. 한편, 점착력(c)의 경우, 흡수율 및 압열인장강도와 밀접한 관계에 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 점착력과 흡수율 사이에는 압열인장강도와 흡수율의 관계와 같이 지수 함수적인 관계에 있으며, 점착력과 압열인장강도 사이에는 선형관계에 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고 일축압축강도와 압열인장강도로부터 추정된 내부 마찰각과 점착력은 각각 삼축압축강도로부터 추정된 내부 마찰각과 점착력에 비해 약 13% 과소평가 그리고 약 24% 정도 과대평가되는 경향을 보였다.

가야금(伽倻琴) 향판재(響板材)의 개선(改善)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Studies on the Improvements for GAYAKUM Sounding Boards)

  • For the purpose of Improving the sounding boards for the conventional GAYAKUM, I was making approximately 202 specimens of radial board, 371 specimens of tangential board by cutting along the grain and the part of stem and 31 specimens of the disjointed traditional GAYAKUM made in Paulownia coreana. And it was conducted to measure specific gravity, dynamic Young's modulus, internal friction, resonant frequency, velosity of sound and width of annual ring by the method of the frexural vibration in a free-free bar in the audio frequency range. And it confirmed the juvenile wood by measuring wood fiber length of specimens. It was also conducted to investigate dynamic properties and moisture absorption by various heat-treatment and to test dynamic Young's modulus and internal friction for the disjointed conventional GAYAKUM. The results obtained were summarized as follow: 1. The Juvenile wood is located within about 7 annual rings from the pith in Paulownia coreana. 2. As increased with the specific gravity, the dynamic Young's modulus had more and more increased, but the internal friction had slightly decreased. 3. I think that radial board would be good for sounding board wood. because radial board is higher than tangential board in dynamic Young's mudulus and internal friction is lower than tangential board. 4. The value of mean dynamic Young's modulus on the conventional GAYAKUM, radial board and tangential board of 604 samples is $0.4283\pm0.037(\times10^{11}dyne/cm^2)$, $0.4316\pm(\times10^{11}dyne/cm^2)$ and $0.4234\pm0.112(\times10^{11}dyne/cm^2)$ respectively. The value of the radial board showed little higher than that of conventional GAYAKUM, but It had a similar tendency between conventional GAYAKUM and tangential board. 5. The annual ring width by four aspect is more narrow in north and west than that of others. 6. The values of specific gravity and dynamic Young's modulus in the mature wood showed higher than those of juvenile wood. 7. As the grain angle in the butt wood more increased to bark from pith, the dynamic Young's modulus were low. Then it was not good for sounding board. 8. It appeared that the heat-treatment for sounding board wood had a more effect to do the treatment of hotiron on surface after heat-treatment during 24 hours in $60^{\circ}C$ temperature. 9. As increased with the temperature, the rate of moisture absorption of heat-treatment wood had decreased. In conclusion, I thought that the sounding board wood for GAYAKUM would had the most effect to do the treatment of hotiron on surface after heat-treatment during 24 hours in $60^{\circ}C$ temperature using the radial board of mature wood.

직접전단시험에 의한 다양한 시료의 전단강도 특성 (Characteristics of Shear Strength Parameters of Various Soils by Direct Shear Test)

  • 흙의 전단강도의 적절한 기준을 제시하기 위해 모래질, 점토질, 자갈질의 약 290 여개의 재료에 대하여 직접전단시험을 수행하였다. 흙의 대분류에 의한 모래질 흙의 전단강도는 모래 함유율이 많은 흙일수록 내부마찰각은 증가하는 경향이 뚜렷하게 나타났으며, 그 범위는 $23.5^{\circ}{\sim}34.9^{\circ}$에 분포하고 있는 것으로 나타났고, 점착력은 2.0 kPa~15.7 kPa 사이에서 골고루 분포하는 것으로 나타났다. 탄성계수는 하중단계에 따라 뚜렷하게 구분할 수 있었으며, 수직하중이 증가할수록 약 80%씩 증가하였다. 점토질 흙의 내부마찰각은 $15.0^{\circ}{\sim}28.6^{\circ}$의 범위에서 점토성분 함유율이 많아질수록 감소하는 경향이 나타났고, 점착력은 일정한 범위로 증가하는 경향이 나타났다. 점토질 흙의 탄성계수는 거의 같은 증가비로 초기탄성계수만 약간 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 자갈질 흙의 내부마찰각은 $29.9^{\circ}{\sim}36.7^{\circ}$의 범위로 뚜렷한 특성을 파악할 수 없었다. 세부분류에 따른 SW(입도분포가 좋은 모래), SP(입도분포가 나쁜 모래), SC(점토 섞인 모래), SM(실트 섞인 모래)의 점착력은 실트함유율이 가장 많은 SM 시료에 비해 SC는 약 94%, SW는 약 78%, SP는 약 59% 정도 값을 나타내었다. 또한 내부마찰각은 ML(액성한계가 낮은 실트)과 CL(액성한계가 낮은 점토)이 거의 같은 거동 특성을 나타내었고, MH(액성한계가 높은 실트)는 ML의 약 88% 값을 나타내었다. 점착력에 대한 변화는 거의 비슷한 증가비를 나타내었다.
