Seismic performances of centrifugally-formed hollow-core precast columns with multi-interlocking spirals

  • A precast composite column system has been developed in this study by utilizing multi interlocking spiral steel into a centrifugally-formed hollow-core precast (CHPC) column. The proposed hybrid column system can have enhanced performances in the composite interaction behavior between the hollowed precast column and cast-in-place (CIP) core-filled concrete, the lap splice performance of bundled bars, and the confining effect of concrete. In the experimental program, reversed cyclic loading tests were conducted on a conventional reinforced concrete (RC) column fabricated monolithically, two CHPC columns filled with CIP concrete, and two steel-reinforced concrete (SRC) columns. It was confirmed that the interlocking spirals was very effective to enhance the structural performance of the CHPC column, and all the hollow-core precast column specimens tested in this study showed good seismic performances comparable to the monolithic control specimen.

ROOM기법을 이용한 전자연동 소프트웨어 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design of Railway Electornic Interlocking Software Based on Real-Time Object-Oriented Modeling Technique)

  • This paper considers the design technique of the real-time control algorithm to implement the electronic interlocking system which is the most important station control system in railway signal field. The proposed technique consists of the structure design and the detail design which are based on the ROOM(Real-Time Object-Oriented Modeling). The structure design is designed with a modeling using the heuristic search technique which, at first, catch and make out the specific requested condition, and then, is designed on the requested condition. The detail design can be implemented if it may get the satisfying values through the repetitive modeling after comparing and examining the data obtained from the structure design in order for the more reliable and accurate system to be implemented. The technique proposed in this paper is implemented with C++ language which is easy to be transferred and compatible with the existing interfaces, and also the operating system is designed and simulated on the VRTX which is a real-time operating system. This proposed technique is applied to the typical station model in order to prove the validity as verifying the performance of the modeled station.

  • This paper investigates shape design processes of two implant systems for bone fracture treatment ; Bone plate and Interlocking nail system. These systems can directly fix fractured human bones by surgical operations. The bone plates consist of various shaped plates and implant screws for fixation of fractured human bones with various manual instruments allowing to handle them. The material corresponds to titanium alloy Ti6Al4V because it is harmless material for human body as well as significantly rigid. This system has to be suitably rigid as well as manually bended in orthopedic surgery operations. The Interlocking nail system is a kind of nail implanted inside fractured human bones. The shapes of these systems have to be suitably designed in order to endure various loads as well as avoid any damages. If various shaped prototypes would be fabricated and tested to design the optimal shapes, optimal shapes could be obtained but very long time and expensive costs must be required. In this paper finite element method was applied into these systems. Under various boundary conditions a series of structural analysis was conducted by using ANSYS. Finally important shape factors could be determined on the basis of the analysis results.

  • In this paper we analyzed a dangerous failure and a safety requirement based on HIA (Hazard Identification and Analysis) of an interface model between CTC (Centralized Traffic Control) system and El (Interlocking) system, and assigned SU (Safety Integrity Level) by way of an risk estimation of the interface, which employed PHA (Preliminary Hazard Analysis) for the interface of the track control system, being managed as separated system between the centralized traffic control system and the interlocking system, An estimation which satisfies a safety reference of the international standard has been achieved through a quantification of the system failure rate and the dangerous failure rate of the interface model.

Influence of bed joint orientation on interlocking grouted stabilised mud-flyash brick masonry under cyclic compressive loading

  • This paper describes a series of laboratory tests carried out to evaluate the influence of bed joint orientation on interlocking grouted stabilised mud-flyash brick masonry under uniaxial cyclic compressive loading. Five cases of loading at $0^{\circ}$, $22.5^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, $67.5^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$ with the bed joints were considered. The brick units and masonry system developed by Prof. S.N. Sinha were used in present investigation. Eighteen specimens of size $500mm{\times}100mm{\times}700mm$ and twenty seven specimens of size $500mm{\times}100mm{\times}500mm$ were tested. The envelope stress-strain curve, common point curve and stability point curve were established for all five cases of loading with respect to bed joints. A general analytical expression is proposed for these curves which fit reasonably well with the experimental data. Also, the stability point curve has been used to define the permissible stress level in the brick masonry.

  • Recently, the computer based control systems instead of conventional relays circuitry are widely used to industrial applications, and also those technology is available to railway signaling which are safety-critical systems. However, the safety and reliability of software for those systems are harder to demonstrate than in traditional relays circuitry because the faults or errors can not be analyzed and predicted to those systems. So, the safety problems are crucial more and more in computer based control system. In this paper, the GRAFCET(GRAphe Fonctionnel do Commande Etape/Transition) language is used as a analysis and verification tool for safety-critical interlocking logic. The general description for Grafcet notation are provided and the general modeling for interlocking logic is presented.

전단키형 인터로킹 케이슨 방파제의 파력분산효과 (Dispersion Effects of Wave Force on Interlocking Caisson Breakwater with Shear-Key)

  • 장대케이슨은 1함당 작용하는 평균파력이 감소하는 파력의 평활화 효과로 인해 케이슨의 활동파괴에 대한 구조안정성을 향상시킬 수 있으나, 장대케이슨은 제작 및 시공상의 이유로 사용하는데 어려움이 있다. 이에 대한 대안으로 개별 케이슨을 인접한 케이슨과 서로 인터로킹시켜 파력을 분산시키는 인터로킹 케이슨에 대한 연구가 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 케이슨의 장대화가 가능한 전단키형 인터로킹 케이슨을 제안하고, 해석적 방법을 통해 전단키에 의한 파력분산효과를 평가하였다. 해석결과, (1) 전단키형 인터로킹 케이슨은 좌우비대칭 형상으로 인해 구조물 거동 및 파력분산효과 또한 좌우비대칭으로 나타난다. (2) 파력분산효과는 전단키의 전단경사각, 높이, 전단길이비 등 전단키의 형상보다는 각 케이슨에 작용하는 파력 분포 및 특성에 더 큰 영향을 받는다. (3) 장대화된 인터로킹 케이슨 방파제는 완전일체형 방파제와 거의 유사한 거동 및 파력분산효과를 나타낸다.

  • 도시 대중교통을 주도하는 도시철도에서의 중요한 기능인 신호 연동장치의 주요 논리 회로 중 가장 취약한 3, 4호선의 소형 (Non-Vital) 계전기를 성능이 향상된 전자연동장치(PLC)로 개량함으로서 사전 장애 발생요인을 제거, 열차 안전운행 확보는 물론 설비의 현대화로 업무 향상에 기여하고 신호설비 유지 보수의 합리화 및 효율화를 기할 수 있도록 신호설비의 기능개선 및 발전 방안이 되도록 하였다. 특히 고장 발생 빈도를 낮추기 위한 방안과 설비 보완 및 신설 등 종합적이고 실현 가능한 설비를 구현하고자 하였으며, 기존의 노후된 신호시설이나 교체 예정인 신호 설비들을 효율적으로 개량하기 위한 방안으로 신호 관련기술기준과 표준을 바탕으로 신호시스템의 합리적 발전에 일익을 담당코자 하였다.

ESS 연동형 스마트 플러그 기반의 미디어 플랫폼 설계 (Design of Smart Plug based Media Platform interlocking with ESS)

  • 본 논문에서는 갑작스런 전력난이나 피크 전력시간 등의 비상 전력상황에서 필수적으로 동작해야 할 정보기기기가 전력을 공급받기 위해 우선순위(Priority) 제어기능을 부여한 스마트 플러그 기반의 스마트 콘센트에 의한 스마트 모니터링 및 표시장치를 갖는 스마트 미디어 플랫폼의 제어기능 설계를 제안한다. 이러한 스마트 게이트웨이는 에너지 저장장치(ESS, Energy Storage System)와 연동함으로서 스마트 플러그가 양방향 송배전과 우선순위 제어형 스마트 제어모듈에 의한 전력관리 효율을 극대화할 수 있다.
