For the useful method capable of modern expression on traditional residence architecture, a study was performed on the methodological establishment and possibility of typological method could be examinated to interior design process by typological method. First of all, through the establishment verbal of our Korean traditional architecture and further investigation of environmental and cultural idealogical facts, it could be extracted from natural instinct, duality, continuance, flexibility and transitiov. In second process, based on these results, it could be framed and described the individual typological language and, for the sake of drawing for visual and spatial typology, it was made by sketch in terms and view of possibile guidance of prototype, transforming and application method. from these results of investigated sketches, it cold be used for criteria of application method as the parts of visual and spatial typological elements to have an applicable expression of it/s traditionality. Based on above facts, for the subjects of spatial system, form & shape system, circulation system, order system, decoration system, color & material system in interior design fields, we cold propose the practical possibility through the consideration of application method for built-in meaning that could be adaptable for the interior design practices. These facts were extracted from the based on visual & spatial typology, as above mentiov. Also, through preparing and suggesting the criteria of evaluation and measurement of design quality , we could propose the applicable methodology for further & basically Korean traditional embodiment.

The recent works of architecture and interior design take on too various aspects to be classified as a trend or tendency. Many subjects, seeking the superiority between form and function in space which was the issue of Modernism, got to face the works which transcend the limitation of architecture due to the development of a variety of media and technology these days. In result, we could see the works which are to be Included into the category of art rather than architecture. This study starts from the thought that the common aspects of these works are based on the strangeness to pursue uniqueness, peculiarities or novelty. 'The subject of this study, $'D\acute{e}paysement'$, creates a new relation, disconnected from customs, to an architecture which became familiar through defragment, fixation and abstraction by the habitual relation and makes it reborn as an architecture which gives us a fantasy and a pleasure, by converting into the shape and image which are different from its original shape when a stimulus is given to an architecture. This study starts from the artistic aspect which has a close correlation with the architecture. The subject, $'D\acute{e}paysement'$ could be historically considered in two aspects - $D\acute{e}paysement$ of Surrealism which developed in paintings and Defamiliarization of Russian Formalism in the area of literature. This study is carried in a category of $D\acute{e}paysement$, focusing on the visual aspect of the architecture. This study is composed as follows: In chapter 2, a theoretical research is performed according to the definition and meaning of the $D\acute{e}paysement$ expression techniques, its origination and evolution, and type classification by the features of expression techniques in the era of Surrealism when $D\acute{e}paysement$ developed most vigorously in the area of art. In chapter 3, the system which formalizes the expression method of the techniques is presented, focusing on the case analysis of the artistic works according to the types of $D\acute{e}paysement$. In chapter 4, the application of the expression techniques of $D\acute{e}paysement$ is discussed by conducting cases analysis of the modern interior design.

The aspects of contemporary society change have been changed rapidly running for function value on the part of part industrialization and information-oriented. The transfer to the society focused on a human being emphasis and symbol value is in progress rising with natural desire of recurrence of human nature accordingly and desires of a human being inborn of sensitivity-oriented and pluralism-oriented are being expressed. Answering these social and cultural demands, concerns about an arbitrary mind world of a human being and pursuit dispositions about impractical and transcendental world are coincided with to the purpose and so various kinds of expressions except for art sphere are being experimented and applied. Here upon also in the field of the contemporary interior design, answering sensual desire of users, various arts and cultural tendency, the concept of surrealism is being applied in design introducing the concept of surrealism positive. And fantastical and unreasonable expression features of surrealism are being used as subjective essential elements to make new spaces. Especially amoung various kinds of the interiors designs, the features like surrealistic expressions in Food & Beverage Space which proper identity and strong symbolism will be expressed can be recognized as appropriate expression patterns to give still more sensitivity stimuli to customers. Thus this research disclosed conceptual and ideological background of surrealism and also analyzed and studied surrealistic expression features applied to the interiors designs of Contemporary Food & Beverage Space through expression disposition, study and classification of techniques. And standing on the result of analyzing surrealistic expression features of Contemporary Food & Beverage Space with a key word of expression features derived we groped for estatescape trend demanded in Food & Beverage Space and direction coming.

In designing furniture and interior accessories, a computer graphic program is normally used over the whole process of manufacturing furniture from idea stage to actual manufacturing stage. It especially play an important role in the modeling process which comes before actual manufacturing stage. in such modeling process, the most important part is expression of quality of material used and surface treatment method. Expression of material quality of wood and surface finishing just like an actual picture enable the designers to analogize the feeling of furniture and interior accessories more exactly over the whole process of actual manufacturing and such a result has positive effect on development field of furniture and accessories.

The purpose of this study analyzes an expression method and a characteristic of transparency of a surface in commercial space, and it is to show an index of a surface design. We did image evaluation by SD method for the commercial space which directed transparency to a surface as the method. We used a factor analysis and cluster analysis to get the image characteristic and type of the expression methods. As a result, we got six following expression methods and design indexes. (1) Transparency expression of a surface by a multiple layer. (2) Transparency expression of a surface by unification with a structure. (3) Transparency expression of a surface by transparency of materials. (4) Transparency expression of a surface by a combination of various materials. (5) Transparency expression of a surface by unification of the image media. (6) Transparency expression of a surface by transparency transformation of materials. We think that it will be able to make use of these results as a design index for the surface design of a commercial space in the future.

The communication in a play has a dual structure, which is composed of the communications within a play and in a theatre space. This research focuses on the scene design that creates the background or the theme of a play and communicates theme of a play to the audience. A scene design of a theatre has meta-linguistic aspects, which is the image or mood as the theme of a play. The scene design is composed of various design elements of space and objects as the properties of a play. Design elements and the objects are the design languages in various form; plane, three-dimensional, multi-dimensional form. These design languages have the significant meanings as signs like human language. The play works chooses the rhetorical expression to arouse the audience's sympathy. The scene design is completed with rhetorical expression for communication in theatre too. This research defines the category of meanings that design elements of scene design can create and the rhetorical expression of the scene design language. King Lear directed by Robert G. Anderson was analyzed with the category of design elements as a sign and the pattern of the rhetorical expression. The scene design for a play is completed effectively by the rhetorical expression of design elements as the design language for the communication with the audience in theatre.

Contemporary architecture is developing aspects of variety design. In spite of elevation is important section to express main concepts, it difficults to limit because it decisions inclusively elements. This thesis is on way to understand variety and dimness expression of architecture. The scope of this thesis is the analysis of Korean single housing. The components of elevation are mass, roof, shape of windows, materials, shape of floor plan. The analised types of expression are rationallity, technique, tradition of types of expression, the latter is harmony, revolution in the opposite direction of types of expression. The types of expression in elevation of Korean single housing have characteristic components. Elevation has important a matter on design process, I extect to reflect result of thesis to housing plan.

I paid attention to the fact that surrealism emerging in early 20th century has been resurfacing in the 21st century. It may be because of the increasing interest on the space showing the surrealistic features as people in these days prefer the experimental and dramatic space beyond repetitive daily life. I tried to identify the expressive characteristics in the interior space adopting the depaysement technique among a variety of expression techniques of surrealism. To this end, this paper selected 10 interior design projects by Fabio Novembre and Marcel Wanders since 2000s. As the methodology, chapter 2 examined the theories to identify the expression targets and approaches of depaysement around the art paintings. Next, the standard for case analysis in this paper was established by investigating the existing theses related to interior and space design with depaysement as the key word. The expressive characteristics of depaysement identified from the existing researches were classified into morphological, figurative, material and space program. Those programs were developed as the classification system in this paper. Chapter 3 described the design background and features of Fabio Novembre and Marcel Wanders. On the basis of the features and analysis framework identified in chapter 2 and 3, chapter 4 analyzed the features of depaysement observed in the works by both designers. The conclusion was presented in chapter 5. For the expressive characteristics of depaysement observed in the space by both designers, Novembre created optical illusion using distortion or overlap on the morphological aspect. Wanders showed mainly the feature of changing the scale. In accordance with the analysis on expression principles, the features including spatial continuity, ambiguity of border, visual amusement and uncertainty were differentiated in all spaces.

The past and present time are consistent thinking process system which composed of single concept not separated concept. It's common concept for interior designer to how to realize the thinking process system in actual present day. So this paper was focused on purpose of establishing for procedural process theory by approaching typological process system in interior design process. Interior design being composed of typological thinking process system has been headed as a critical issue to how to transplant well between the design and typological objects. Also we have to be needed to know for the process of visual expression and verbal ability to be able to extract the designer's elements from it. Through the process of visual expression and verbal ability to be able to extract the designer's elements from it. Through the process of visual transformation and analysis we have to extract concepts with united design objects. From these process it should be followed adequate adjudgment on the extracted fragments' assembly and dissociation methods through physical limitation of elements functionality and feasibility's measurements. Therefore from the morphological designed results reflected to typological concepts finished material detail and texture we should be able to take the integrated thinking process system. Lastly interior designer should be able to check whether it was best choice from the consistent design feedback process to ask whether it contains the conceptual design process and new typological objects without non-conformity between past and present days in interior space. Now we should be asked for development of practical design process to be able to realize above assumptions called "Development and Suceeding of Cultural Value System'. Additionally, we have to continue to develop for our true meaning of interior design process, not repetition of past's imitation.tion.

The concept of Space-time is performed while the movement of human Is imaged on coming 20th century up. Specifically it is considered that the movement of human is caused by the relativistic otherness rather than an absolute subject in space of deconstructive tendency. The purpose of this study is that I try to analyze an expression of relative space-time concept in desconstructive tendency and I have to get a concept how this kind of expression effect the contemporary commercial space. Through this study, I can get to know that the expression of relative space-time concept expresses the dynamic construction by the indeterminacy and the visual effect by the dematerialization in the contemporary commercial interior-space. According to the result of study, the concept of space get to be more meaningful, relative space-time concept and it can be attributed to the concept of human's new creative space over human's life in general.
