Non-territorial workplace has different characteristic from conventional workplace in terms of interior and architectural design and organization management even the user awareness. The purpose of this study is to examine the non-territorial workplace and suggest needs for improving the quality and efficiency of work. To fulfill this task, information describing various environmental conditions and user awareness were gathered from the non-territorial office in Seoul. Data were collected by using questionnaires regarding general information of user and satisfaction of environmental elements that were established on pre-study. Finally, based on the results of this study, the users of non-territorial workplace seem to be satisfied with utilization of space and working but discontent with psychological element such as privacy, security and affinity. Therefore designers should focused more on psychological elements according to users awareness which is the finding in this study among other elements.

Various mixed-use buildings have been developed in the process of resolving the issue of 'urban regeneration' in the modern city. In this urban regeneration process, the size of the mixed-use buildings and the level of their functional complexity have been increased. It requires a quantitative and systematic approach in order to analyze the internal circulation flow within the large-scale commercial mixed-use buildings. Circulation system and environmental factors, respectively, have been vital criteria for the effectiveness of a Wayfinding design within the mixed-use buildings. The circulation system in this paper consists of 1) the number of the incoming paths at each node, and 2) the angle of directional transition from the incoming paths at the node. The environmental factors include 1) color tone, 2) materials, 3) lighting, and 4) pattern of the interior design of the mixed-use buildings. In this paper, the author develops a method of investigating the influence of the correlation between the circulation system and the environmental factors on the design of Wayfinding on the view of the remodeled COEX MALL interior design.

Children stage is an important period the foundation of growth is accomplished. During the period, children are the most sensitive to environmental effects and experiences and interactions with surroundings can make lots of effects on their physical and cognitive development. Under the background of the above contents, a representative institution of the society, which is helpful to cultivate children's reading habit, will be children library. The purposes of this research are to analyze intensively reading room among the children library's spatial organization and compare/analyze cases of children library's reading room with the elements of interior environment. The methods of research are theory study and case study. Through the on-the-site visiting and shooting, interior environment design was investigated and then, it was arranged, analyzed and evaluated. Cases were analyzed by elements of interior environment design evaluation. As the result, comfort was the highest and variety was the lowest. Especially, Songpa children library showed various factors generally through the various designs. 7 evaluative elements of children library's reading room were mutually different, but there was a certain different in relation of them. Especially, variety and flexibility must be more strengthened. So, children can interests and joy in reading room various designs are requested by getting out of library's uniformed furniture and arrangement plan.

The purpose of this study is to make interior environment which can support the education effectively through acceptance of the requirements of users about the environmental factors of learning spaces for the visually impaired students. For them, researcher investigated the literature cited and did the field survey. And also, this researcher analyzed user's satisfaction extent for structure, design, and technical environment factors by the evaluation elements. On the basis of the result of analysis, Two rooms which had big problems for physical environment were selected. And then the design recommendations focusing on environmental factors - circulation, furniture arrangement, colour, lighting etc. - were proposed by this researcher on the basis of space user's requriement.

Interior design is an inerdisciplinary field that is in the early stages of theory development, it is necessary to build theoretical frame work for the research. The purpose of this study is to present interior design and guidelines in a three generation family apartment for the elderly, and to develop a theoretical framework on the basis of the human ecosystem approach for analysis of relations between elderly and environment. Analysis and investigations are done by literature review about residential environmental characteristics of the elderly based on the findings of the conceptual analysis. Environmenta elements of interor design related to elderly in a three generation family apartment are as follow ; First, Natural environmental element is orientation, site, temperature, local weather. Second, human behavioral element is privacy , interior design requirement based on physical and psychological effect, housing policy, behavior. Third, Human constructed environmental element is size of apartment space, interior design component, human dimension, aesthetic condition.

Recently in most homes, children are mostly cared in early childhood education facilities. However, the increased number of safety accidents on children cared in such facilities has become a social issue. For that, the purpose of this study is to suggest interior environmental planning elements to improve safety level of early childhood education facilities. This study was carried out by performing literature review analysis and survey. First, in total of 42 environmental planning elements that can be applied domestically were derived from analyzing safety related guidelines for children facilities located both domestically and internationally then a survey was carried out targeted for teachers and staffs in the facilities on importance of the factors. The results of this study are as followings. First, it is required to intensify the level of safety related training for teachers and staffs in the facilities including better treatment for them. Second, the necessity of safety environment by each space in such facilities is required to be approached upon the level of child activities. Third, facilities planning and finalizing planning are important for improving safety of early childhood education facilities. Forth, from factor analysis on the extracted environmental planning elements that are considered as important by the teachers from both day care centers and kindergartens, they were categorized in 5 groups including 'collision and fall prevention plan', 'physical characteristic consideration plan', 'evacuation safety plan', 'lock security plan' and 'outer control plan'. It is fair to say that constructing a better safety environment for children can be achieved by the environmental planning factors by this study.

Now that 15 years have passed since its introduction to 4 year college in Korea and we have 51 majors in the field of Intoner design established at 47 universities as of 2003, we are in the position to seek the improvement of its educational qualify. With a view to provide data for the setup of proper educational purpose, it has classified their divisions(departments) according to their major names and belonged colleges of the universities and considered their geographical distributions, groupings of curriculum, their framing and features of a standard curriculum. 1)Divisions of the universities where the major of interior design belongs are divided into three categories of design division (design 8t arts, arts), home economics division (home economics, natural science) and architectural division. For the development of the major, universities to which circumstances permit are recommended to establish an independent college of interior design following the . cases in the US. 2) Geographical preponderance of interior design major on Seoul and Gyeongsang Province is desired to be improved. 3) Curriculum of interior design, which is classified into introduction, history of interior design, theory of interior design, design of interior space, digital technology, design elements of inner space, technology of interior design, behavior of environmental psychology, design management and other subjects, was made into a table by divisions. To sum up, curriculum of interior design concentrates on basic design theory throughout all divisions. In connection with the selection of division by high school-graduates or their parents, design division is recommended for those who desire to major in design elements and design management, home economics division for those who desire to major in space design and behavior of environmental psychology and architectural division for those who desire to major in Interior space design, interior design technology and regulations. 4) This research can contribute to the settlement of desirable curriculum for the interior design education, thus upgrading the education level of the major in Korea.

The purpose of this study was to examine the importance of eco-friendly design elements related to residential space by residents and what element they prefer. To achieve this, 18 eco-friendly design elements related to residential space were selected from the Green Building Certification Criteria and the relevant research papers. These elements were categorized into four areas; the ecological environment area (4 elements), the indoor environmental climate one (4 elements), the energy and resource saving one (6 ones), and the material one(4 ones). On the base of these 18 elements, the importance degree of each element was examined by using 5-point Likert scale. The subjects were 299 housewives living in apartment houses in Jangyu new town, Gimhae. The subjects perceived strongly the importance of eco-friendly design elements, but many of them did not know about Green Building Certification Criteria. Overall importance of 18 elements by the residents was very high. Also, the indoor environmental climate area was considered as the most important one, followed by the energy and resource saving area, the material area, and the ecological environment one.

Restaurant is a settign for est and social intercousrse fo rpeople in the cities, and is essential to provide its users with pleasant and comfort space. Color is used as a design tool which has most powerful effect to change the nature of a space and atmosphere, As a basic study for desirable environmental color for restaurant, this is studied mainly on the following discussion points. 1) Inportance of environmental color and its role in accordance with space characteristics as restaurant. 2) The psychological effects of color in the clinetes, color conditioning of the dining ares, problem of change in the appearance of color in the selection of materials and color harmony of total environments. 3) Prior to color planning in detail , the nature and characteristics each restaurant contains and their correlation with various locational , physical , social environmental , human variables have been analyzed. And the total atmosphere of the dining area as a place where the clients finally stay has been dealt with various visual , environmental and functional problems of color about fixed elements such as the wall. the floor, the ceiling and semifixed elements such as tables, chairs, etc.

Recently, as people have more interest in health, and some change takes place in their lifestyles, a demand for environment-friendly residential space is also increasing. Research on the introduction of natural elements is mostly conducted for humans to pursue a more pleasant and comfortable life in residential space since it has one of the closest relation with humans. Therefore, it is such an important assignment at present when environmental problems are considered significant. Based on such a necessity, this study analyzed the introduction types and characteristics of natural elements in residential space by considering essential and psychological aspects more than previous researches on residential space with practical and functional aspects. As natural elements, this study put limits on plants and water that are used a lot in the interior space, and by dividing introduction types into recomposition of courtyard space, spatial partition and decorative elements, this study carried out a case analysis of residential space structures recently completed in Japan. As a basic research on space planning that is desperately required by change in the residential life paradigm and on the basis of understanding about nature, it is expected that the results of this study will be used as design basic data useful when establishing plans of introducing natural elements for residential space in the future.
