In this paper, we investigate the conventional topological interference management (TIM) with proposed network topology such as 8 trigram (8 user networks). The key observation is that optimal symmetric degree of freedom (DoF) can be achieved for 8 user network with different channel coherence times by adaptively selecting the interference alignment scheme via controlling the alignment feasibility of the transmitted signals. However, this yields a very complex problem, for which we use the combination of different schemes such as interference avoidance and repetition coding. In addition to the above schemes, we propose a triangular transmit cooperation (TTC) algorithm for 8 user networks to achieve the optimal symmetric DoF. And We apply the principle of complementarity of 8 trigram to remove the interferences, and correspond the concepts of win-win and conflict to direct and indirect signals of transmit and receive respectively. We find that the principle of complementarity comes out from the trigram of I Ching. That is, we apply the relation of confrontation and coexistence to 8 transmitters and receivers, and get the results of symmetric DoF of 4/3.

Opportunistic interference alignment (OIA) has been proposed for multi-cell random access networks (RAN), which minimizes the generating interference to neighboring RANs and yields better performance compared with the conventional techniques. The OIA for RANs considers both physical (PHY) and medium access control (MAC) layers. In this paper, we introduce a protocol of which each user maximizes the transmit signal regardless of the generating interference to neighboring RANs, contrary to the OIA technique. In addition, we compare the performance of the signal-maximization technique with the OIA technique.

In this paper, we propose a non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) method based on channel alignment to simultaneously transmit multiple unicast and multicast streams in frequency-efficient manner. In this method, all receivers in a multicast cluster use the receive beamforming vectors that align their channels, and the base station uses the aligned channel information to design the transmit beamforming vectors that eliminate interference between multicast clusters. Using the effective receive channel information combined with the transmit beamforming vectors, unicast receivers design their own receive beamforming vectors that eliminate interference between unicast receivers. Since the proposed method effectively eliminates the interference, it achieves a higher sum rate than the existing orthogonal multiple access (OMA) method in high SNR regions. In addition, we present a hybrid method that exploits the benefits of the proposed NOMA method and the existing OMA method. Depending on the channel state, the hybrid method adaptively employs the existing OMA method, which improves the received signal power, in low SNR regions and the proposed NOMA method, which effectively eliminates the interference, in high SNR regions, thereby achieving a good sum rate over the entire SNR region.
A standard paradigm for the allocation of wireless resources in communication demands symmetry, that is, all users are assumed to be on equal footing and hence get equal shares of the system's communication capabilities. However, there are situations in which "prime users" should be given priority, as for example in the transmission of emergency messages. We examine prioritization policies that could be implemented at the physical layer and propose a new one, termed interference priority (IP), which is shown to have excellent performance. We evaluate the performance of these prioritization techniques both in controlled settings and within the context of a full cellular system and discuss the impact of prioritized use of resources on the unprioritized users.

We have studied electro-optical characteristics and stability of liquid crystal director depending on electrode patterning of common electrode on top substrate in patterned vertical alignment (PVA) mode. In the present studies, new type of common electrode pattern was suggested to enhance a dark state by reducing interference area due to data signal. According to the simulation result, PVA device with new common electrode pattern contributed to Improvement of an aperture ratio.

In this paper, we introduce three types of opportunistic interference management strategies in multi-cell uplink networks with time-invariant channel coefficients. First, we propose two types of opportunistic interference mitigation techniques, where each base station (BS) opportunistically selects a set of users who generate the minimum interference to the other BSs, and then their performance is analyzed in terms of degrees-of-freedom (DoF). Second, we propose a distributed opportunistic scheduling, where each BS opportunistically select a user using a scheduler designed based on two threshold, and then its performance is analyzed in terms of throughput scaling law. Finally, numerical evaluation is performed to verify our result.

In this paper, we investigate achieving the full diversity order and power gains in case of using OSTBCs and quasi-OSBCs in the x channel system with interference alignment with more than 2 antennas at each terminal. A slight degradation is remarked in the case of quasi-OSTBCs. In terms of receiver structure, we show that due to the favorable structure of the channel matrices, the simple zero-forcing receiver achieves the full diversity order, while the interference cancellation receiver leads to degradations in performance. As compared to the conventional scheme, simulation results demonstrate that our proposed schemes achieve 14dB and 16.5dB of gain at a target bit error rate (BER) of 10-4 in the case of OSTBCs with 3 and 4 antennas at each terminal, respectively, while achieving the same spectral efficiency. Also, a gain of 10dB is achieved at the same target BER in the case of quasi-OSTBC with 4 antennas at each terminal.

We propose an interference space reuse (ISR) algorithm for the MU-MIMO design in 3-cell downlink interference channels. Also, we provide a strategy for the adoption of the ISR scheme in the cellular network. In the multicell interference channels, the cell edge users may undergo severe interferences and their signals should be protected from the interferers for reliable transmissions. However, the intra cell users do not only experience small interferences but also they require small transmission power for stable communication. We provide a vector design algorithm based on ISR, where intra cell users are served through reusing the cell edge users' interference space. The performance enhancement reaches 20% compared to the fractional frequency reuse (FFR) scheme combined with IA through the scheduling between the cell edge users and the intra cell users. Also, it can be used to enhance the cell edge throughput when the quality of service (QoS) requirements of the intra cell users are fixed.
We demonstrate an alternative alignment process using transferring process on solution driven HfZnO film. Parallel pattern is firstly fabricated on a silicon wafer by laser interference lithography. Prepared HfZnO solution fabricated by sol-gel process is spin-coated on a glass substrate. The silicon wafer with parallel pattern is placed on the HfZnO film and annealed at $100^{\circ}C$ for 30 min. After transferring process, parallel grooves on the HfZnO film is obtained which is confirmed by atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Uniform liquid crystal alignment is achieved which is attributed to an anisotropic characteristic of HfZnO film by parallel grooves. The liquid crystal cell exhibited a pretilt angle of $0.25^{\circ}$ which showed a homogeneous alignment property.
We demonstrate an effect of annealing temperature on imprinting process of BiLaO thin film for liquid crystal alignment. BiLaO prepared sol-gel process was deposited by spin coating on a glass substrate, and then transferred to a pre-fabricated aligned pattern which is fabricated on a silicon wafer by laser interference lithography. Thin film was annealed at different temperature of 100, 150, 200, and 250 ℃. From the polarized optical microscopy analysis, the liquid crystal orientation was not uniform at the annealing temperature of 200 ℃ or lower and the uniform liquid crystal alignment characteristics were confirmed at the annealing temperature of 250 ℃. From atomic force microscopy, the pattern was not transferred at a temperature of 200 ℃ or lower. In contrast, the pattern was transferred at 250 ℃. Anisotropy of the thin film was obtained by the alignment pattern transferred at a temperature of 250 ℃, and the liquid crystal molecules could be evenly oriented on the thin film. Therefore, it was confirmed that the liquid crystal alignment process by the imprinting process of the BiLaO oxide film was affected by the annealing temperature.
