철도차량용 보조전원장치에 관한 연구 (The Study of Auxiliary Power Unit for locomotive)

  • There are many increasing demands for efficient high power density of auxiliary power unit(APU) for high speed traction application. Many techniques have been proposed to measure the voltage flicker on the traditional pulse width modulation(PWM) inverter. This paper proposes a novel functionality of the static inverter on the APU to mitigate the voltage flicker and regulate the output voltage. A new control algorithm for the inverter based on the Hilbert transform(HT) is presented. The HT is employed as an effective technique for tracking the voltage flicker levels in APU systems. Simulation results are provided to verify the tracking capabilities of the HT and to evaluate the performance of the proposed DG interface for multi-function operation.

전기철도 집전장치의 아크량에 따른 비디오 이미지 분석 (Video Image Analysis in Accordance with Power Density of Arcing for Current Collection System in Electric Railway)

  • This paper presents an analysis methods for current collection quality in catenary system by means of video image based monitoring system. Arcing is the sparking at the interface point between pantograph and contact wire when the electric trains have traction current values at speed. Percentage of arcing at maximum line speed is measurable parameters for compliance with the requirements on dynamic behaviour of the interface between pantograph and contact wire in accordance with requirement of IEC and EN standards. The arc detector and video is installed on a train aim at the trailing contact strip according to the travel direction. The arc detector presented and measured verity of value such as the duration and power density of each arc and the video image is measured a image when the arc is occurred in pantograph. In this paper we analysis of video image in accordance with power density of arcing from arc detector and compared with video image and power density of arcing so as to produce quality of arcing from image.

유한차분법을 이용한 3차원 지진파 전파 모의 (Three-Dimensional Simulation of Seismic Wave Propagation in Elastic Media Using Finite-Difference Method)

  • The elastic wave equation is solved using the finite-difference method in 3D space to simulate the seismic wave propagation. It is based on the velocity-stress formulation of the equation of motion on a staggered grid. The nonreflecting boundary conditions are used to attenuate the wave field close to the numerical boundary. To satisfy the stress-free conditions at the free-surface boundary, a new formulation combining the zero-stress formalism with the vacuum one is applied. The effective media parameters are employed to satisfy the traction continuity condition across the media interface. With use of the moment-tensor components, the wide range of source mechanism parameters can be specified. The numerical experiments are carried out in order to test the applicability and accuracy of this scheme and to understand the fundamental features of the wave propagation under the generalized elastic media structure. Computational results show that the scheme is sufficiently accurate for modeling wave propagation in 3D elastic media and generates all the possible phases appropriately in under the given heterogeneous velocity structure. Also the characteristics of the ground motion in an sedimentary basin such as the amplification, trapping, and focusing of the elastic wave energy are well represented. These results demonstrate the use of this simulation method will be helpful for modeling the ground motion of seismological and engineering purpose like earthquake hazard assessment, seismic design, city planning, and etc..

  • Main characteristic in railroad is the guided movement of the wheel by the track through a metal-to-metal contact, conferring to the rail vehicle a single degree of freedom. There are defects such as head check, shelling, corrugation, squats etc in surface of the rail by interface between the wheel and rail. These defects bring about reducing the life-cycle of rails and track components and increasing noises. In case of bad conditions, it is possible to happen to full-scale accident such as derailment. Recently, the track capacity has been increased for increasing speed and operation efficiency. So, maintenance and indirect cost have been increased. Currently, a coating method of rail construction is proposed by using the ceramics in Korea. Rails are used as the earth in electrical railroad systems. Currently traction return current is flowed through wheels of trains. In case of rails coated, problems are caused in the contact power between wheel and coating material of spray. In this paper, electric model is presented in the AT feeding method. In case of rails coated, electric model is presented. Also, standard resistance of the ceramic is demonstrated by contact power between wheel and coating material of spray.

Changes in a facial recognition algorithm following different types of orthognathic surgery: a comparative study

  • Objectives: Contemporary biometric technologies have been gaining traction in both public and private security sectors. Facial recognition is the most commonly used biometric technology for this purpose. We aimed to evaluate the ability of a publicly available facial recognition application program interface to calculate similarity scores of presurgical and postsurgical photographs of patients who had orthognathic surgery. Materials and Methods: Presurgical and postsurgical photographs of 75 patients who had orthognathic surgery between January 2018 and November 2020 in our department were used. Frontal photographs of patients in relaxed and smiling states were taken. The patients were classified into three groups: Group 2 had one-jaw surgery, Group 3 had two-jaw surgery to correct mandibular prognathism, and Group 4 had two-jaw surgery to correct facial asymmetry. For comparison, photographs of 10 participants were used as controls (Group 1). Two facial recognition application programs (Face X and Azure) were used to assess similarity scores. Results: The similarity scores in the two programs showed significant results. The similarity score of the control group, which did not undergo orthognathic surgery, was the highest. The results for Group 2, Group 3, and Group 4 were higher in the order of Group 2, Group 3, and Group 4. Conclusion: In this study, all orthodontic patients were recognized as the same person using the face recognition program before and after surgery. A significant difference in similarity results was obtained between the groups with both Face X and Azure and in both relaxed and smiling states.

그라우저 효과를 고려한 야지궤도차량의 지반추력 평가연구 (Fundamental Study on the Effect of Grousers on the Soil Thrust of Off-road Tracked Vehicles)

  • 야지궤도차량 구동 시 무한궤도를 통해 전달된 엔진출력은 지반-궤도 접지면에서 지반을 전단시켜 슬립변위 및 지반추력을 발현시킨다. 이때 지반추력의 반력이 야지궤도차량의 구동력으로 작용하는데, 지반이 연약하여 구동에 필요한 지반추력을 확보하기 어려운 경우에는 무한궤도 표면에 그라우저를 부착하여 구동성능을 개선시킨다. 본 연구는 그라우저 효과를 적절히 고려하여 야지궤도차량의 지반추력을 평가하기 위한 기초연구로서 수행되었다. 우선 지반-궤도 접지면의 전단메커니즘을 바탕으로 그라우저가 부착된 야지궤도차량의 지반추력을 평가하기 위한 방법을 새로이 제안하였다. 이를 통해 그라우저가 야지궤도차량의 구동성능에 미치는 영향을 평가한 결과, 그라우저가 부착됨에 따라 야지궤도차량의 전체지반추력이 증가하여 구동성능이 개선되는 것을 확인하였다. 특히, 그라우저의 길이가 증가하고 간격이 가까울수록 전체지반추력 증가효과가 명확해지는 것으로 나타나, 그라우저 형상비(=간격/길이)가 작을수록 야지궤도차량의 구동성능을 더욱 크게 개선시킬 수 있을 것이라 판단된다.

Control and Analysis of an Integrated Bidirectional DC/AC and DC/DC Converters for Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle Applications

  • The plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) are specialized hybrid electric vehicles that have the potential to obtain enough energy for average daily commuting from batteries. The PHEV battery would be recharged from the power grid at home or at work and would thus allow for a reduction in the overall fuel consumption. This paper proposes an integrated power electronics interface for PHEVs, which consists of a novel Eight-Switch Inverter (ESI) and an interleaved DC/DC converter, in order to reduce the cost, the mass and the size of the power electronics unit (PEU) with high performance at any operating mode. In the proposed configuration, a novel Eight-Switch Inverter (ESI) is able to function as a bidirectional single-phase AC/DC battery charger/ vehicle to grid (V2G) and to transfer electrical energy between the DC-link (connected to the battery) and the electric traction system as DC/AC inverter. In addition, a bidirectional-interleaved DC/DC converter with dual-loop controller is proposed for interfacing the ESI to a low-voltage battery pack in order to minimize the ripple of the battery current and to improve the efficiency of the DC system with lower inductor size. To validate the performance of the proposed configuration, the indirect field-oriented control (IFOC) based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) is proposed to optimize the efficiency of the AC drive system in PHEVs. The maximum efficiency of the motor is obtained by the evaluation of optimal rotor flux at any operating point, where the PSO is applied to evaluate the optimal flux. Moreover, an improved AC/DC controller based Proportional-Resonant Control (PRC) is proposed in order to reduce the THD of the input current in charger/V2G modes. The proposed configuration is analyzed and its performance is validated using simulated results obtained in MATLAB/ SIMULINK. Furthermore, it is experimentally validated with results obtained from the prototypes that have been developed and built in the laboratory based on TMS320F2808 DSP.

Three-Level H-Bridge 컨버터를 이용한 철도차량용 지능형 변압기의 구조 및 제어 (Structure and Control of Smart Transformer with Single-Phase Three-Level H-Bridge Cascade Converter for Railway Traction System)

  • 본 논문은 철도차량의 추진용 유입식 변압기 및 AC/DC 컨버터를 대체하기 위한 지능형 변압기의 구조를 제안한다. 제안된 지능형 변압기는 반도체 스위칭 소자 및 고주파 변압기를 사용한 양방향 전력 변환 컨버터의 형태로써, 기존 변압기에 비해 경량화 되고, 역률 제어 등의 능동적인 제어 성능으로 인해 단상 계통 전원의 효율적인 활용을 가능하게 한다. 제안하는 지능형 변압기는 60Hz 교류 고전압을 직류 고전압으로 변환하기 위한 정류단으로 Neutral point clamped type 의 H-bridge 컨버터를 여러 개 직렬 연결해 구성했다. 직류로 변환된 입력단 전력은 고주파 변압기와 Neutral point clamped type H-bridge 컨버터 2개로 구성된 Dual-Active-Bridge 컨버터를 이용해 출력측에 필요한 저전압을 공급할 수 있도록 했다. 또한, 본 논문에서는 다수의 컨버터 모듈 내부 직류단 전압을 균형제어하며, 단상 교류 전원에서 직류 출력 전원간의 양방향 전력 제어를 가능하게 하는 제어 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 지능형 변압기의 구조 및 제어 시스템은 75kVA 급 3.3kVrms 입력, 750VDC 출력의 지능형 변압기를 설계 및 회로 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 검증했다.
