A Study on the Development of Autometic Design System for TRIM DIE (자동차 트림다이 자동설계 시스템 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Designing Trim die block is a complicated and time-consuming process heavily resting on the experience of the designer. To reduce design time and human errors, a knowledge base is used to automated the design process. In this paper, a framework of the Rule-based CAD System is presented for trim die block design consisting of a rule-base, design process control module and geometric modeler (CATIA). The rule-base includes design rules and know-how of design specialist. CATIA is used as the overall CAD environment and rule-base and design control modules are developed by C++ language with an interface to CATIA. Using the rule-base, the designer can explore alternating designs fast by changing design parameters and the part-list is automatically created which avoids miscommunication.

  • Recently. many projects have been actively implementing IPsec on the various Operating Systems for security of IPv6 network. But there is no existing tool that checks the IPsec-based systems, which provide IPsec services, work Properly and provide their network security services well In the IPv6 network. In this paper, we design SERDL(Security Evaluation Rule Description Language) and rule execution tool for evaluating security of the IPv6 network, and we provide implementation details. The system Is divided into following parts : User Interface part, Rule Execution Module part, DBMS part and agent that gathering information needed for security test.

  • Domestic apartment housing has been designed in accordance with the new housing supply-driven policies for a long time. As a result, its design, material production, construction, maintenance and remodeling process, rather than being systematically performed, were individually approached to cause insufficient linkage between technologies. For these problems and the supply of long life housing, active research on long life housing has been conducted in Korea since 2005. However, the existing research on long life housing has been focused on a single item with no connection made between infill systems, and no overall interface rule, resulting in no activation of the business. In this study, for the supply and activation of long life housing, we aim to analyze the problems of existing long life housing to set up its matching standards for infill systems.

  • 본 논문에서는 설계 경험이 적은 설계자가 효율적으로 선급규정을 이용하여 선체설계를 할 수 있도록, 범용 전문가시스템 쉘(Shell)인 NEXPERT를 이용하여, 선체 구조설계를 지원할 수 있는 전문가시스템을 개발하였다. 먼저, 선급규정집(LLoyd Rule)과 기존의 rule scantling프로그램으로부터 지식을 추출하고, 이를 바탕으로 객체지향개념에 의해 지식의 그룹핑과 계층화를 시도하였다. 또한, NEXPERT가 갖고 있는 외부 프로그램과의 접속기능 (Cellable Interface)을 이용하여 각종 설계에 필요한 프로그램과 실적선 데이타베이스를 접속하였다. 특히, Motif를 이용한 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스(Graphical User Interface:GUI)를 도입하였고, 설계자가 결과에 대해 검토를 할 수 있도록 Knowledge tracing기능을 부여함으로써, 사용자 지향의 구조부재 치수 결정 지원 전문가 시스템을 개발하였다. 이러한 연구를 통해 범용 전문가시스템이 선박설계에 이용될 수 있다는 가능성을 보였으며, 그 추구해야할 방향을 설정하였다. 특히, 어떤 설계결정에 이르는데 관여한 규칙들을 보여주며, 객체로 정의된 설계부재들의 값을 확인하게 함으로써 설계자가 효율적인 설계를 수행할 수 있게 되었다.

The Definition of Data Structure for Design Knowledge Database and Development of the Interface Program for using Natural Language Processing (설계지식 데이터베이스의 자료구조 규명과 자연어처리를 이용한 인터페이스 프로그램 개발)

  • In this study, by using the natural language processing of the field of artificial intelligence, automated index was performed. And then, the Natural Language Processing Interface for knowledge representation(NALPI) has been developed. Furthermore, the DEsign KnOwledge DataBase(DEKODB) has been also developed, which is designed to interlock the knowledge base. The DEKODB processes both the documented design-data, like a concrete standard specification, and the design knowledge from an expert. The DEKODB is also simulates the design space of structures accordance with the production rule, and thus it is determined that DEKODB can be used as a engine to retrieve new knowledge and to implement knowledge base that is necessary to the development of automatic design system. The application field of the system, which has been developed in this study, can be expanded by supplement of the design knowledge at DEKODB and developing dictionaries for foreign languages. Furthermore, the perfect automation at the data accumulation and development of the automatic rule generator should benefit the unified design automation.

  • In this paper, an integrated planning system is introduced for the efficient operation of container terminal. It consists of discharging and loading planning, yard planning, and berth scheduling subsystem. This interface of this system is considered for user's convenience, and the rule-based system is suggested and developed in order to make planning with automatic procedures, warning functions for errors.

A Study on a Trend of Human Error Types Observed in a Simulated Computerized Nuclear Power Plant Control Room

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate a trend of human error types observed in a series of verification and validation experiments for an Advanced Control Room(ACR) equipped with Lager Display Panel(LDP), Work Station Flat Panel Display(WS FPD), list type Alarm System(AS), Soft Control(SC) and Computerized Procedure System(CPS). Background: Operator behaviors in a fully computerized control room are quite different from those in a traditional hard-wired control room. Operators in an ACR all together monitor plant status and variables through their own interface system such as LDP and WS FPD, are notified of abnormal plant status through their own list type AS, control the plant through their own SC, and follow the structured procedure through their own CPS whereas operators in a traditional control room only separately do their duty directed by their supervisor. Especially the secondary task such as manipulating the user interface of ACR can be an extra burden to all the operators including the supervisor. Method: The Reason's human error classification method was applied to operators' behavioral data collected from a series of verification and validation experiments where operators showed their plant operational behaviors under a couple of harsh scenarios using the ACR simulator. Results: As operators accustomed to the new ACR system, knowledge or rule based mistakes appearing frequently in the early series of experiments decreased drastically in the latest stage of the series. Slip and lapse types of errors were observed throughout the series of experiments. Conclusion: Education and training can be one of the most important factors for the operators accustomed to the traditional control room to be adapted to the new system and to run the ACR successfully. Application: The results of this study implied that knowledge or rule based mistakes can be reduced by training and education but that lapse type errors might be reduced only through innovative improvement in human-system interface design or teamwork culture design including a new leadership style suitable for ACR.

Precise Static Contact Angle Measurements Using Pythagolas Rule (피타고라스 원리를 이용한 정적 접촉각 정밀 각도 측정방법)

  • Pythagolas rule was used for investigation of static contact angle in particular figures. Static contact angle measurement was important to evaluate the wettability between solid and liquid. Optimum measurement method and standardization of calculation for static contact angle were investigated for practical application. Optimum diameter of droplet for static contact angle measurement was confirmed as 1 mm. Contact angle measurement using Pythagolas rule was also used to calculate advancing, receding angle and wettability of different surface condition. At last, it was concluded that the Pythagolas rule method was more accurate than general lineation method for static contact angle measurement.

  • This paper is concerned with an automatic generation of BOM (Bill Of Material) for a bicycle frame set using a knowledge based system. The major components module system includes : (1) Part information retrieval in CAD drawing, (2) BOM code generation rule, and (3) Database interface. The knowledge based system includes a rule base and a fact base. The fact base consists of basic, variant, and optional components of the standard BOMs of frame sets. The rule contains rules for generating new BOM code in case that the specified is not in the database. The system was implemented on a SUN workstation under Open Windows environments. AutoCAD for CAD drawing was also used.
