  • This paper presents multi-fidelity modeling and simulation (M&S) methodology to enhance simulation performance of engineering-level defense models. In this approach, a set of models with varying degrees of fidelity is exercised to reduce computational expense maintaining a similar level of system effectiveness. For multi-fidelity M&S principles, this paper defines model fidelity from two perspectives (i.e., model behavior and execution), and suggests the Fidelity Change Point (FCP) to specify the fidelity conversion. With these concepts, this paper centers on three ideas: 1) two models' structure which are the Behavioral-Fidelity Interchangeable Model (B-FIM) and the Executional-Fidelity Interchangeable Model (E-FIM), 2) modeling formalism, and 3) a simulation algorithm to support them. From an abstract case study regarding a target tracking scenario with the utilization of the proposed method, we can gain interesting experimental results regarding the enhancement of simulation performance. Finally, we expect that this work will serve various M&S-based analysis areas for enhancing simulation performance.

  • There is an increasing curiosity in Nordic as well as Far East Asian countries about senior cohousing, where the middle-aged and elderly people, 55+. form a community for independent living. What are the ideas behind senior cohousins? Why are people moving to senior cohousing community? What may senior cohousing provide and mean for individuals and groups of the elderly? Is senior cohousing a sustainable idea for future generations of elderly people? There is a curiosity among elderly people looking for interesting alternatives. Municipalities and state authorities hope that senior cohousing can contribute to the welfare of the elderly as the scope far support by the public sector is decreasing. Actors in the building sector are interested In investment and meeting the demands. In Denmark and Sweden the senior cohousing concept had a revival around 1985. In Denmark there has been a vivid discussion and plenty of books have been published. In Sweden there are few evaluations but an increasing interest. From different points of view, Danish, Swedish and Nordic as well as Far East Asian countries, there is a concern to explore and compare to get more facts and deeper understanding far further actions. This is a comparative study of inhabitants' life satisfaction in cohousing communities in Denmark and Sweden. The study is based on discussions with cohousing providers, study-visits in cohousing communities and a questionnaire to residents themselves. Study-visits took place during springtime and the questionnaires were handled spring and summer of 2002. 655 seniors responded to the questionnaire from 14 seniorbofae llesskaber (rented or housing cooperatives) in Denmark, 11 seniorhus within the SABO sector (municipality owned housing with rental apartments) and 8 housing cooperatives initiated by the Seniorgarden Housing Company in Sweden. Data were analyzed by SPSS program, using frequency, percentage, cross-tab and chi-square test. This paper focused three major areas of interest; 1)characteristics of the inhabitants. 2) participation in common activities and mutual cooperation among residents and 3) evaluative outcomes from the inhabitants' points of view. Mainly the inhabitants expressed quite positive experiences of their living environment and everyday lift and a few difference was found in life satisfaction between Denmark and Sweden.

  • Ultrasonic guided waves are gaining increasing attention for the inspection of platelike and rodlike structures. At the same time, inspection methods that do not require contact with the test piece are being developed for advanced applications. This paper capitalizes on recent advances in the areas of guided wave ultrasonics and noncontact ultrasonics to demonstrate a superior method for the nondestructive detection of defects thinning simulating hidden corrosion in thin aluminum plates. The proposed approach uses EMAT(electro-magnetic acoustic transducer) for the noncontact generation and detection of guided waves. Interesting features in the dispersive behavior of selected guided modes are used for the detection of plate thinning. It is shown that mode cutoff measurements provide a qualitative detection of defects thinning. Measurement of the mode group velocity can be also used to quantify depth thinning.

  • The multiphase flow analysis related to phase change can be adapted to lots of areas such as evaporation and condensation has many interesting branches due to complicated phenomenon. In this study, the experimental investigation of cryogenic liquid in the porous media with various densities was shown how the cryogenic liquid behaves in the porous structure. For this study, permeability behaviors under different applying pressure of the glass wool with different bulk densities are discussed. Experimental investigation on the behavior of cryogenic liquefied nitrogen in the porous media is conducted. The result was that the non linearity of pressure gradient with location is increased and the permeability is decreased as the bulk density of glass wool increased. Lastly, simulation results with CFD commercial package program are used to realize the cryogenic liquid's flow in porous media to compare the finding with experimental results.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the changing housing construction in Jeju-do which is composed of two cities(Jeju-si, Seogwipo-si). The number of indigenous population and migrating population of Jeju-do has been increasing every year because it has more beautiful scenery, interesting culture and a higher ratio of natural green area to urban area than other provinces(inland). More than 70% of population in Jeju-si is concentrated in dong-area. As a result, urban area and commercial area are expanding in entire Jeju-do. On the other hand, green area and non-urban area of Jeju-do are decreasing steadily. And there was a lot of changing during a short of time after 2010 because of internationalization and urban development etc.. This study is an analysis about the changing of housing in Jeju-do by statistical data. As a results of the analysis. I discovered that 1) The supply ratio of available housing in Jeju-do is higher than other inland cities in other parts of the country. 2) Housing constructing is influenced by moving-in and moving-out population. 3) There are more detached houses in Jeju-do than apartments. The opposite phenomenon occurs in other provinces (inland cities). However, the number of detached houses is gradually declining in Jeju-do since 2000. 4) Most detached homes in Jeju-do have an area of $60m^2{\sim}90m^2$. Most apartments have smaller areas than $60m^2{\sim}90m^2$. Seogwipo has homes with a larger area than Jeju-si. 5) The ratio of concrete structure houses is increasing at high speed because of constructing of apartment buildings, on the other hand, the ratio of brick structure house is decreasing gradually. Finally, Even though Jeju-do has different from housing culture of inland, it is changing slowly like inland housing types.

  • Internet of things (IoT) is a new paradigm for collecting, processing and analyzing various contents in order to detect anomalies and to monitor particular patterns in a specific environment. The collected data can be used to discover new patterns and to offer new insights. IoT-enabled data mashup is a new technology to combine various types of information from multiple sources into a single web service. Mashup services create a new horizon for different applications. Environmental monitoring is a serious tool for the state and private organizations, which are located in regions with environmental hazards and seek to gain insights to detect hazards and locate them clearly. These organizations may utilize IoT - enabled data mashup service to merge different types of datasets from different IoT sensor networks in order to leverage their data analytics performance and the accuracy of the predictions. This paper presents an IoT - enabled data mashup service, where the multimedia data is collected from the various IoT platforms, then fed into an environmental cognition service which executes different image processing techniques such as noise removal, segmentation, and feature extraction, in order to detect interesting patterns in hazardous areas. The noise present in the captured images is eliminated with the help of a noise removal and background subtraction processes. Markov based approach was utilized to segment the possible regions of interest. The viable features within each region were extracted using a multiresolution wavelet transform, then fed into a discriminative classifier to extract various patterns. Experimental results have shown an accurate detection performance and adequate processing time for the proposed approach. We also provide a data mashup scenario for an IoT-enabled environmental hazard detection service and experimentation results.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of Jeju dialect of service worker on tourist image, tourist satisfaction and revisit intention. The Regional dialect can be viewed as a cultural element that characterizes the region, It also serves as a medium to inform tourists of the feelings they experience while they are out of their area and visiting other areas. As a result of the study, it was found that the communication factors in the language communication of dialects had a positive(+) effect on the cognitive and emotional images of tourist sites. Interesting factors showed positive(+) effect on cognitive image of sightseeing spot, but did not affect emotional image. As a result of the study, it should be noted that excessive use of regional dialects may not necessarily have a positive effect on the emotions of tourists. If you want to develop tourist products using dialects, you need to pay attention to the use of words and expressions so that there is no misunderstanding.

  • Kidult trend has continued to influence diverse areas such as fashion, advertisement, interior, cosmetics, and so on in the modern age. As combined word of kid and adult, a Kidult is an adult who participates in youth culture and activities traditionally intended for children. This study intends to check out how the phenomenon of Kidult trend is exhibited in fashion area as well as to develop fashion design for kidult inspired by the images shown in an amusement park. The method of study is two-fold. One is a critical review of previous literature and the other is a development of fashion design based on it. The literature study is referred to books of fashion, books of trend and data collected through internet, and design results are presented using mainly quilting and knitting techniques. The results are as follows. Firstly, a kidult fashion was expressed playful and interesting by the sensibilities of kidults that hope to return to the innocence of childhood reminiscing about the good old days. Secondly, a characteristic of the fashion design for kidults is to display the innovative and diverse design with exaggerated expression and a broad spectrum of colors. One's own unique style can be developed through memories and fantasies from fairy tales in childhood. Thirdly, themes of amusement parks were an appropriate means to show the characteristics of the kidults. A variety of characters and buildings and shapes of the rides in the amusement parks were useful for the design motive targeting for the customers with the kidult characteristics and images of fashion and accessories design. Fourthly, inspired by the amusement parks, the work in this research has presented the new kidult styles designed as various forms combining inner feelings that seek distinctive and unique styles and amusement features.

  • Malicious codes uses generic unpacking technique to make it hard for analyzers to detect their programs. Recently their has been several researches about generic packet to prevent or detect these techniques. And they try to focus on the codes that repeats while generic packing is doing compression because generic packing technique executes after it is decompressed. And they try to focus on the codes that repeats while generic packing is doing compression because generic packing technique executes after it is decompressed. Therefore, this makes a interesting performance which shows a similar address value from the codes which are repeated several times what is different from the normal program codes. By dividing these codes into regularly separated areas we can find that the generic unpacking codes have a small entropy value compared to normal codes. Using this method, it is possible to identify any program if it is a generic unpacking code or not even though we do not know what kind of algorithm it uses. This paper suggests a way of disarming the generic codes by using the low value entropy value which comes out from the Opcode addresses when generic unpacking codes try to decompress.
