Recently, due to the evolution of technology, the field of neurosurgery is receiving spotlight. In particular endovascular neurosurgery has gained a great interest along with the advancement of the modern neurosurgery. The most remarkable advances were made in embolization of the cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and intracranial stenosis during the past 10 years. These advances will further change the role of neurosurgeons in treating cerebrovascular disease. Because interventional neuroradiologists have performed most of procedures in the past, neurosurgeons have been deprived of chances to learn endovascular procedure. This article discusses the development of technological aspect of endovascular neurosurgery in chronological order. By understanding the history and current status of the endovascular surgery, the future of neurosurgery will be promising.

As the demand for distance education increases, interest in the management of learners' rights is increasing. Blockchain technology is a technology that guarantees the integrity of the learner's learning history, and enables learner-led learning control, data security, and sharing of learning resources. In this paper, we proposed a blockchain technology-based learning management system based on Hyperledger Fabric that can be verified through permission between nodes among blockchain platforms. Learning resources can be shared differentially according to the learning progress. Also the percentage of individual learners that can be managed. As a result of the study, the superiority of the platform in terms of convenience compared to the existing platform was demonstrated. As a result of the performance evaluation for the research in this paper, it was confirmed that the convenience was improved by more than 5%, and the performance was 4-5% superior to the existing platform in terms of learner satisfaction.

매설가스배관의 내진설계에서 종방향 변형률은 중요한 평가 요소이다. 일반적으로 지진파를 조화파로 단순화하며 이의 파장은 토층의 주기와 전단파 속도의 곱으로 계산하여 매설관의 응답을 계산하는 경험적 설계방법이 널리 사용되지만 이의 정확성이 평가된 사례가 없다. 본 연구에서는 1차원 지반응답해석을 수행하여 매설심도에서의 변위-시간 이력을 추출하였으며, 이를 적용한 시간이력해석을 수행하여 매설관의 응답을 평가하였다. 매설관과 지반의 상호작용은 3차원 쉘-스프링 모델을 사용하여 모사하였다. 시간이력해석으로 계산된 결과는 설계방법과 비교하여 이의 정확성을 평가하였다. 비교 결과, 파장을 예측하기 위해서는 지반응답해석을 수행해야 하는 것으로 나타났다. 토층의 고유주기는 가속도의 탁월주기를 예측하는 데에는 활용될 수 있으나 변위의 탁월주기를 예측할 수 없는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 파장에 대한 정확한 정보가 제공될 경우, 조화파에 대하여 제시된 해석해는 정확도가 높으며 설계에 적용 가능한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 대상이 동시베리아 지역에 적용될 매설가스관이라 동시베리아 지역의 대표 주상도를 해석 에 사용하였지만 본 연구의 결론은 기타 모든 지역에 적용 가능하며 가스관뿐만 아니라 상수도관 등 다양한 매설관에 적용 가능하다.

Since the end of the Cold War, debate about the grand struggle between capitalism and communism has been largely replaced by debate about religious sectarianism. Some have even referred to a "clash of civilizations" in the wake of the spread of Islamic fundamentalism. This is in fact an old debate, but it has been given new life by arguments about globalization and economic development as envisioned by the West, and especially by the terrorist attacks in New York on September 11, 2001. While the political right has had little difficulty treating religious belief as a fundamental human and social interest, much of the political left has remained committed to secular Enlightenment, even when it criticizes the hegemony of the West. The dispute depends upon competing notions of history, secularism, and progress, and ultimately on the possibility or desirability of universal solidarity. While for many a world unified by one religion may no longer make sense, the old Enlightenment dream that a single version of secular and universal reason will eventually prevail over religious difference may also need to be reconsidered. The process that we call secularization is neither as singular, nor as transparent, as we might think.

At a time when the demand for environmentally friendly products is soaring, the fashion industry is following suit. The industry is showing particular interest in natural-dyed products. Against this backdrop, this study conducted a literature review on the history of natural dyeing for textiles and on the types of natural dyes. In addition, this study identified recent trends in the fashion industry and applied the findings from the literature review to those trends. Through this process, possibilities for new designs were suggested. This study proposed designs for various items-t shirts, one-piece dresses, blouses, skirts, and knitwear-by using threads and textiles dyed from mugwort, Polygonum indigo, safflowers, Lithospermum erythrorhizon, and Sophora japonica flowers. This study is also meaningful in that it broadens the boundaries of design for natural-dyed fashion products. To that end, various designs were attempted by combining natural-dyed textiles or knits with leather, denim, and fur.

Lymph node status is the single most important prognostic factor in oral cancer because lymph node involvement decreases overall survival by 50%. Appropriate management of the regional lymphatics, therefore, plays a central role in the treatment of the oral cancer patients. The purposes of this article are to present the history of neck dissections, including current neck dissection classification, describe the technique of the most common neck dissection applicable to oral cavity cancers, and discuss some of the complications associated with neck dissection. Finally, a brief review of elective neck dissection and sentinel lymph node biopsy will be presented. It is necessary that dentists have to be interested in oral cancer and these interest will make it possible to prevent oral cancer, detect it earlier and also improve the prognosis, survival and the quality of life of survivors.

In this paper, a simplified mathematical procedure is presented to incorporate nonlinearity in soil material to predict the deceleration time history, penetration depth and other relevant parameters for normal impact of missiles into soil targets. Numerical method is employed for these predictions. The results of the study are compared with experimental observations and predictions available in the literature. A good agreement is found with experimental observations and an improvement is observed with existing predictions. A comparison is also made with linear soil model. Some parametric studies are also carried out to obtain the results of practical interest.

When a tubular cantilever beam is loaded by a dynamic force applied transversely at its tip, the strain hardening of the material tends to increase the load carrying capacity and local buckling and cross-sectional overlization occurring in the tube section tends to reduce the moment carrying capacity and results in structural softening. A theoretical model is presented in this paper to analyze the deformation of a tubular beam in a dynamic response mode. Based on a large deflection analysis, the hardening/softening M-${\kappa}$ relationship is introduced. The main interest is on the curvature development history and the deformed configuration of the beam.

The time-dependent analysis of prestressed concrete bridges built adopting the incremental launching technique is presented. After summarizing the well known results derived from the elastic analysis, the problem is approached in the visco-elastic domain taking into account the effects consequent to the complex load history affecting the structure. In particular, the effects produced by prestressing applied both in the launching phase and after it and by application of imposed displacements and of delayed restraints during the launching phases are carefully investigated through a refined analytical procedure. The reliability of the proposed algorithm is tested by means of comparisons with reference cases for which exact solutions are known. A case study of general interest is then discussed in detail. This case study demonstrates that a purely elastic approach represents a too crude approximation, which is unable to describe the specific character of the problem.
