Abstract There is wide agreement that one of the most important impediments to the performance of current and future pipelined superscalar processors is the presence of conditional branches in the instruction stream. Accurate branch prediction is required to overcome this performance limitation. Many branch predictors have been proposed to help to alleviate this problem, including the two-level adaptive branch predictor, and more recently, hybrid branch predictor. In a less idealized environment, such as a time-sharing system, code of interest involves context switches. Context switches, even at fairly large intervals, can seriously degrade the performance of many of the most accurate branch prediction schemes. In this study, we measure the effect of context switch on the branch prediction accuracy in various situation and show the feasibility of our new mechanism, OPTS(Overlapped Predictor Table Switch), which save and restore branch history table at every context switch.
PM (particulate matter) is of interest to everyone because it can have adverse effects on human health by the infiltration from respiratory to internal organs. To date, many studies have made efforts for the prediction of PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations. Unlike previous studies, we conducted the prediction of tomorrow's PM10 concentration for the Air Korea stations using Chinese PM10 data in addition to the satellite AOD and weather variables. We constructed 230,639 matchups from the raw data over 3 million and built an RF (random forest) model from the matchups to cope with the complexity and nonlinearity. The validation statistics from the blind test showed excellent accuracy with the RMSE (root mean square error) of 9.905 ㎍/㎥ and the CC (correlation coefficient) of 0.918. Moreover, our prediction model showed a stable performance without the dependency on seasons or the degree of PM10 concentration. However, part of coastal areas had a relatively low accuracy, which implies that a dedicated model for coastal areas will be necessary. Additional input variables such as wind direction, precipitation, and air stability should also be incorporated into the prediction model as future work.
Since the landslide hazard areas prediction was analyzed by slope-angle and soil properties, regional characteristics is not taken. Therefore, in order to make more rational prediction, it is necessary to consider the characteristics of the region. Tree roots have been known to increase soil cohesion in landslide hazard areas and to vary the degrees depending on the tree type. In addition, a reasonable prediction of landslide hazard areas can be made by considering crown density based on crown distribution patterns of the area of interest. In this study, using the roots cohesion considering the crown density of the trees, which is in the landslides risk areas around Mt. Gwehwa in Sejong City, the landslides risk areas were predicted and compared with predicted results obtained by not considering root cohesion.
In this study, we analyze and forecast quantum computer technology trends. Previous research has been mainly focused on application fields centered on technology for quantum computer technology trends analysis. Therefore, this paper analyzes important quantum computer technologies and performs future signal detection and prediction, for a more market driven technical analysis and prediction. As analyzing words used in news articles to identify rapidly changing market changes and public interest. This paper extends conference presentation of Cha & Chang (2022). The research is conducted by collecting domestic news articles from 2019 to 2021. First, we organize the main keywords through text mining. Next, we explore future quantum computer technologies through analysis of Term Frequency - Inverse Document Frequency(TF-IDF), Key Issue Map(KIM), and Key Emergence Map (KEM). Finally, the relationship between future technologies and supply and demand is identified through random forests, decision trees, and correlation analysis. As results of the study, the interest in artificial intelligence was the highest in frequency analysis, keyword diffusion and visibility analysis. In terms of cyber-security, the rate of mention in news articles is getting overwhelmingly higher than that of other technologies. Quantum communication, resistant cryptography, and augmented reality also showed a high rate of increase in interest. These results show that the expectation is high for applying trend technology in the market. The results of this study can be applied to identifying areas of interest in the quantum computer market and establishing a response system related to technology investment.
This study attempted to identify the effects of macroeconomic variables such as the All Industry Production Index, Consumer Price Index, CD Interest Rate, and KOSPI on apartment lease prices divided into nationwide, Seoul, metropolitan, and region, and to present a methodological prediction model of apartment lease prices by region using Long Short Term Memory (LSTM). According to VAR analysis results, the nationwide apartment lease price index and consumer price index in Lag1 and 2 had a significant effect on the nationwide apartment lease price, and likewise, the Seoul apartment lease price index, the consumer price index, and the CD interest rate in Lag1 and 2 affect the apartment lease price in Seoul. In addition, it was confirmed that the wide-area apartment jeonse price index and the consumer price index had a significant effect on Lag1, and the local apartment jeonse price index and the consumer price index had a significant effect on Lag1. As a result of the establishment of the LSTM prediction model, the predictive power was the highest with RMSE 0.008, MAE 0.006, and R-Suared values of 0.999 for the local apartment lease price prediction model. In the future, it is expected that more meaningful results can be obtained by applying an advanced model based on deep learning, including major policy variables

This study aims to develop a distress prediction model, in order to evaluate the distress prediction power for first-class hotels and to calculate the average financial ratio in the Seoul area by using the financial ratios of hotels in 2015. The sample data was collected from 19 first-class hotels in Seoul and the financial ratios extracted from 14 of these 19 hotels. The results show firstly that the seven financial ratios, viz. the current ratio, total borrowings and bonds payable to total assets, interest coverage ratio to operating income, operating income to sales, net income to stockholders' equity, ratio of cash flows from operating activities to sales and total assets turnover, enable the top-level corporations to be discriminated from the failed corporations and, secondly, by using these seven financial ratios, a discriminant function which classifies the corporations into top-level and failed ones is estimated by linear multiple discriminant analysis. The accuracy of prediction of this discriminant capability turned out to be 87.9%. The accuracy of the estimates obtained by discriminant analysis indicates that the distress prediction model's distress prediction power is 78.95%. According to the analysis results, hotel management groups which administrate low level corporations need to focus on the classification of these seven financial ratios. Furthermore, hotel corporations have very different financial structures and failure prediction indicators from other industries. In accordance with this finding, for the development of credit evaluation systems for such hotel corporations, there is a need for systems to be developed that reflect hotel corporations' financial features.
This study analyzes the Soju(Korean alcohol) advertisement image, which is relatively easy to interpret subjectively, among sexual appeal advertisements that stimulate consumers' curiosity, where the image is verified through AOI (area of interest) 3 areas (face, body, product), and eye-tracking, one of the psychophysiological indicators. The result of the analysis reveals that visual attention, the interest in the advertising model, was higher in the face than in the body shape. Contrary to the prediction that men would be more interested in body shape than women, both men and women showed higher interest in the face than a body. Besides, it was derived that recognition and recollection of the product were not significant. This study is significant in terms of examining the pattern of visual attention such as the gaze point and gaze time of male and female consumers on sexual appeal advertisements. In further, the study looks forward to bringing a positive influence to the soju advertisement image by presenting the expression method that the soju advertisement image should pursue as well as the appropriate marketing direction.
Geostatistical data or point-referenced data have the information on the monitoring stations of interest where the observations are measured. Practical geostatistical data are obtained from a wide variety of observational monitoring networks that are mainly operated by the Korean government. When we analyze geostatistical data and predict the expectations at unobservable locations, we can improve the reliability of the prediction by utilizing some relevant spatial data obtained from different observational monitoring networks and blend them with the measurements of our main interest. In this paper, we consider the hierarchical spatial linear model that enables us to link spatial variables from different resources but with similar patterns and guarantee the precision of the prediction. We compare the proposed model to a classical linear regression model and simple kriging in terms of some information criteria and one-leave-out cross-validation. Real application deals with Sulfur Dioxide($SO_2$) measurements from the urban air pollution monitoring network and wind speed data from the surface observation network.
Purpose: This study builds a database by collecting and refining disaster occurrence data and real-time weather and atmospheric data. In conjunction with the public data provided by the API, we propose a service model for the Big Data-based Urban Safety Index. Method: The plan is to provide a way to collect various information related to disaster occurrence by utilizing public data and SNS, and to identify and cope with disaster situations in areas of interest by real-time dashboards. Result: Compared with the prediction model by extracting the characteristics of the local safety index and weather and air relationship by area, the regional safety index in the area of traffic accidents confirmed that there is a significant correlation with weather and atmospheric data. Conclusion: It proposed a system that generates a prediction model for safety index based on machine learning algorithm and displays safety index by sector on a map in areas of interest to users.
Recently, in the field of water resource engineering, interest in predicting time series water levels and flow rates using deep learning technology that has rapidly developed along with the Fourth Industrial Revolution is increasing. In addition, although water-level and flow-rate prediction have been performed using the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) model that can predict time-series data, the accuracy of flow-rate prediction in rivers with rapid temporal fluctuations was predicted to be very low compared to that of water-level prediction. In this study, the Paldang Bridge Station of the Han River, which has a large flow-rate fluctuation and little influence from tidal waves in the estuary, was selected. In addition, time-series data with large flow fluctuations were selected to collect water-level and flow-rate data for 2 years and 7 months, which are relatively short in data length, to be used as training and prediction data for the LSTM and GRU models. When learning time-series water levels with very high time fluctuation in two models, the predicted water-level results in both models secured appropriate accuracy compared to observation water levels, but when training rapidly temporal fluctuation flow rates directly in two models, the predicted flow rates deteriorated significantly. Therefore, in this study, in order to accurately predict the rapidly changing flow rate, the water-level data predicted by the two models could be used as input data for the rating curve to significantly improve the prediction accuracy of the flow rates. Finally, the results of this study are expected to be sufficiently used as the data of flood warning system in urban rivers where the observation length of hydrological data is not relatively long and the flow-rate changes rapidly.
