  • As technology rapidly develops, the demand for manpower by new industries is increasing. In order to respond to the changing demands of the workforce, universities are actively introducing interdisciplinary majors, which is a program formed by two or more departments cooperating to develop new majors. Although the importance of the interdisciplinary major is increasing, universities have difficulties managing them due to non-flexible educational systems. The purpose of this study is to present an effective management direction for interdisciplinary majors based on the results of a survey on student satisfaction with interdisciplinary majors. Also, we analyzed the required level and possessed level of the IS practitioners' competencies, and developed specific educational directions for training IS talents. The results showed that there was a significant difference in satisfaction with the curriculum development and curriculum evaluation of existing subjects provided by existing departments and new subjects established of interdisciplinary majors, specifically the satisfaction of new subjects is higher than existing subjects. In the IS field, there was a high demand for education in the following areas, in order: information security, information technology strategy planning, information technology operation, information technology development, information technology management, information technology sales, and core competencies. Based on the results of the analysis, the satisfaction of students and the cultivation of the talents that the interdisciplinary major aims to develop can be improved.

  • As the boundaries between disciplines have been weakened and interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary subjects have increased, there is a limitation to express subjects with DDC. This study evaluates DDC instructions using interdisciplinary numbers and classifying more than one discipline through Delphi research. As a result, it is found that there is a need for defining separately 'interdisciplinary subjects' and 'multidisciplinary subjects', based on the level of integration among disciplines, and improving the instruction to maintain the consistency in assigning and filing classification numbers. It is also discussed that to enhance the symbols' power of expression, an analytic/synthetic method could be adopted.

  • The purpose of this study is two-fold. One is to provide the teachers of Home Economics with the basic reference data of the relevance between Home Economics and other subjects taught in the middle schools for the purpose of bringing out more efficient classroom teaching. The other is to help the teachers, the textbook writers, and the curriculum reformers improve the curricula of the middle school on the basis of this research. The conclusions drawn from this study are as follows: 1) The units of Human Development and Family Relationship should be taught with reference to Korean Language, Ethics, and Music. 2) The unit of Adolescence Development is dealt with in Physical Education and in Ethics as well, which seems to indicate that there was no interdisciplinary consideration and cooperation before/when the curricula were made. 3) The unit of Nutrition which appears in the first grade in Home Economics has a close relationship with the unit of Morphology and Physiology of Animals which appears in the second grade in Natural Science. It is thought that the interdisciplinary themes ought to be organized cooperatively among subjects for efficiency of study. 4) Since the unit of Clothing is not dealt with in the other subjects, ti can be developed in Home Economics on its own. 5) As the unit of Housing is closely related to Technology, it should be taught on the basis of Technology. 6) The textbooks of all subjects should be written based on the interdisciplinary research and cooperation. They should be organized in order not to overlap or repeat the same topic in the same level if it is not necessary.

  • The bioelectrical impedance (BI) for the young and the elderly was measured using bioelectrical impedance spectroscopy (BIS). First, while applying a current of $600{\mu}A$ to the foot and hand, BI was measured at 50 frequencies ranging from 5 to 1000 kHz. The BI for young subjects was considerably lower than that for old subjects since young subjects have more lean mass (hydration). The prediction marker was 0.74 for young subjects and 0.78 for old subjects. Second, a Cole-Cole diagram was obtained for young subjects and old subjects, indicating the different characteristic frequencies. At 50 kHz, the average phase angle was $7.8^{\circ}$ for young subjects whereas that was $6.1^{\circ}$ for old subjects. Third, BIVA was analyzed for young subjects and old subjects. The vector length was 210.89 [${\Omega}/m$] for young subjects and 326.12 [${\Omega}/m$] for old subjects. At 50 kHz, the resistance (R/H) and the reactance ($X_C/H$) divided by height were 208.94 [${\Omega}/m$] and 28.68 [${\Omega}/m$] for young subject, and 324.33 [${\Omega}/m$] and 34.09 [${\Omega}/m$] for old subjects.

  • Purpose: The study was to analyze clinical outcomes and risk factors of for complications associated with the hip fracture surgery in the elderly before and after interdisciplinary treatment. Methods: A retrospective method was used to investigate the general and therapeutic characteristics, frequency of complications and clinical outcomes. The subjects of the study were 553 patients who underwent hip fracture surgery from January, 2009 to December, 2014. Results: The interdisciplinary group was older and less likely to walk independently even before the fracture than a usual care group. The incidence of complications was higher in the interdisciplinary group than the usual care group. The prevalence of complications in both groups was 66.5%. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showsed that the risk factors for complications of hip fracture surgery were as follows: advanced age, stroke, Parkinson disease, time interval from emergency room to operation, pre & post ambulatory status, American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classification quality of postop intensive care unit (ICU) care and foley indwelling. Conclusion: This study has implications in that it recognized the necessity for interdisciplinary treatment and provided the basic base data for nursing intervention of the elderly patients who underwent hip fracture surgery.

  • Due to the development of internet technology, the online business trade becomes an active area. Online negotiation supporting systems have been developing very actively in recent years to meet the growing needs. We have been studying on the effect that the haptic device brings about in interaction through online negotiation between two parties. In order to meet the online negotiation's requirements, the developed interface should be able to protect user's anonymity, convey user's emotion and make the scene alive. In this study, we adopt haptic interaction as a means of conveying emotion in an online negotiation between Japanese and Chinese people. In this study, our goal is to investigate the effectiveness of haptic interaction in communications between Chinese and Japanese users and analyze the characteristis in operation the haptic device. We conducted online negotiation experiments with and without haptic interaction . The comparison experiments results show that the haptic feedback can help to convey the emotion and the sense of presence. The Chinese subjects' feedback for the questionaire concerning the emotional communication and the sense of presence varies slightly compared to the Japanese subjects. We also found when using the haptic device, the force feedback can influence subject's feelings. There is little significant difference between the advanced and the medium subjects in negotiation dialogues and the haptic device's operation, the beginner subjects are slightly at a disadvantage.

  • Text is the most widely used means of exchanging or expressing knowledge and information in the real world. Recently, researches on structuring unstructured text data for text analysis have been actively performed. One of the most representative document embedding method (i.e. doc2Vec) generates a single vector for each document using the whole corpus included in the document. This causes a limitation that the document vector is affected by not only core words but also other miscellaneous words. Additionally, the traditional document embedding algorithms map each document into only one vector. Therefore, it is not easy to represent a complex document with interdisciplinary subjects into a single vector properly by the traditional approach. In this paper, we introduce a multi-vector document embedding method to overcome these limitations of the traditional document embedding methods. After introducing the previous study on multi-vector document embedding, we visually analyze the effects of the multi-vector document embedding method. Firstly, the new method vectorizes the document using only predefined keywords instead of the entire words. Secondly, the new method decomposes various subjects included in the document and generates multiple vectors for each document. The experiments for about three thousands of academic papers revealed that the single vector-based traditional approach cannot properly map complex documents because of interference among subjects in each vector. With the multi-vector based method, we ascertained that the information and knowledge in complex documents can be represented more accurately by eliminating the interference among subjects.

  • The present study was performed to investigate change in shimmer according to $F_{0}$ variation precisely, and to offer suggestions for a clinical application. The analysis for the present study was done by the fundamental frequency ($F_{0}$) and shimmer measurement results of the previous 120 Korean normal adults' voice study of Pyo et al. (2002), used three vowels, /i/, /a/, /and /u/. Through the analysis of 60 female samples from the previous study, we found that $F_{0}$ of the vowels was the highest in /u/, and the lowest in /a/, but, on the contrary, shimmer was highest in /a/and lowest in /u/. Thirty of 60 subjects showed such an inverse relationship between $F_{0}$ and shimmer, as a whole. In the vowel /a/, 47 of 60 subjects showed the increased $F_{0}$ and decreased shimmer, in /i/, 32 subjects, and in /u/, 33 subjects showed the same results. The decrease in shimmer means the improvement of voice quality, so by these results, we expect to answer the question why the patients with spasmodic dysphonia can improve their voice quality with increased pitched voice production.
