A Study of Research Publication Ethics for Social Science Researcher

  • Purpose: This research article aim is to critically examine the ethical principles that govern research publication in social sciences and to identify and analyze the everyday ethical challenges social science researchers face during the publication process. Also, the research explores the factors contributing to ethical violations in social science research publication. Research design, data, and methodology: The present research has conducted comprehensive literature analysis and the authors of this research has figured out total 24 significant prior studies in the current literature dataset for the literature review and finding section. The procedure of data obtaining included the elimination process to screen dissertation papers, conference papers, and internet sources. Results: Previous The sociologies, given their emphasis on the human way of behaving and interactions, demand heightened ethical considerations due to the potential impact of research findings on individuals and society. Therefore, understanding and upholding ethical standards are essential for researchers at all career stages. Conclusions: In order to retain the integrity, legitimacy, and societal influence of research findings, ethical issues are crucial and the necessity for flexible and comprehensive ethical frameworks is highlighted by the rapid evolution of research methodology, digital platforms, and interdisciplinary collaborations, adding new dimensions of ethical complexity.

Reliability of the scapular dyskinesis test yes-no classification in asymptomatic individuals between students and expert physical therapists

  • Background: Scapular dyskinesis is considered a risk factor for the shoulder pain that may warrant screening for prevention. Clinicians of all experience screen scapular dyskinesis using the scapular dyskinesis test yes-no classification (Y-N), yet its reliability in asymptomatic individuals is unknown. We aimed to establish Y-N's intra- and inter-reliability between students and expert physical therapists. Methods: We utilized a cross-sectional design using consecutive asymptomatic subjects. Six students and two experts rated 100 subjects using the Y-N. Cohen's kappa (κ) and Krippendorff's alpha (K-α) were calculated to determine intra- and inter-rater reliability. Results: Intra- and inter-rater values for experts were κ=0.92 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.91-0.93) and 0.85 (95% CI, 0.84-0.87) respectively; students were κ=0.77 (95% CI, 0.75-0.78) and K-α=0.63 (95% CI, 0.58-0.67). Conclusions: The Y-N is reliable in detecting scapular dyskinesis in asymptomatic individuals regardless of experience.

  • Neutron is an indirectly ionizing particle without charge, which is normally measured by detecting reaction products. Neutron detection system based on measuring gadolinium-converted gamma-rays is a good way to monitor the neutron because the representative prompt gamma-rays of gadolinium have low energies (79, 89, 182, and 199 keV). Low energy gamma-rays and their high attenuation coefficient on materials allow the simple design of a detector easier to manufacture. Thus, we designed a cadmium zinc telluride detector to investigate feasibility of simultaneous detection of gamma-rays and neutrons by using the Monte-Carlo simulation, which was divided into two parts; first was gamma-detection part and second was gamma- and neutron-simultaneous detection part. Consequently, we confirmed that simultaneous detection of gamma-rays and neutrons could be feasible and valid, although further research is needed for adoption on real detection.

  • Purpose: Adequate public input and participation in environmental health research must be provided to ensure accurate results from studies involving human exposure to potentially hazardous substances. By addressing these ethical issues associated with environmental health research, this study can help reduce risks for individuals participating in studies and whole communities affected by their impactful findings. Research design, data and methodology: The current research should have followed the rule of qualitative textual research, searching and exploring the adequate prior resources such as books and peer-reviewed journal articles so that the current author could screen proper previous works which are acceptable for the content analysis. Results: The current research has figured out four ethical issues to improve environmental health study as follows: (1) Lack of Guidance for Collecting and Utilizing Data Ethically, (2) Insufficient Consideration Is Given to Vulnerable Populations When Conducting Studies, (3) Unclear Standards Exist for Protecting the Privacy Of Participant's Personal Information, and (4) Conducting Socially and Religiously Acceptable Research in Various Communities. Conclusions: This research concludes that future researchers should consider implementing anonymization techniques where possible so that findings are still accessible, but the risk posed by disclosing identifying information remains minimized during the analysis/publication stages.

  • This study investigates the impact of educational management on the performance of scholars in the field of nano/micro-level composites. The objective is to understand how effective management strategies can enhance the academic achievements and research outcomes of students specializing in this advanced area of materials science. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, data was collected from various educational institutions renowned for their programs in nano/micro-level composites. Our results indicate that tailored educational management practices significantly improve student performance. Key strategies identified include personalized mentorship programs, interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities, and access to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. Institutions that implemented these practices observed a marked increase in the quality and quantity of research outputs, higher student satisfaction rates, and improved post-graduation employment prospects in relevant industries. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of continuous professional development for educators to stay abreast of the latest advancements in nano/micro-level composites. By fostering an environment of innovation and support, educational management can play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of researchers and professionals in this cutting-edge field.   • This study purpose is comparative analysis of environmental design checklist based on physical characteristics of the elders between Korea and Japan exhibition facilities. We were selected to represent the exhibition facilities in Korea and Japan and conducted field survey and understand the application status. The scope of the exhibition facilities space is entry, exhibition, public-service, educational activity and movement. And the elders physical characteristics are divided into 'sense(eye-sight, hearing, and feeling by touch)' / 'exercise (skeleton, movement, physical strength and muscular strength)'. Based on the checklist, we gave the score depending installation, part installation and uninstallation and then analyzed the average. The Results were as follows. First, Korea and Japan exhibition facilities are appear to similar and both above the average level. It is show that environment design reflects the physical characteristics of the elders. Second, exhibition space and educational activity space has lower score than other space, indicated most items are consist of the recommended. Most items appears as part of the preparation for this installed or uninstalled. Third, It showed that the installation is incomplete entries corresponding to the physical characteristics of the sensory area of the elderly (hearing). Therefore, there need to install additional information facilities such as voice, emergency call bell. Forth, the exhibition facilities appears differently depending on time of erecting and remodeling.

  • High-tech sensibility textile and fashion, in which consumers' emotions and various textile and fashion technologies are converged, is an important industrial group. It is important to develop the ability to apply in practice by gathering the creative by understanding other fields and exchanging ideas through interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of emotional engineering. Through interdisciplinary research and collaboration, talent must be nurtured of individuals who would lead the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution with the ability to empathize with others as well as the creative convergence-type intellectual ability necessary for the rapidly changing society. To determine content-creation methods, basic research is conducted. Additionally, this study investigates on the current status and educational process of the emotional textile-fashion industry worldwide. To nurture talents in the textile and fashion sensibility science, the basic contents are created to manage the knowledge that delivers sensibility science and the ICT related to this field, as well as in the intensive, PB-style conceptual design based on sensibility. The process from derivation of consumer emotion analysis and product development can be experienced through smart kit practice. Moreover, various methods are developed to set up intellectual property rights generated while developing ICT convergence products as start-ups. The study also covers new knowledge rights to develop emotional textile fashion.

The effect of man's gender identity, brand gender and salesperson sex on fashion brand attitude (남성의 젠더(Gender) 정체성, 브랜드 젠더, 판매원의 성이 패션 브랜드 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • This research used an experimental design in an effort to assess the influence of brand gender and salespeople on the attitudes toward brands according to the males' gender identity traits. The study used a three-way split-plot experimental design, and data were analyzed by t-tests, and ANOVA. The subject of this research was men in their 20s and 30s, and a total of 178 people were selected through convenience- sampling. The findings are as follows: first, masculine male consumers preferred masculinity fashion brands; however, androgynous consumers preferred brands that reflect androgyny. Second, there were no differences in brand attitude according to the gender of the salesperson for the masculinity group, but the androgynous group estimated the brands as better when the salesperson was female. Third, there were no differences in the brand attitudes among consumers according to gender of the salesperson for the Galaxy; however, for Solid Homme, brand preference was stronger when the salesperson was a woman. Fourth, the influence of brand gender and salesperson gender on brand attitudes differed according to the gender of the consumer. Therefore, apparel companies must clearly understand the characteristics of consumer gender identity and execute proper marketing strategies in order to induce stronger positive attitudes toward their brands. Moreover, apparel companies should perceive that brand gender and the gender of the salesperson can consequently encourage brand preferences.

The Influence of Service Recovery Fairness on Customers' Satisfaction and Intention to Repurchase: Focused on Purchasing Fashion Product at the Open Market and General Internet Shopping Mall (인터넷 쇼핑몰에서 서비스 회복 공정성이 고객의 만족과 재구매 의도에 미치는 영향: 오픈마켓과 종합 인터넷쇼핑몰을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to classify the service recovery fairness of internet fashion shopping mall depending on the type of shopping mall into 3 levels, and analyze their influence on customers' satisfaction and intention to repurchase. Data were collected from 271 customers who had made a complaint or raised a question about service among the customers, and was analyzed through AMOS 7.0. For hypothesis testing, a research model was set up in the form of structure equation model, and its suitability was investigated. The results of this research can be summarized as follows: First, in relation to the service recovery fairness at internet shopping mall, only the consequential fairness has a meaningful relationship with customer satisfaction. Second, it has been shown that the higher the customers' satisfaction with internet shopping mall, the more positive influence it has on intention to repurchase. Third, it has been shown that the influence of service recovery fairness on customers' satisfaction and intention to repurchase has a meaningful difference depending on the type of internet shopping mall. In other words, it has been shown that customer satisfaction is higher at open market than general internet shopping mall. In addition, it has been shown that in open market, only the consequential fairness has a meaningful influence, therefore it will be more effective to strengthen a strategy focused on economical rewards than other fields.
