Fertilization is the beginning of a new life that occurs in the female uterine. The female reproductive tract is composed ovary, oviduct, uterine, vagina and cervix, their physiological features are regulated by estrous cycle. Of these, uterine is a main point to establish embryo development and implantation, and intercommunication between embryo and uterine environment is necessary for suitable pregnancy. Endometrium is part of the uterine, its morphology is repetitively changed by hormones, and characteristic of uterine fluid from endometrium is also changed. Recently, massive proteins of endometrium and uterine fluid can be detected according to develop proteomics and bioinformatics and have been accelerated the understanding of the reproductive biology fields. Moreover, the massive protein information is actively studying with deeply studied theory such as sex hormone signal pathway and angiogenesis in mammals. In this paper, we review understanding of endometrium remodeling, uterine gland and fluid during estrous cycle, additionally studies on endometrium and uterine fluid based on proteomics techniques. Lastly, we introduced methods of the protein-protein correlation using bioinformatics tool that interaction with hormone receptors, representative angiogenetic factors and detected proteins using proteomics in endometrium and uterine fluid. This review will be useful to understanding the study on search of new cell mechanism in endometrium and uterine fluid.

The purpose of this study is to show that epistemic considerations can be used meaningfully in the argumentation of elementary students, and to provide data on students' epistemic considerations that will be the basis for designing and evaluating scientific argumentation. The epistemic considerations in students' small group argumentations were explored based on Epistemic Considerations in Students' Epistemologies in Practice: EIP' suggested by Berland et al. (2016). The major results of this study are as follows: First, epistemic considerations in elementary school students' small group argumentation appeared in all four aspects: Nature, generality, justification and audience. The epistemic considerations varied according to context in each discussion situation. Second, epistemic considerations did not exist independently. They influenced each other and helped to reveal new types of considerations. The results of this study confirmed that argumentation can be used in elementary school science class. Understanding how students are involved in argumentation and how these epistemic considerations can affect students' argumentation can be helpful to teachers who design and evaluate small group argumentation. Students' achievement level affected epistemic considerations but learning approach types did not affect on. In addition, epistemic considerations may have a positive or negative effect on each other depending on the discussion situation in the process of interaction. So consideration of normative argumentation rules and teaching strategies should be considered in order for epistemic considerations to positively affect each other.
Objective: The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of night light regimen on growth performance, antioxidant status and health of Lingnan Yellow broiler chickens from 1 to 21 days of age. Methods: A completely randomized factorial design involved 2 photoperiods (constant lighting [CL], 24 L:0 D and intermittent lighting [INL], 17 L:3 D:1 L:3 D)${\times}2$ light intensities (10 lx and 30 lx). A total of one thousand six hundred and eighty 1-d-old Lingnan Yellow broiler chicks were randomly divided into 4 treatments with 6 replicates (70 birds per replicate). The experiment lasted for 21 d. Results: Photoperiods and light intensities had no effect on average daily gain, feed conversion ratio, and mortality of the broiler chickens (p>0.05). The INL had a significant effect on average daily feed intake (p<0.05) of broiler chickens compared with CL. Photoperiod and light intensity had an interactive effect on melatonin (MT) concentration (p<0.05). At CL, reducing light intensity increased MT concentration; INL birds had higher MT but MT concentration was not affected by light intensity. There was an interactive effect on glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and catalase (CAT) in serum and total antioxidant capability (T-AOC) in liver between photoperiod and light intensity. With the decrease of light intensity, the activities of GPx and CAT in serum and T-AOC in liver increased in CL group (p<0.05). Broiler chickens reared under INL had better antioxidant status and 10 lx treatments had higher activities of CAT in serum than 30 lx (p<0.05). Different photoperiods and light intensities had no effect on malondialdehyde. There was an interaction between photoperiod and light intensity on serum creatine kinase (CK) concentration (p<0.05). At CL, the elevated light intensity resulted in an increase in CK content; INL birds had lower CK concentration especially in low light intensity group. Besides, INL and low light intensity significantly reduced the concentration of serum corticosterone and heat shock protein 70 (p<0.05). Serum immunoglobulin M contents were increased in broiler chickens reared under the INL compared with CL group (p<0.05). Conclusion: Results above suggest that the night light regimen of INL and 10 lx could be beneficial to the broiler chickens from 1 to 21 days of age due to the better health status and electricity savings.

The behavior of wave-induced pore water pressure inside the rubble mound and seabed, and the resultant structure failure are investigated, which are used in design of the composite breakwater representing the coastal and harbor structures. Numerical simulation techniques have been widely used to assess these behaviors through linear and nonlinear methods in many researches. While the combination of strongly nonlinear analytical method and turbulence model have not been applied yet, which can simulate these characteristics more accurately. In this study, olaFlow model considering the wave-breaking and turbulent phenomena is applied through VOF and LES methods, which gives more exact solution by using the multiphase flow analytical method. The verification of olaFlow model is demonstrated by comparing the experimental and numerical results for the interactions of regular waves-seabed and regular waves-composite breakwater-seabed. The characteristics of the spatial distributions of horizontal wave pressure, excess-pore-water pressure, mean flow velocity and mean vorticity on the upright caisson, and inside the rubble mound and seabed are discussed, as well as the relation between the mean distribution of vorticity size and mean turbulent kinetic energy. And the stability of composite breakwater are also discussed.

This study derives the characteristics of the private external space planning in multi-family housing through the analysis of the good case built after 2000 in Europe. First, the cases were categorized into block or block perimeter, linear and point type to examine the relationship between the type of building in urban context and the location of private external space. By block or block perimeter and linear type, private external spaces are planned in the inner courtyards or open space between buildings used as common space for residents, inducing communications between neighbors. And the direction of private external space depends on the arrangement of the building mass in urban context. In the classification as point type, there are many cases, where private external spaces are arranged in all directions, connected almost all interior spaces. Second, based on the above results, the planned characteristics of the private external space are derived by dividing it into three categories: intermediated space between inside and outside, intermediate space between private and public /individual and collective space and the identity of the intermediate space. (1) In most cases, direction, size of enclosed area and location of private extern space is designed to fit the surrounding context, so residents can perceive as much of the assets of the surrounding environment as possible, and it can be used as an extended area of living space. In another cases, it is divided into various sub-areas to experience the spatial transition from inside to outside or vice versa. 2) The private external space, which is placed in a courtyard or in a collective open space, is partially enclosed and blocked, allowing interaction with the neighbors without pressure. Along the street, they are designed to allow residents to experience the vitality of the city and to be formative element of the facade, which could confidently reveal the lifestyle and taste of residents. 3) By some of point types, which facade is three-demensional layer as a habitable external space, the private external space is very flexible for use. This intermediate space is composed of diverse spaces for various needs, or it has generous size with positional conditions connected with all interior spaces to be used multi-functional.
This study analyzed how K-MOOC was used and identify the academic achievements in higher education. The participants who completed the survey questionnaire were composed of 379 students who were in curriculum-related extra-curriculum using K-MOOC. Results show that the participation rate in individual learning activities was high, thus indicating the activities were perceived positively. In addition, students perceived positively their academic achievements of receiving, valuing, and responding in affective area, as well as synthesis and evaluation of knowledge in cognitive area. Students were also satisfied that they had no psychological burden to the credit of the course and they could take a course from another college. By contrast, platform instability, too much online content, and tedious activities in the lessons were perceived negatively. Nonetheless, the group assessment results suggested that the students taking a course related to their major had further engagement in discussions, and their academic achievement was higher. Based on the foregoing findings, the study proposed developing a subject matter with various theme, utilization plans, interaction reinforcement, and quality management by supporting instructional design strategies in order to expand the use of K-MOOC both as a general education and a major curriculum. The results obtained in this study represent baseline data that may assist in the decision making for university system and operation plan.

In the case of an earthquake, the fluid storage structure generates hydraulic pressure due to the fluctuation of the fluid. At this time, the hydraulic pressure of the fluid changes not only the peaked acceleration of the earthquake but also the sloshing height of the fluid free water surface. Factors influencing this change in load include the shape of the seismic wave, the maximum seismic strength, the size of the fluid storage structure, the width of the structure, and the height of the fluid. In this study, the effect of the ratio between the height of the fluid and the width of the structure was investigated on the fluctuation characteristics of the fluid. 200mm and 140mm of fluid were placed in a water storage tank with a width of 500mm, and a real seismic wave was applied to measure the shape of the fluctuation of the fluid free water surface. The similarity between the experiment and the analysis was verified through the S.P.H(Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamic) technique, one of the numerical analysis techniques. It was confirmed that the free water surface of the fluid showed a similar shape, through comparison of experiment and analysis. And based on this results, SPH technique was applied to analyze the fluctuation shape of the fluid free water surface while varying the ratio between the fluid height and the structure width. An equation to predict the maximum and minimum heights of the fluid free water surface during an earthquake was proposed, and it was confirmed that the error between the maximum and minimum heights of the fluid free water surface predicted by the proposed equation was within a maximum of 3%.
The ground-structure interaction of the bridge foundation has been pointed out as a major factor influencing the behavior of the bridge during earthquakes. In this study, the effect of characteristics of ground and bridge foundation on the earthquake vulnerability is investigated. From the pseudo-static analysis, it is confirmed that non-linearity becomes lesser and horizontal load becomes greater when surcharge is considered. It is also found that as the ground worsens and the size of foundation decreases, horizontal load reduces. To derive reasonable structural model for bridge foundation, fragility curve is obtained considering four conditions (fixed condition, equivalent linear condition, non-linear without surchage condition, non-linear with surcharge condition) and compared. Seismic analysis is performed on single pier with Opensees. From the earthquake vulnerability analysis, it is found that shallow foundation can be assumed as fixed condition. In conservative approach, stiffness of spring can be obtained based on Korean highway bridge design code for pile foundation which can consider the ground condition.

A variety of simulation approaches based on automated driving technologies have been proposed to develop traffic operations strategies to prevent traffic crashes and alleviate congestion. The maneuver of simulated autonomous vehicles (AVs) needs to be realistic and be effectively differentiated from the behavior of manually driven vehicles (MVs). However, the verification of simulated AV maneuvers is limited due to the difficulty in collecting actual AVs trajectory and interaction data with MVs. The purpose of this study is to develop a methodology to evaluate the suitability of AV maneuvers based on both driving and traffic simulation experiments. The proposed evaluation framework includes the requirements for the behavior of individual AVs and the traffic stream performance resulting from the interactions with surrounding vehicles. A driving simulation approach is adopted to evaluate the feasibility of maneuvering of individual AVs. Meanwhile, traffic simulations are used to evaluate whether the impact of AVs on the performance of traffic stream is reasonable. The outcome of this study is expected to be used as a fundamental for the design and evaluation of transportation systems using automated driving technologies.

To take into account of the increasing speed of next generation high-speed trains, a new design code for the traffic safety of railway bridges is required. To solve dynamic responses of the bridge, this research offers a numerical analyses of PSC (Pre-stressed Concrete) box girder bridge, which is most representative of all the bridges on Gyungbu high-speed train line. This model takes into account of the inertial mass forces by the 38-degree-of-freedom and interaction forces as well as track irregularities. Our numerical analyses analyze the maximum vertical deflection and DAF (Dynamic Amplification Factor) between simple span and two-span continuous bridges to show the dynamic stability of the bridge. The third-order polynomial regression equations we use predict the maximum vertical deflections depending on varying running speeds of the train. We also compare the vertical deflections at several cross-sectional positions to check the influence of running speeds and the maximum irregularity at a longitudinal level. Moreover, our model analyzes the influence lines of vertical deflection accelerations of the bridge to evaluate traffic safety.
