On the Design of a New Briadband Personalized Multimedia Network for Future Requirements (미래의 환경에 맞는 새로운 개인 휴대 통신 서비스를 위한 광대역 멀티미디어 통신망의 설계)

  • In this paper, we propose a new network architecture for the future broadband personalized multimedia network. We first consider the service and technical requirements for supporting future advanced services such as personalized and intelligent communication services. In addition, we consider the design and implementation of the future network. Considering these requirements. we propose a new network architecture and its control scheme that can efficiently support the future personalized and intelligent services as well as broadband multimedia services. The network provides only a relatively simple core set of functions such as basic end-to-end connectivity, integrated access, and primitive network intelligence of user location. More intelligent features (e.g., personalized calling, virtual private networking and so on) can be offered through the additional network facilities or computing devices through an intelligent network.

  • Payment system is defined as the various contracts and operating facilities for the transfer of monetary value to clear the relationship between credit and debt. Payment systems essentially require the efficient and reliable operations. Card-based payment systems are developed practically and creatively in accordance with the progress of ICT. Especially in mobile environment with intelligent mobile devices such as smart-phones and tablets, a variety of payment services are provided. Existing card-based payment services are configured by the payment transaction initiated by the merchants card acceptance and then swiping into the CAT (Card Authorization Terminal) to begin the transaction. The merchant initiated payment services are now applied to the Wireless CAT (W-CAT) for mobile environment. That kind of payment services cause many problems such the illegal card information leaks and the lingering threat of W-CAT theft. Also, the use of many W-CATs increased cost to the merchant. In this paper, we propose the card holder initiated card payment system using the intelligent mobile devices in mobile environment for solving problems of the existing merchant initiated card payment system and coping effectively with the activation of a wireless data network and changes of information technology.

  • In this paper, we explain telecommunication services based on spoken language information technology. There are three different kinds of services. The first is based on Advanced Intelligent services(AIN). We built a Intelligent Peripheral(IP)with speech recognition, speech synthesis and VoiceXML interpreter. The second is based on KT-HUVOIS, a proprietary speech platform based on VoiceXML. The third is based on VoiceXML interpreter. We explain various services depending on these platforms in detail.

  • Ubiquitous services are high duality and differentiated services which are provided for users by recognizing the context of users and environmental conditions actively. In this case, context-aware middleware is one of the most important technologies required to implement the ubiquitous services. In this paper, we proposed a method for providing ubiquitous services in a specific user space effectively. That is, the design and implementation of intelligent home service middleware based on context awareness is discussed here. Context information from various sensors is gathered, and suitable services are inferred and provided to users by the middleware system.

  • In this study, The criteria for assessing the security-related functions and services using spatial information is deduced, and orders of priority a priority for the applicable alternatives of functions/services of intelligent security service application based on spatial information are suggested by calculating relative importance. Also this study suggested connection plan about service implementation of national security services by government ministry & local government. And, the intelligent security app service model which has possible substantiation and commercialization is proposed. This study performed the AHP as the final assessment criterions by 3 item in 1st class and 12 item in 2nd class. And, tried to implementation methods of the intelligent security service application(ex. control of emergency and the crime opportunity, real-time location tracking of protector, the device for missing child & dementia patient, user participation & provision of information).

  • Intelligent transport services on smart roads tend to have a problem at the stage of benefit-cost analysis that can not secure economic feasibility of the new services which increase early investment cost on building its infrastructure. It is expected that the number of road accidents, 'Incident/Accident', will decline through various safety services using intelligent safety facilities, intelligent transport management and so on, and that traffic congestion will also decrease. The effect of traffic congestion reduction could be the benefit by safety improvement, however current investment-analysis process in Korea does not appropriate it as a benefit. This study estimated road blocking time with 'Incident/Accident' classification and highway accident data of past three years. It also developed a generalized model by a regression analysis with a microscopical simulation. Furthermore, it suggested necessary units on quantitative analysis in order to make the developed model applicable to investment evaluation. As a result of applying the developed model to Smart-Highway Project, it showed that total safety improvement benefit is about 139 billion dollars over 30 years when it is supposed that accident decreasing rate by smart safety facilities is 10%.

A Development of Intelligent Context-Awareness Middleware (지능적 상황인지 미들웨어의 개발)

  • Context-Awareness system provides an appropriate service to user by recognizing situation from surrounding environment. There are many successful studies on this framework, but still has some limitations. In this paper, we are describing a context-awareness middleware that can enhance the limitation of the previous approaches. We first defined a new concept of context-awareness environment as a social intelligence. This concept implies that intelligent objects can make relationships, can aware of situation from surrounding environment, and can collaborate to accomplish a given task. The significance of the study is as follows. First, the system is capable of multi context-awareness since it is designed with a structure that supports multiple lines of reasoning. Second, the system is capable of context planning by adapting AI planning mechanism. Third, the system is capable of making the intelligent objects as a group for collaboration, and provides adaptive service to user. We have developed a prototype of the system and tested with a virtual scenario.

Service Profile Replication Scheme with Local Anchor for Next Generation Personal Communication Networks

  • It is expected that per-user customized services are widely used in next generation Personal Communication Network. To provide personalized services for each call, per-user service profiles are frequently referenced and signaling traffic is considerably large. Since the service calls are requested from the places where user stays, we can expect that the traffic is localized. In this paper, we propose a new service profile replication scheme, named Follow-Me Replication with local Anchor (FMRA). By replicating user's service profile in a user-specific location area, local anchor of each region, the signaling traffic for call and mobility can be distributed to local network. We compared the performance of the FMRA with two typical schemes: Intelligent Network-based !Central scheme and IMT-2000 based full replication scheme, as we refer it to Follow-Me Replication Unconditional (FMRU). Performance results indicate that FMRA lies between Central and FMRU schemes according to call to mobility ratio, and we identified the efficient ranges of CMR for FMRA depending on the various network parameters.

  • The latest the siri and like this is offering services that recognize and respond to words in the smartphone or web services. In order to handle intelligently these voices, It needs to search big data in the cloud and requires the implementation of parsing context accuracy given. In this paper, I would like to propose the study on the intelligent personal assistant development method base on the Open source with ASR(Automatic Speech Recognition), QAS(Question Answering System) and TTS(Text To Speech).
