  • The dynamic nature of the World Wide Web challenges Information Retrieval System to find information relevant and recent. Intelligent agents can complement the power of search engines to deal with this challenge. In this paper, we explain in manner of building Information Retrieval System based on intelligent agent technology. We present a tool called Websearcher. It was performed in Java environment. The object-oriented nature of Java and built-in facilities for multi-thread decreased our implementation effort. A modular software design makes it easy to configure the system for various experiments.

Fuzzy based Intelligent Expert Search for Knowledge Management Systems

  • In managing organizational tacit knowledge, recent researches have shown that it is more applicable in many ways to provide expert search mechanisms in KMS to pinpoint experts in the organizations with searched expertise. In this paper, we propose an intelligent expert search framework to provide search capabilities for experts in similar or related fields according to the user′s information needs. In enabling intelligent expert searches, Fuzzy Abstraction Hierarchy (FAH) framework has been adopted, through which finding experts with similar or related expertise is possible according to the subject field hierarchy defined in the system. To improve FAH, a text categorization approach called Vector Space Model is utilized. To test applicability and practicality of the proposed framework, the prototype system, "Knowledge Portal for Researchers in Science and Technology" sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of Korea, was developed.

A Framework for Inteligent Remote Learning System

  • Intelligent remote learning system is a system that incorporate communication technology and others : a database engine, an intelligent tutorial system. Learners can study by themselves through the intelligent tutorial system. The existence of a communication, database and artificial intelligence enhance the capability of IRLS. According to Parsaye, an intelligent databases should have the following features : 1) Knowledge discovery. 2) Data integrity and quality control. 3) Hypermedia management. 4) Data presentation and display. 5) Decision support and scenario analysis. 6) Data format management. 7) Intelligent system design tools. I hope that this research of framework for IRLS paves for the future research. As mentioned in the above, the future work will include an intelligent database, self-learning mechanism using neural network.

  • As the interest in achieving an intelligent society grows with the fourth industrial revolution's development, information and communications technologies technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things, virtual reality, information security, and blockchain technology are being actively employed in different fields for achieving an intelligent society. With these modifications, the information security paradigm in industrial and public institutions, like personal sensitive data, is quickly changing, and it is exposed to different cyber threats and breaches. Furthermore, as the number of cyber threats and breaches grows, so does the need for rapid detection and response. This demand can be satisfied by establishing cyber training programs and fostering experts that can improve cyber security abilities. In this study, we explored the domestic and international technology trends in cyber security education and training facilities for developing experts in information security. Additionally, the AI technology application in the cyber training ground, which can be established to respond to and deter cyber threats that are becoming more intelligent, was examined.

  • 최근 선거캠페인에서 수집되는 유권자 모델링 및 맞춤형 커뮤니케이션에 관한 데이터는 양적 확장성과 질적 유용성 측면에서 새롭다. 본 연구는 지능정보기술을 활용한 고도의 데이터 분석 능력이 정치에 어떻게 활용되고 있는지에 주목한다. 그 중에서도 선거캠페인에서의 유권자 행동 타게팅이 다양한 측면에서 민주주의 과정과 충돌할 수 있다는 점에 초점을 맞춘다. 이를 위해 마이크로 타게팅과 정치 봇을 살펴본다. 본 연구는 이러한 기술 기반의 캠페인 기법들이 민주주의의 핵심인 자유로운 의견 표출과 논쟁을 방해하는 요인으로 작동하는 양상을 보여준다. 동시에 이에 영향을 미치는 알고리즘의 속성을 파악한다. 본 연구는 지능정보기술 기반의 정치와 민주주의에서 다음과 같은 문제가 발생할 수 있음을 제시한다. 첫째, 정치참여의 불평등이 심화된다. 둘째, 유권자 간 공적 논쟁이 어려워진다. 셋째, 피상적인 정치가 만연한다. 넷째, 단일 이슈 정치와 배제의 정치 현상이 증가한다. 마지막으로 정치적 프라이버시가 침해될 수 있다. 요컨대, 지능정보시대 우리의 역할은 점점 고도화되고 있는 지능정보기술과 민주주의가 공존할 수 있는 방법을 모색하는 것이다.

  • As the world enters the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is represented by advanced technology, it not only changes the industrial field but also the education field. In recent years, Smart Learning has enriched learning by using diverse forms and technologies that utilize vast amount of information about learners' individual knowledge through the emergence of realistic and intelligent contents that combine high technology such as artificial intelligence, big data and virtual reality and there is an increasing interest in intelligent adaptive learning, which can customize individual education. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore intelligent adaptive learning method through recent smart education environment, beyond traditional writing-based communication education which is highly dependent on the competency of instructors. In this study, we analyzed the various learner information collected in the communication course and constructed a concrete teaching and learning method of intelligent adaptive learning based on the instructor's intended smart contents. The result of this study is expected to be the basis of highly personalized teaching and learning method of digital method in communication education which is emphasized in the fourth industrial revolution era.

  • In this paper, intelligent filtering methodology for masterarm translation signal is proposed. Fidelity and stability are contradicting factors in teleoperation. Human hand trembling filtering is one of the problems in telemanipulation field. During every operation the hand has a certain vibration that can affect the quality of teleoperation, especially in carrying FPD (Flat Panel for Display), nanomanipuation and other precise tasks. It is very important to study the kinesthetic perception of the human and to optimize the teleoperation system accordingly. To cancel out the influence of human's hand vibration the signal from the masterarm should be filtered. One of the feasible solutions is to use an intelligent filter based on fuzzy logic, which is a very flexible instrument. Applying intelligent filtering methodology, we can use some heuristic methods to solve the filtering problem.

  • 최근 우리나라 GIS는 지리공간정보에 u-IT 기술을 접목하여 응합 및 확장되는 새로운 지능형 지리정보 기술로 발전하고 있다. 이미 글로벌 IT 업계에서는 'Geospatial Web'을 통해 실세계와 가상세계를 연계하고 있으며, 사용자가 쉽게 지리공간정보에 접근 활용할 수 있는 엔진이나 플랫폼 등의 다양한 신기술 개발을 추진 중에 있다. 이에 본고에서는 지능형 지리정보의 핵심인 'Geospatial Web'에 대한 간략한 개념과 함께, 국내외 지능형 지리정보 기술 동향 및 UGIS 표준화 동향에 관해 살펴보고자 한다. 최종적으로는 이러한 국내외 지능형 지리정보 기술 동향 및 표준화동향 분석을 통해, 향후 지능형 지리정보 기술이 세계시장에서 선두기술 분야로 경쟁력을 갖출 수 있는 기술 개발 전략을 도출해 내는데 그 목적이 있다.
