Efficient container door Open/Closed detection mechanism for Container Security Device(ConTracer) (컨테이너 보안장치(ConTracer)를 위한 효율적인 컨테이너 도어 개폐감지 메커니즘)

  • This paper is intended as performance verification of efficient container door Open/Closed detection mechanism for Container Security Device(ConTracer) to container cargo transportation. Container door Open/Closed detection mechanism using Reed sensor is important to satisfies the US Department of homeland security customs and border protections requirements to many types of container door. Also, Verify that the container door is configured correctly and that you can check the illegal opening. In this article, Performance valuation of this Contacer on reed sensor has been verified through field test for each other 30 containers. Once the improvement has been made, we are suggest that propose skills will meet the highest standards for container security safety.

Passivity Control of a Passive Haptic Device based on Passive FME Analysis

  • In this paper, a control method is presented to improve performance of haptic display on a passive haptic device equipped with passive actuators. In displaying a virtual wall with the passive haptic device, an unstable behavior occurs with excessive actions of brakes due to the time delay mainly arising from the update rate of the virtual environment and force approximation originated from the characteristics of the passive actuators. The previous T.D.P.C. (Time Domain Passivity Control) method was not suitable for the passive haptic device, since a programmable damper used in the previously introduced T.D.P.C. method easily leads to undesirable behaviors. A new passivity control method is evaluated with considering characteristics of the passive device. First, we propose a control method which is designed under the analysis of the passive FME (Force Manipulability Ellipsoid). And then a passivity control scheme is applied to the proposed control method. Various experiments have been conducted to verify the proposed method with a 2-link mechanism.

Design and Development of a Monitoring System based on Smart Device for Service Robot Applications

  • Smart device has become an affordable main computing resource for robotic ap-plications in accordance with a fast growth of mobile internet environment. Since the computing power of smart device has been increased, smart device based ro-bot system attempts to replace traditional robot applications with laptop-based system. Methodologies for acquisition of remote sensory information and control of various types of robots using smart device have been proposed recently. In this paper, we propose a robot control system using a monitoring program and a communication protocol. The proposed system is a combination of an educa-tional programming oriented robot named EPOR-S. as small service robot plat-form and a smart device. Through a simulation study using image processing, the feasibility of combination of the proposed robot monitoring program and control system was verified.

  • The general Wi-Fi network connection structure is that a number of IoT (Internet of Things) sensor nodes are directly connected to one AP (Access Point) node. In this structure, the range of the network that can be established within the specified specifications such as the range of signal strength (RSSI) to which the AP node can connect and the maximum connection capacity is limited. To overcome these limitations, multiple middleware bridge technologies for dynamic scalability and load balancing were studied. However, these network expansion technologies have difficulties in terms of the rules and conditions of AP nodes installed during the initial network deployment phase In this paper, an intelligent edge computing IoT device is developed for constructing an intelligent autonomous cluster edge computing network and applying it to real-time road danger context aware and notification system through an intelligent risk situation recognition algorithm.

  • Passive Haptic Devices have more benefit than the active in Stability. But Apart from benefits, it shows poor performance in haptic display. The author proposed the passive FME(Force Manipulability Ellipsoid) which can graphically show force generating ability of a passive haptic device. In this paper, performance indexes for the force approximation and pseudo friction cone are obtained with the passive FME and an optimized planar device with the indexes is proposed. Based on the above theory, experiment is conducted.

  • This paper presents an intelligent electronic device(IED) platform which is based on a new frequency estimation algorithm. The IED platform features not only the accurate estimation of frequency but also the fast network-based transmisstion of fault data and waveforms. The simulation results show that the proposed frequency estimation algorithm improves convergence speed, and has lower frequency estimation error compared with those of conventional algorithms. The network-based IED is designed to ensure transmission latency being less than 1.0% of sampling interval.

  • Streaming Technology can support the real-time playback without downloading and storing multimedia data in local HDD. So, client browser or plug-in can represent multimedia data before the end of file transmission using streaming technology. Recently, the demand for efficient real-time playback and transmission of large amounts of multimedia data is growing rapidly. But most users' connections over network are not fast and stable enough to download large chunks of multimedia data. In this paper, we propose an intelligent IP streaming system based on personalized media service. The proposed IP streaming system enables users to get an intelligent recommendation of multimedia contents based on the user preference information stored on the streaming server or the home media server. The supposed intelligent IP streaming system consists of Server Metadata Agent, Pumping Server, Contents Storage Server, Client Metadata Agent and Streaming Player. And in order to implement the personalized media service, the user information, user preference information and client device information are managed under database concept. Moreover, users are assured of seamless access of streamed content event if they switch to another client device by implementing streaming system based on user identification and device information. We evaluate our approach with manufacturing home server system and simulation results.

  • In this paper, the IED(Intelligent Electronic Devices) with the consideration of harmonic problems is discussed, With significant development of power electronics technology, the proliferation of a nonlinear load has more deteriorated power quality, As continuous harmonic current makes for a shortening lifetime, overheat and abnormal operation, it should be considered to improve these problems. However, the conventional digital protective relay which eliminates harmonic elements with orthogonal filter has a defect on actually implementation. The prototype IED is constructed with Digital Signal Processor(TMS320C32) and Complex Programmable Logic Device. According to the experiment and simulation results, it is proved that the proposed system has good performance of measuring harmonic factors and protecting electrical equipment.

  • This paper suggests smart gateway structure and functionalities that provide device web service which can be used by user using objectified devices. The smart gateway objectify a physical device in other to provide the device web service in IoT intelligent service. And the paper suggests a mechanism that provide orchestrated service of various devices to user using a concept of service overlay network. and also suggests a interface that provide device web services and the orchestrated service between the smart gateway and a web service platform. In the paper, the objectified devices can be combined with web service objects and device contexts based on the service overlay network, furthermore the objectified devices can provide intelligence and dynamic service in the IoT environment.
