Recent decrease in the availability of experienced skilled labor and a corresponding lack of new entrants has required the need for automating many of the construction equipment used in the construction industry. In particular, excavators are widely used throughout earthwork operations and automating its tasks enables work to be performed with higher productivity and safety. This paper introduces an optimal path generation method which is one of the core technologies required to make "Intelligent" excavators a reality. The method divides a given earthwork area into unit cells, identifies networks created by linking these cells, and identifies the optimal path an excavator should follow to minimize its total transportation costs. In addition, the method also accounts for drainage direction and path continuity to ensure that the generated path considers site specific conditions.

A number of studies have been conducted recently regarding the development of automation systems for the construction sector. Much of this attention has focused on earthwork because it is highly dependent on construction machines and is regarded as being basic for the construction of buildings and civil works. For example, technologies are being developed in order to enable earthwork planning based on construction site models that are constructed by automatic systems and to enable construction equipment to perform the work based on the plan and the environment. There are many problems that need to be solved in order to enable the use of automatic earthwork systems in construction sites. For example, technologies are needed for enabling collaborations between similar and different kinds of construction equipment. This study aims to develop a construction system that imitates collaborative systems and decision-making methods that are used by humans. The proposed system relies on the multi-agent concept from the field of artificial intelligence. In order to develop a multi-agent-based system, configurations and functions are proposed for the agents and a framework for collaboration and arbitration between agents is presented. Furthermore, methods are introduced for preventing duplicate work and minimizing interference effects during the collaboration process. Methods are also presented for performing advance planning for the excavators and compactors that are involved in the construction. The current study suggests a theoretical framework and evaluates the results using virtual simulations. However, in the future, an empirical study will be conducted in order to apply these concepts to actual construction sites through the development of a physical system.
An intelligent deburring control (IDC) device is used to control the constant force for a deburring tool mounted on the end-effector of a robotic arm. This device maintains a constant contact force between the deburring tool and the workpiece in order to provide a good deburring performance. In this paper, we build a mathematical model in Matlab/Simulink to estimate the force control mechanism of the pneumatic system for the IDC device. The Simulink blocks are built for each separate part and are linked into an integrated simulation system. Such a model also relies on the effects of the flow rate through the valve, air compressibility in the cylinder, and time delay in the pressure valve. The results of the simulation are compared to a simple experiment in which convenient math modeling is performed. These results are then used to optimize the mechanical design and to develop a force control algorithm for the pneumatic cylinder.

In the Recent times, various technological enhancements in the field of artificial intelligence and big data has been noticed. This advancement coupled with the evolution of the 5G communication and Internet of Things technologies, has helped in the development in the domain of smart mine construction. The development of unmanned vehicles with enhanced and smart scheduling system for open-pit mine transportation is one such much needed application. Traditional open-pit mining systems, which often cause vehicle delays and congestion, are controlled by human authority. The number of sensors has been used to operate unmanned cars in an open-pit mine. The sensors haves been used to prove the real-time data in large quantity. Using this data, we analyses and create an improved transportation scheduling mechanism so as to optimize the paths for the vehicles. Considering the huge amount the data received and aggregated through various sensors or sources like, the GPS data of the unmanned vehicle, the equipment information, an intelligent, and multi-target, open-pit mine unmanned vehicle schedules model was developed. It is also matched with real open-pit mine product to reduce transport costs, overall unmanned vehicle wait times and fluctuation in ore quality. To resolve the issue of scheduling the transportation, we prefer to use algorithms based on artificial intelligence. To improve the convergence, distribution, and diversity of the classic, rapidly non-dominated genetic trial algorithm, to solve limited high-dimensional multi-objective problems, we propose a decomposition-based restricted genetic algorithm for dominance (DBCDP-NSGA-II).
This study presents one man-portable, hazardous gas detecting and capturing robot. The robot can be fit in the trunk of a sedan car. Its weight is less than 20 kg. A dedicated gas intake mechanism is proposed for the robot. The robot can detect and capture gases at a height of 2 m above the ground, although the height of the robot is about 0.2 m. The performance of the gas intake mechanism is verified through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis and experiments. Its gas detecting signals were acquired by serial communication and processed in Robot Operating System (ROS) based control software. The proposed robot can successfully move on rough terrains such as stairs, sand roads, and rock roads.

According to the realization of highly information dependent society, the recent building system is developed into the concept of suitable for management of intellegent work, which is demanded to unify of IBS(Intelligent Building System), IC(information communication), OA(office automation), BA(building automation) system and computer technology. However inspite of the presence arrester, cable shielding, insulated TR, filter, earth etc., in the IBS building for the cope with several surge and noise has several problems from the wrong operation of the equipment which caused from several surge, damage of equipment, and noise etc. And the miss operation caused by wrong earth works, which must be considered at first during the building construction. In order to minimize these problems, it's necessary that various earth project are performed effectively, and bonding methods between the mutual wiring of earth system and the equipments in the building should be improved sucessively. So in this paper, we analyze present domestic conditions of the earth technology in IBS building, and propose minimization method for the various surge and noise problem, and examine and analyze through the applied works.

Proportional control solenoid is a type of modulating valve that can continuously control the valve position with magnetic force of solenoid. Recent microcontroller based digital servocontroller for proportional valve is being developed toward the smart valve with additional features such as enhanced control algorithm for finer process and intelligent on-board diagnosis for maintenance. In this paper, development of servocontroller network control with CAN bus which is free from problems of security and network traffic jam is presented. Design of network control system includes modes of communication between master and slave, assignment of 29bit message identifier and message objects, transaction of communication sequence, etc. Monitoring function and control experiments for remote valve through CAN network prove the extended function of smart valve control system.
This paper deals with tipping over of hydraulic excavator's crane work. If the excavator lifts too heavy weight, the excavator will be tipped up. This is account for 38% of whole excavator accidents. In this paper, tipping-over load which is maximum load of excavator can lift with displacement of excavator links, real load and tipping-over rate are computed with Zero Moment Point theory. ZMP is verified with simulation and experiment.

For the bucket tip position control of the excavator, a traditional hydraulic excavator system was exchanged into an electro-hydraulic one. EPPR valves are attached to the traditional MCV and hydraulic joysticks are replaced by electronic ones to develop the electro-hydraulic system. To control the electronic pump with a good performance, the control logic for the pump is deduced from the AMESim simulation and the experimental method on the test bench. To get a good position control performance of the excavator bucket tip, PI+AntiWindup controller is selected as a position controller. The experimental results showed the good controllability for the electro-hydraulic excavator system on the test bench.
In order to construct a digital substation based on IEC61850, All of the utility company should used IEDs to be verified and also vendors should get a certification from the international conformance testing organizationsuch as KEMA. So KEPRI in charge of POWER IT project related to SAS was required to IED conformance testing system, which can perform the test previously. The system, KEPCO developed, consists of HMI, IED (Intelligent Electronic Device), network equipment, V/I generator etc
