  • With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, the patenting activities related to the fields of AI is increasing worldwide. In particular, a share of patent filed in China has exploded in recent years and overtakes the numbers in the US. In the present study, we focus our attention on the patenting activity of China and the US. We analyzed 6,281 and 13,664 patent applications in the US and China respectively between 2008 and 2018, and belonging to the "G06F(Electric Digital Data Processing)", "G06N(Computer Systems Based on Specific Computational Models)", "H04L(Transmission of Digital Information)" and nine more relevant technological classes, as indicated by the International Patent Classification(IPC). Our analysis contributes to: first, the understanding of patent application trends from foreign countries filed in the US and China, 2) patent application status by applicants category such as companies, universities and individuals, 3) the development direction and forecasting vacant technology of AI according to main IPC code. Through the analysis of this paper, we can suggest some implications for patent research related to artificial intelligence in Korea. Plus, by analyzing the most recent patent data, we can provide important information for future artificial intelligence technology research.

  • In this study, we tried to identify research trends on artificial intelligence security focusing on the United States, United Kingdom, and South Korea. In Elsevier's Scopus We collected 4,983 papers related to artificial intelligence security published from 2018 to 2022 and by using the abstracts of the collected papers, Keyword frequency and centrality analysis were conducted. By calculating keyword frequency, keywords with high frequency of appearance were identified and through the centrality analysis, central research keywords were identified by country. Through the analysis results, research related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, Internet of Things, and cybersecurity in each country was conducted as the most central and highly mediating research. The implication for Korea is that research related to cybersecurity, privacy, and anomaly detection has lower centralities compared to the United States and research related to big data has lower centralities compared to United Kingdom. Therefore, various researches that intensively apply artificial intelligence technology to these fields are needed.

  • Artificial intelligence is evolving rapidly in the ICT field, smart convergence media system and content industry through the fourth industrial revolution, and it is evolving very rapidly through Big Data. In this paper, we propose a face recognition method based on object recognition based on object recognition through artificial intelligence. In this method, Were experimented and studied through the object recognition technique of artificial intelligence. In the conventional 3D image field, general research on object recognition has been carried out variously, and researches have been conducted on the side effects of visual fatigue and dizziness through 3D image. However, in this study, we tried to solve the problem caused by the quantitative difference between object recognition and object recognition for human factor algorithm that measure visual fatigue through cognitive function, morphological analysis and object recognition. Especially, The new method of computer interaction is presented and the results are shown through experiments.

  • As artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a promising future technology among the fourth industrial revolution, we are trying to apply artificial intelligence technology across all area of society, including libraries. This study investigated the effects, issues, and implications of artificial intelligence on university library services. As a research method, in-depth interviews were conducted with IT experts of university libraries in North America, and conclusions and discussion were drawn from interview results and related documents. Research results revealed that university libraries in North America were trying to build an infrastructure that facilitates information access and retrieval based on artificial intelligence systems and to provide new services in collaboration with AI research institutes in universities. This study raised issues regarding the expansion of the role of libraries and librarians, privacy, and data quality. It was also discussed that the need for re-education of university librarians to become software engineers who play a role in disseminating knowledge. In addition, this study suggested the investment for the establishment of the information system and an artificial intelligence research center in the library. The study discussed limitations of research due to changes in the research environment and suggestions for future research.

  • Is the social web environment in which production, distribution and consumption of information occurs from users an environment where manifestation of collective intelligence is easily made? Or is the social web environment a condition that incites people to depend on the groupthink due to biased information? It is important to conduct empirical studies on the possibility of social media as a tool of collective intelligence under the situation where conflicting opinions prevail. However, most of the existing studies related to this were limited to an exploratory research rather than an empirical research. In this regard, this study attempted to examine if the social media can perform a part as a platform of the collective intelligence empirically. Based on the experimental results, it can be safely said that the communication methods of social media showed its usefulness in both 'intellectual capacity of the group' and 'problem-solving skill of the group.'

  • Ever increasing dependence of organization on information technology stimulates interactions between individuals and groups in the process of knowledge creation, which overall impies that a reciprocal mechanism lies within the structure of the growth of group intelligence. Individual's intelligence may affect the group intelligence, and vise versa. However, the level of group intelligence is not necessarily determined by the sum of individual's intelligence but the quality of the interactions among the individuals. This study thus aims to conceptually identify the dynamic structure of interactions among the factors influencing the group intelligence level, which is believed to be used as a tool to measure the difference of intelligence between groups. To achieve this goal several attempts were made. First, determinants of intelligence at indiviual level and group level and similarities and differences between individual's and group intelligence were identified from the previous research. Second, causal loop diagrams were developed, which show how individual's intelligence influences group intelligence and vise versa. Third, it was attempted to identify and interpret which feedback loops are most influential in either improving or hapering group intelligence as a whole. Since this study remains only at exploratory level, a more detailed and workable model for field applications has to be developed in the future.

  • In the era of the information revolution, the need for artificial intelligence convergence education is emerging in the trend of global change. Therefore, in this paper, a physical computing programming education method that combines artificial intelligence was developed and applied. The control group was provided with physical computing programming education that did not converge with artificial intelligence, and the experimental group developed and applied a physical computing programming education method that fused artificial intelligence to analyze the impact on elementary school students' computing thinking ability. As a result, it was confirmed that physical computing programming education fused with artificial intelligence had a more positive effect on enhancing elementary school students' computational thinking skills compared to physical computing programming education without artificial intelligence.
