  • Guidance commands for attitude controlled missiles inevitably take the form of attitude angle commands. On the other hand, many guidance laws compute the accelerations required to achieve their goals. Therefore some integrators must be in use for the attitude controlled missiles to implement the guidance laws. Naturally, the use of the integrator raises the problem of choosing a proper initial value. In this paper, we compute the integrator initial value which minimizes the terminal miss and show that if the total flight time of the mission is long enough, the "optimal" initial value becomes some multiple of the initial heading error or of the given impact angle to the target. We demonstrate the validity of the analysis by showing some linear and nonlinear simulation results.n results.

PI속도제어기에서의 새로운 적분누적 방지기법 (New Anti-windup Strategy for PI-type Speed Controller)

  • This paper proposes a new anti-windup strategy to suppress integrator windup for PI speed controller and to be implemented on the existing system with minimal modification. When the speed control mode is changed from P controller to PI controller. an appropriate initial value for integrator is assigned. This value restricts overshoot and high settling time. Also, the proposed method guarantees the designed performance independent on operating conditions, i.e. different set-point change and load torque. Simulation and experimental results for PMSM speed controller have shown its superior performance compared with the conditional integration and tracking back calculation.

  • Most realistic control systems contain nonlinearities of some form. One nonlinearity commonly found in control systems is a saturating element. If integral control is applied to such a system to eliminate steady state error, an undesired side effect known as integrator windup may occur when lage setpoint changes are made. This effect leads to a characteristic step response with a large overshoot and a very high settling time. To avoid this situation, many different anti-windup strategies have been suggested. But existing strategies remain over shoot and high settling time. This paper proposes a new anti-windup strategy for PI speed controllers. When the speed control system is changed P controller to PI controller. Integrator has an appropriate initial value. This value results over shoot and high settling time. The SIMULINK/MATLAB-based comparative simulation results and experiment results of speed controller have shown its superior control performance to that of a proposed anti-windup speed controller.

  • This paper is to consider an issue on the way to initialize the integrator in PID roll controller. A performance index including the 2 norms of roll angle and control signal is introduced to regulate initial roll angle and roll rate in an efficient way. And then we suggest the optimal value to initiate the integrator in PID roll controller by minimizing the performance index. The proposed method shows its effectiveness by showing a demonstrative design example.

  • In this paper, a voltage controller for the seamless transition of a grid-connected inverter for ESS is proposed. The single-phase inverter is operated as a current controller when the grid is connected and as a voltage controller in the stand-alone mode when the grid is disconnected. Generally, in the case of grid recovery, the overcurrent may flow into the system because of the mismatch phase between the inverter output and grid voltages. The proposed controller resolves the overcurrent problem through phase delay problems with initial value feed-forward control of the integrator when the grid voltage is restored. The effects of the control method are simulated through PSIM, and the usefulness of the control method is verified through experiments.
