Methods : It were collected to a total of 250 questionnaires for patients admitted to the regional integrative medical hospital. However, 232 samples were used for the final analysis, excluding 18 copies not reported in good faith. For the analysis, first, demographic frequency analysis of inpatients and inpatients was performed, and second, characteristics of patients, including frequent disease receiving treatment, were analyzed. Next, descriptive statistics analysis was conducted on unmet medical service intentions. In terms of hospital selection attribute, the items of continuity maintenance (I quadrant), priority visibility (II quadrant), low priority (III quadrant), and excessive effort (IV quadrant) were derived using the IPA (importance-performance analysis) matrix technique. Results : The derived results were classified by item and area. In the priority administration area, it was the reputation and recognition of medical institutions and the service area of medical institutions. In the case of items, there were 6 items including the importance of surgery and medical expenses, and diet at hospitalization. 1) Conclusion : Thus a result of this study, resources are efficiently allocated to priority correction areas with high importance but low satisfaction and circulatory medical treatment is performed in the departments required by patients who use medical care and, various methods, such as preparing a policy to support medical expenses, should be sought.

In addition, we investigated the operating system of how Ease-West Integrative Care in hospitals is operating in order to grasp the actual situation is being done. Results As a result of analyzing the status, there was a balanced cooperation between the Korean Medicine and Western Medicine with a ratio of 0.86:1. The disease status from Korean Medicine to Western Medicine were mostly occupied by stroke patients and from Western Medicine to Korean Medicine fragment were mostly by musculoskeletal pain patients. Conclusions The results of this study showed that the Ease-West Integrative Care system of surveyed Korean Medical hospital has more integrated medical characteristics than previous studies in terms of quality and quantitative. Future research based on detailed data collection and review for a longer period is expected in the further.
Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of an integrated medical service model for a fibromyalgia patient and their caregiver, focusing on reducing pain and improving quality of life. Methods: A single-case study design was employed, involving a fibromyalgia patient and their primary caregiver treated at W University Hospital. The integrated medical service program, based on the Ministry of Health and Welfare's model, included medical consultations and complementary therapies such as psychological counseling, art therapy, music therapy, horticultural therapy, yoga, and meditation. The program was conducted weekly for 8 weeks, with each session lasting up to 100 minutes. Data collection involved both quantitative and qualitative assessments. Quantitative data included demographic surveys, psychological tests, health-related quality of life measures, pain indices, and sleep quality indices. Qualitative data were gathered through feedback evaluations and emotional assessments. Results: The patient showed improvements in mobility, self-care, daily activities, and anxiety/depression, with EQ-VAS scores increasing from 20 to 40 and pain perception decreasing from 67.41 to 42.58. The caregiver reported reduced anxiety/depression and an increase in EQ-VAS scores from 95 to 98. Both patient and caregiver exhibited emotional changes, with decreased depression and increased happiness. However, the patient showed an increase in fear and anger. Conclusions: The integrated medical service model positively impacted the emotional and psychological well-being of the fibromyalgia patient and their caregiver. Despite the limitations of a small sample size and a single-case study design, the findings suggest that an integrated approach can be beneficial. Larger-scale studies are needed to confirm and generalize these results.
Dural ectasia is defined as ballooning or expansion of the dural sac surrounding the spinal cord. This report describes a rare case of low back pain and sciatica, suspected as being dural ectasia. The patient was hospitalized for 45 days, and underwent integrative Korean medical treatment, including pharmacopuncture, acupuncture, herbal medicine, Chuna therapy, cupping therapy, and physiotherapy. The effect of the treatment was evaluated using the numerical rating scale, Oswestry disability index, European quality of life 5 dimensions, and subjective symptoms. After inpatient treatment, the pain the patient experienced was significantly reduced and the evaluation indices improved. This case report suggested that integrative Korean medical treatment could be an effective therapeutic choice for low back pain and sciatica, with dural ectasia. Further clinical studies are needed to support this observation.
Objectives : We report a case of Phantom Limb Pain (PLP) and propose the possibility of integrative Korean and Western medicine in PLP treatment. Methods : For 42 days, a patient who complained of pain and insomnia with PLP (December 20, 2016 to January 20, 2017) received Korean and Western medical treatment. The patient was treated with analgesic injection, a neuropathic pain inhibitor, the combined herbal formula powders Bojungikgitang, and acupuncture. Symptom improvement was assessed using the numerical rating scale (NRS) and continuous sleep time. Results : The patient's NRS scores decreased, and continuous sleep time increased after treatment. The NRS scores decreased from 10 to 0, and the continuous sleep time increased from 2 hours to 7 to 8 hours. Conclusion : According to the results, this report suggests that integrative Korean and Western medicine could be effective in the treatment of PLP patients.
Objectives This is one of the manuals of East-West integrative medicine which was created by the committee on integrative medicine of Chung-Yeon Korean Medicine Hospital. The purpose of this manual is to support clinical decision-making and communication between Korean and western medical staff in a Korean medicine hospital during the rehabilitation of patients after knee surgery. Methods The draft was made by two rehabilitation specialists in Korean medicine. After a rehabilitation specialist in western medicine reviewed the draft and exchanged their ideas, a revised version that reflects the goal of consultation was made. Then the committee agreed to adopt the manuals through the process of review and feedback in addition to face-to-face discussions. Results This manual describes clinical decision-making for rehabilitation after arthroscopic partial meniscus resection, meniscus refixation, reconstruction of anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments. Therefore, it contains the schedule of rehabilitation treatment by the surgical technique, general goal of the rehabilitation by phase, guide for patients and postoperative infection management. Conclusions Despite some limitations, this manual has significance as the first example of a decision-making protocol suggestion for East-West integrative rehabilitation treatment after a knee surgery in one medical institution.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of integrative medicine on recurrent follicular lymphoma, thus providing a clinical basis for integrative medicine. Methods: The medical report of a patient with follicular lymphoma who had undergone several chemotherapies but continuously relapsed before treated with integrative medicine was analyzed. Radiologic outcome was assessed by several imaging tests based on Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors. Clinical outcome and safety were assessed by laboratory tests. Results: After five years of integrative treatment, there was a complete response in imaging tests such as computed tomography (CT), positron-emission tomography/CT, and endoscopy. There were no toxicity in the laboratory test and no serious side effect of integrative medicine. Conclusion: This study suggested that integrative medicine has few side effects but significant effects on treating recurrent follicular lymphoma. However, the results should be taken cautiously as further clinical studies are needed.

The chief complaints were severe burning pain, general weakness, sleep disorder, and aggressive and depressed mood. The treatment effect was evaluated by measuring the numerical rating scale (NRS) of pain, improvement of the quality of sleep, and change in mood status. Results: After the hospital treatment, the patient's pain was controlled and the NRS score was decreased. Sleep and mood disorder also improved. Conclusions: The integrative Korean medical treatments appeared to be effective in reducing Type 1 CRPS symptoms. Further clinical research of patients with CRPS is needed.
