  • Since software and hardware integration has became a strategic tool for companies to innovate their products, an information system that can comprehensively manage software and hardware integrated product development is critical for the current product development. This paper proposed a product data model that can support modules of related software and hardware parts in Product Data Management(PDM) integrated with Software Configuration Management(SCM). The model allows engineers to define software and hardware product structure independently, and support the integration module that can summon related software and hardware parts to build a comprehensive module for collaboration. Through the integration module, engineers can identify and examine the effectiveness of their design alternatives to other related parts form different disciplines. The product data model was implemented as a prototype PDM system and tested with an example robotics product.

  • This paper aims to propose an emergency recognition system using multimodal information extracted by an image processing module, a voice processing module, and a gravity sensor processing module. Each processing module detects predefined events such as moving, stopping, fainting, and transfer them to the multimodal integration module. Multimodal integration module recognizes emergency situation by using the transferred events and rechecks it by asking the user some question and recognizing the answer. The experiment was conducted for a faint motion in the living room and bathroom. The results of the experiment show that the proposed system is robust than previous methods and effectively recognizes emergency situations at various situations.

  • In this paper, we implement a common module that can integrate multiple biometric information for integrated patient monitoring system. Conventional biomedical instruments have many devices attached to each patient, making it difficult to monitor abnormality signs of many patients in real time. In this paper, we propose a module for an integrated monitoring system that can perform centralized monitoring using a common module that integrates multiple measurement devices. A protocol for sending and receiving packets between the measuring device and the common module is designed, and the packets transmitted through the network are stored and managed through the integrated monitoring system and provide information to various users such as medical staff. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the management of patients and efficient medical services in hospitals.

  • This paper presents a multimodal emergency recognition system based on visual information, audio information and gravity sensor information. It consists of video processing module, audio processing module, gravity sensor processing module and multimodal integration module. The video processing module and gravity sensor processing module respectively detects actions such as moving, stopping and fainting and transfer them to the multimodal integration module. The multimodal integration module detects emergency by fusing the transferred information and verifies it by asking a question and recognizing the answer via audio channel. The experiment results show that the recognition rate of video processing module only is 91.5% and that of gravity sensor processing module only is 94%, but when both information are combined the recognition result becomes 100%.

  • In order to meet the users' demand, who needs faster and more accurate data in geographic information, it is necessary to obtain and process the data more effectively. Now more effective data obtainments about geographic information is possible through the development of integration technology, which is applied to the field of geographic information, as well as through the development of hardware and software engineering. With the fast and precise correction and update, the development of integrate technology can bring the reduction of the time and money. To obtain fast and precise geographic information using Aerial Photogrammetry method, it is necessary to develop Airborne GPS/INS integration system, which makes GCP to the minimum. For this reason, this study has tried to develop a system which could unite and process both GPS and INS data. For this matter, code-processing module for DGPS and OTF initializaion module, which can decide integer ambiguity even in motion, have been developed. And also, continuous kinematic carrier-processing module has been developed to calculate the location at the moment of filming. In addition, this study suggests a possibility of using a module, which can unite GPS and INS, using Kalman filtering, and also shows the INS navigation theory.

  • In this study, we developed a co-located and space-shared multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna module with a modular design and high integration level. The proposed antenna pair includes a half-wavelength loop antenna and a dipole-type antenna printed on the front and back sides of a compact modular board. Owing to their modal orthogonality, these two independent antenna elements are highly self-isolated and free of additional decoupling components, even though they are assembled at the same location and within the same space. Thus, the proposed antenna is attractive in 5G MIMO systems. Furthermore, the proposed co-located and space-shared MIMO antenna module was employed in a 5G smartphone to verify their radiation and diversity performances. A 12 × 12 MIMO antenna system was simulated and fabricated using the proposed module. Based on the results, the proposed module can be employed in large-scale MIMO antenna systems for current and future terminal devices owing to its high integration, compactness, simple implementation, and inherent isolation.
