  • Labidocera pavo Giesbrecht, 1889 and L. sinilobata Shen and Lee, 1963, belonging to the detruncata group in the genus Labidocera were collected from the southwestern coastal waters of Korea, using a Norpac net (0.2 mm mesh size). Labidocera sinilobata, known to be endemic species in estuary of Chinese rivers, is the first record in Korean waters. In Chinese waters, this species has only been briefly documented and illustrated. In the study, their morphological characteristics were fully redescribed with careful examination of the fine epidermal structure using a SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) in addition to their illustrations and compared with species of the detruncata species-group.

  • Three Pleuromamma copepods were newly collected from the South Sea of Korea in the summer when the Tsushima Warm Current was strong. They were identified as Pleuromamma abdominalis(Lubbock, 1856), P. indica Wolfenden, 1905, and P. xiphias (Giesbrecht, 1889). Although these species have been reported in world oceans, they were first reported from Korean waters. So far, four species of Pleuromamma (P. borealis Dahl, 1893, P. gracilis Claus, 1863, P. piseki Farran, 1929, and P. robusta (Dahl, 1893)) have been recorded in Korean waters. We provided re-description of these three species insufficiently described by previous authors and key characters for species identification in addition to species hitherto known in Korea.

  • The weapon system has developed by adding various functions because of the warfare change. And, an weapon system test set (WSTS) that is used to test and judge the condition of weapon system also deal with a lot of complex information. However, almost WSTS is developed on the basis of developer-centric. Because of it, it is hard to make a result by apprehending information on WSTS's display. Thus, I proposed a new display of WSTS by adapting the Ecological Interface Design(EID) Methodology to reduce operator's cognitive workload and assure safe testing. WSTS's Display is developed through Information Requirement and Work Domain Model as a result of Work Domain Analysis. The most powerful thing in the new display is that operator can identify his testing and status of WSTS directly. I expect that it reduces operator's cognitive workload and helps safe testing.

  • Fisheries' biological resources were considered public resources before the 1990s. Every country could access and use these resources without regulation. However, the United Nations adopted the Convention on Biological Diversity and the privileges and rights to these resources were attributed to countries. This research starts with the research background and social and academic value of "The Jasan Eobo (or Report on Marine Organisms in the Coastal Waters near Heuksan Island)" by Jeong Yak-Jeon, who pioneered the new field of Fisheries Science and Marine Biology in Korea in the early 1800s. We also searched for recent results from the Marine Bio-Diversity Research Activities of the Korean National Council for Conservation of Nature (KNCCN) and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MOMAF). KNCCN reported that marine bio-diversity comprised approximately 6,500 species in 1996, and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries reported there were about 10,000 species in 2007. Among these marine species, plankton account for about 25%, seaweeds 11%, invertebrates 52%, and vertebrates 12% in Korean Coastal Areas. The Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MIFAFF) enacted a law for Agriculture and Fisheries Resources Management in 2012; this law includes the preservation of marine ecosystems, the conservation of wetlands and the preservation of fisheries resources, and describes the boundary of taxonomy for new species and unknown species that could be identified in the near future. To follow the new regulation for Access to General Resources and Benefit-Sharing, this research suggests (1) the importance of taxonomy for new species and unknown species as a goal of "No Name = No Information", (2) integrated research on bio-diversity, species distributions and the abundance of fisheries resources, both in local areas and in Korean Coastal Areas, and (3) the observance of international regulations or agreements for benefit-sharing without additional damage in the future.

  • As the interest in the combinatorial auction has increased, diverse combinatorial auction market types have been proposed. Although there have been several studies on the combinatorial auction design, the studies covered some factors or partial dimensions of combinatorial auction design. Given the potential practical value of combinatorial auctions, it is necessary to approach it with an integrated and systematic design methodology for supporting a comprehensive range of combinatorial auction models. Thus, we present a systematic framework for combinatorial auction design methodology. In particular, we classified the combinatorial auction architecture types, process types, and mechanism types. This framework characterizes the different combinatorial auction models, and lead to a useful taxonomy of the combinatorial auction design factors and taxonomy of the market types by coordination among the design factors. In addition, we illustrate an n-bilateral combinatorial auction market, derived from our design methodology, to show the viability of our study.

  • To acquire the hints of the development of children's multiplication strategies, this study tried to find the differences between the students who learned multiplication and the students who didn't. And we also tried to explore their acquired computational resources. As a result, we confirm that there is a certain direction on the development of children's multiplication strategies according to their grades and the level of acquirement of mathematical knowledge. Moreover, we comprehend that commutative law is an important part of the strategies on two-digit multiplication and that acquisition of the computational resources must precede the learning of multiplication strategies. In the end part, this article proposes a new taxonomy of strategies for multiplication. To support our proposal, we integrated the prior researches with our findings.

  • The Avatar robot, which is one of the teleoperation robots, aims to enable users to feel the robot as a part of the body to intuitively and naturally perform various tasks. Considering the purpose of the avatar robot, an end-effector identical to a human hand is advantageous, but a robotic hand with human hand level performance has not yet been developed. In this paper we propose a new 3-finger robotic hand with human-avatar hand posture mapping algorithm which were integrated with TOCABI-AVATAR, one of the teleoperation system. Due to the flexible rolling contact joints and tendon driven mechanism applied to the finger, the finger could implement adaptive grasping and absorb the impact force caused by unexpected contacts. In addition, human-avatar hand mapping algorithm using five calibration hand postures propose to compensate physical differences between operators. Using the TOCABI-AVATAR system with the robotic hands and mapping algorithm, the operator can perform 13 out of 16 hand postures of grasping taxonomy and 4 gestures. In addition, using the system, we participated in the ANA AVATAR XPRIZE Semi-final and successfully performed three scenarios which including various social interactions as well as object manipulation.
