회절격자가 집적된 일회용 다중채널 SPR 생체분자 검출 칩 (A Disposable Grating-Integrated Multi-channel SPR Sensor Chip for Detection of Biomolecule)

  • This paper presents a grating~integrated SPR (Surface Plasmon Resonance) sensor chip for simple and inexpensive biomolecule detection. The grating-integrated SPR sensor chip has two sensing channels having a nano grating for SPR coupling. An external mirror is used for multi channel SPR sensing. The present sensor chip replaces bulky and expensive optical components, such as fiber-optic switches or special shaped prisms, resulting in a simple and inexpensive wavelength modulated multi-channel SPR sensing system. We fabricate a SPR sensor chip integrated with 835 nm-pitch gratings by a micromolding technique to reduce the fabrication cost. In the experimental characterization, the refractive index sensitivity of each sensing channel is measured as $321.8{\pm}8.1nm$/RI and $514.3{\pm}8.lnm$/RI, respectively. 0.5uM of the target biomolecule (streptavidin) was detected by a $1.13{\pm}0.16nm$ shift of the SPR dip in the 10%-biotinylated sample channel, while the SPR dip in the reference channel for environmental perturbation monitoring remained at the same position. From the experimental results, multi-channel biomolecule detection capability of the present grating-integrated SPR sensor chip has been verified. On the basis of the preliminary experiments, we successfully measured the binding reaction rate for the $2\;nM{\sim}200\;nM$ monoclonal-antibiotin, thus verifying biomolecule concentration detectability of the present SPR sensor chip. The binding reaction rates measured from the present SPR sensor chip agredd well with those from a commercialized SPR sensor.

  • Distributed piezoeletric sensor and actuator have been designed for efficient vibration control of a cantilevered beam. Both PZT and PVDF have been used in this study, the former as an actuator and the latter as a sensor for the integrated structure. We have optimized the position and the size of the PZT actuator and the electrode shape of the PVDF sensor. Finite element method is used to model the structure and the optimized actuators, we have designed the active electrode width of the PVDF sensor along the span of the beam. Actuator design is based on the criterion of minimizing the system energy in the control modes under a given initial condition. Model control forces for the residual (uncontrolled) modes have been minimized during the sensor design to minimize the observation spill-over. Genetic algorithm and sequential quadratic programming technique have been utilized as an optimization scheme. Discrete LQG control law has been applied to the integrated structure for real time vibration control. Performance of the sensor, the actuator, and the integrated smart structure has been demonstrated by experiments.

  • We fabricated photo-sensor for fluorescence detection in LOC. LOC is high throughput screening system. Our LOC screens biochemical reaction of protein using the immunoassay, and converts biochemical reaction into electrical signal using LIF(Laser Induced Fluorescence) detection method. Protein is labeled with rhodamine intercalating dye and finger PIN photodiode is used as photo-sensor We measured fluorescence emission of rhodamine dye and analyzed tendency of fluorescence detection, according to photo-sensor size, light intensity, and rhodamine concentration. Detection current was almost linearly proportional to two parameters, intensity and concentration, and was inversely proportional to photo-sensor size. Integrated LOC consists of optical-filter deposited photo-sensor and PDMS microchannel detected 50 (pg/${mu}ell$) rhodamine. For integrated LOC including light source, we used green LED as the light source and measured emitted fluorescence.

닌히드린 용액의 저온 건조에 의한 프롤린 검출을 위한 종이기반 센서의 분해능 개선 (Improved Resolution of Paper-based Sensor for Proline Detection by Low-temperature Drying of Ninhydrin Solution)

  • In this study, we describe the improvement of the resolution of a paper-based sensor by fabricating a high-concentration ninhydrin part using a low-temperature drying method to detect proline with high resolution. In the conventional paper-based sensor for detecting proline, the ninhydrin part is fabricated at room temperature, and in this process, the ninhydrin solution spreads around the ninhydrin part. Therefore, the concentration of the ninhydrin part becomes lower than that of the applied solution, lowering the resolution of the sensor. The proposed paper-based sensor better improved the sensitivity of the sensor compared to the existing sensor by fabricating a high-concentration ninhydrin part through drying the ninhydrin solution using a low-temperature drying method. Owing to the experiment, the intensity of the green color of the paper-based sensor with the integrated ninhydrin part fabricated at 10 ℃ is approximately 20% lower than the paper-based sensor with an integrated ninhydrin part fabricated at room temperature, indicating better sensor resolution. Therefore, the paper-based sensor with an integrated ninhydrin part fabricated at a high concentration could be useful for diagnosing drought.

무선센서네트워크 기반 온실환경 모니터링 시스템 구현 (Implementation of Greenhouse Environment Monitoring System based on Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선센서네트워크 기술을 활용하여 각종 생장환경 정보들을 수집하고 모니터링 할 수 있는 무선센서네트워크 기반의 온실환경 모니터링 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 또한, 원격지에서 온실 시설내 내부 환경 및 시설제어시스템을 통합 제어 관리하기 위한 시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 시스템은 넓은 온실 내부의 환경 데이터 수집 및 온실 시설 제어 서비스를 제공함은 물론 무선센서네트워크 기반 온실환경 모니터링 시스템 및 온실시설 제어를 통하여 실시간 원격 온실 통합 서비스 제공이 가능하다. 통합관리시스템을 위한 GUI 구현은 HMI기반의 시스템 모니터링부로 설계하였으며, 센서정보들은 실시간으로 통합관리시스템의 모니터링 화면을 통해 센서 결과값을 출력할 수 있음을 결과로 얻을 수 있었다.

Coreless Hall Current Sensor for Automotive Inverters Decoupling Cross-coupled Field

  • Automotive inverters may require current sensors for motor torque control, especially, in applications of hybrid electric vehicles or fuel cell vehicles. In this paper, to achieve a compact, integrated and low cost current sensor, a hall current sensor without magnetic core is introduced for integrating an automotive inverter. The compactness of the current sensor is possible by using integrated magnetic concentrators based on the Hall effect. Magnetic fields caused by three-phase currents are analyzed and a magnetic shield design is proposed for decoupling the cross-coupled field. It offers galvanic isolation, wide bandwidth (>100kHz), and accuracy(< 1%). Using 2D FEM analysis, its performance is demonstrated with design parameters at a U-shaped magnetic shield. The proposed coreless current sensor is tested with rated current to validate the linearity and accuracy.

Design of Circuit for a Fingerprint Sensor Based on Ridge Resistivity

  • This paper proposes an advanced signal processing circuit for a fingerprint sensor based on ridge resistivity. A novel fingerprint integrated sensor using ridge resistivity variation resulting from ridges and valleys on the fingertip is presented. The pixel level simple detection circuit converts from a small and variable sensing current to binary voltage out effectively. The sensor circuit blocks were designed and simulated in a standard CMOS 0.35 ${\mu}m$ process.

  • Distributed piezoelectric sensor and actuator have been designed for efficient vibration control of a cantilevered beam. Both PZT and PVDF are used in this study, the former as an actuator and the latter as a sensor for our integrated structure. For the PZT actuator, the position and size have been optimized. Optimal electrode shape of the PVDF sensor has been determined. For multi-mode vibration control, we have used two PZT actuators and a PVDF sensor. Electrode shading of PVDF is more powerful for modal force adjustment than the sizing and positioning of PZT. Finite element method is used to model the structure that includes the PZT actuator and the PVDF sensor. By deciding on or off of each PZT segment, the length and the location of the PZT actuator are optimize. Considering both of the host structure and the optimized actuators, it is designed that the active electrode width of PVDF sensor along the span of the beam. Actuator design is based on the criterion of minimizing the system energy in the control modes under a given initial condition. Sensor is designed to minimize the observation spill-over. Modal control forces for the residual(uncontrolled) modes have been minimized during the sensor design. COSMOS: A Middleware for Integrated Data Processing over Heterogeneous Sensor Networks

  • With the increasing need for intelligent environment monitoring applications and the decreasing cost of manufacturing sensor devices, it is likely that a wide variety of sensor networks will be deployed in the near future. In this environment, the way to access heterogeneous sensor networks and the way to integrate various sensor data are very important. This paper proposes the common system for middleware of sensor networks (COSMOS), which provides integrated data processing over multiple heterogeneous sensor networks based on sensor network abstraction called the sensor network common interface. Specifically, this paper introduces the sensor network common interface which defines a standardized communication protocol and message formats used between the COSMOS and sensor networks.

  • Surface Acoustic Wave(SAW) devices can be used to as wireless sensor elements, called SAW transponders, for measuring shysical quantities such as temperature that do not need any power supply and may be accessed wirelessly. SAW devices were fabricated on Y-Z $LiNbO_3$ piezoelectric substrate with a good temperature coefficient property. The signal response of SAW sensor on the temperature change were compared. To measure the change of SAW velocity. Temperature changed form $20^{\circ}C$ to $400^{\circ}C$ was linearly changed, the SAW sensor is application to the temperature sensor.
