Integrated sliding mode and adaptive control of nonlinear systems with guaranteed tracking performances

  • This paper presents an integrated sliding mode adaptive control scheme for general nonlinear uncertain systems, where structured uncertainty is assumed can be linearly parameterized and unstructured uncertainty is assumed be bounded by unknown constant A certain estimation scheme for this unknown constant is introduced to attenuate the unstructured uncertainty. Presented control scheme is shown to be stable and numerical expressions of bounds of all error signals are given, from which we can acquire some useful information about practical trade-off between tracking performance and parameter estimation property.

  • An intelligent integrated control system is designed for the active steering and the left/right traction force distribution control of electric vehicles, where input-output linearization is employed. Also, a fuzzy-rule-based cornering force estimator is suggested to avoid using an uncertain highly nonlinear expression, and a neural network compensator is additively utilized for the estimator to correctly find cornering forece. With these techniques, the proposed control system is shown by simulation results to be robust against drastic change of the external environments such as road conditions.

  • In this paper, various growth environment data collecting and monitoring based on wireless sensor network for greenhouse environmental monitoring system is designed and implemented. In addition, greenhouse control system is proposed to integrated control and management in internal environment and greenhouse facilities. The system provides real-time remote greenhouse integrated management service which collects greenhouse environment information and controls greenhouse facilities based on wireless sensor network. Graphical user interface for an integrated management system is designed based on the HMI and the experimental results show that the sensor data were collected by integrated management in real-time.

The Effects of an Integrated Management Program on Climacteric Symptoms and Depression in Middle-aged Women (통합 관리프로그램이 중년기 여성의 갱년기 증상과 우울에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of an integrated management program on climacteric symptoms and depression in middle-aged women. Methods: A nonequivalent control-group design was used. The subjects consisted of 65 middle-aged women with climacteric symptoms. The experimental group (n=33) participated in the program for six 60-min sessions. To measure the climacteric symptoms and depression level of the subjects, two self-reporting questionnaires were used. Data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 17.0 program. Results: The women in the experimental group reported the average score of 13.80 in climacteric symptoms, 14.38 in depression. The hypothesis that the climacteric symptoms of experimental group would be reduced more than that of the control group was supported (t=3.92, p<.001): physical symptoms (t=4.04, p<.001); psychological symptoms (t=1.80, p=.077); sexual symptoms (t=2.85, p=.006). The second hypothesis that the degree of depression of the experimental group who used the integrated climacteric symptoms management program would be reduced more than that of the control group was also supported (t=2.30, p=.02). Conclusion: The integrated management program for middle-aged women with climacteric symptoms was effective in reducing their climacteric symptoms and depression level.

  • BIM technologies store, share and integrate the information produced in each sector of the construction industry. From this point on, it increases the efficiency of the work. Currently, quantity take-off and process schedule are derived separately based on BIM technology. When calculating the quantity by process, relevant information shall be collected, reinterpreted, and reevaluated as required by the practice. The purpose of this study is to develop an integrated process and quantity management system through BIM collaboration and to build prototypes for steel structures. The main research is to build a construction BIM model for steel structures and a process BIM model through BIM collaboration. Furthermore, necessary information was selected and processed according to the user's needs for integrated management. Relevant integration outcomes are visualized graphically to maximize utilization. Through these studies, a system for integrated control of processes and supplies is provided, and the results are expected to contribute to the improvement of working efficiency and are easily and quickly reflected in design change and process change. In this study, we intended to enhance the usability of information by linking process schedules with quantity calculations based on BIM. Thus, the process for integrated control of the quantity of structural components by process unit and the BIM based schedule information was established. In addition, the efficiency of the information link of the integrated management system was considered for design changes and process schedule changes.

The Effects of Music and Science Integrated Activities Using Instruments on the Musical Concept and Science Inquiry Process Skill (악기를 활용한 음악.과학 통합활동이 유아의 음악적 개념 및 과학적 과정기술에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper investigated the effect of music and science integrated activities using instruments designed to test both musical concept and science inquiry process skills of children. The subjects of this study consisted of two classes of children aged 5 at H Kindergarten in Busan city. This study involved a class of 31 children using a music and science integrated curriculum as the experimental group and another class of 32 children using a traditional music and science curriculum as the control group. The integrated activities were used 12 times over a 6-week period. A test was taken to evaluate the effects of the integrated activities on the children's understanding on seven sub-categories of musical concepts and six sub-categories of science inquiry process skills. The results were that the experimental group showed significantly higher improvements in all subcategories of musical concept and science inquiry process skills, compared to the control group. Based on these results, we concluded that these integrated activities were effective in the development of both musical concepts and the science inquiry process skills of children.

Vibration Suppression Control for an Articulated Robot;Effects of Model-Based Control Integrated into the Position Control Loop

  • This paper deals with a control technique of eliminating the transient vibration with respect to a waist axis of an articulated robot. This control technique is based on a model-based control in order to establish the damping effect on the driven mechanical part. The control model is composed of reduced-order electrical and mechanical parts related to the velocity control loop. The parameters of the control model can be obtained from design data or experimental data. This model estimates a load speed converted to the motor shaft. The difference between the estimated load speed and the motor speed is calculated dynamically, and it is added to the velocity command to suppress the transient vibration. This control method is applied to an articulated robot regarded as a time-invariant system. The effectiveness of the model-based control integrated into the position control loop is verified by simulations. Simulations show satisfactory control results to reduce the transient vibration at the end-effector.

Reducing Rekeying Time Using an Integrated Group Key Agreement Scheme

  • With the requirement for providing multiple levels of access control for group members, many group key management schemes designed for hierarchical access control have been put forward. However, most of these schemes focus on the efficiency of group key establishment and rekeying in centralized environments. This paper proposes an integrated group key agreement (IGK) scheme for contributory environments. The IGK scheme employs the integrated key graph to remove key redundancies existing in single key trees, and reduces key establishment and rekeying time while providing hierarchical access control. Performance analyses and simulations conducted with respect to computation and communication overheads indicate that our proposed IGK scheme is more efficient than the independent group key agreement scheme.

  • In an integrated steel mill, zinc (Zn) inputs from raw materials and steel scrap are enriched in the dusts and sludges collected from gas and water cleaning systems. The reuse of these dusts and sludges must be controlled within certain limit to avoid Zn accumulation and related operational problems in blast furnace. An integrated system has been established at China Steel Corporation (CSC) to enhance the internal reuse of Zn-containing dust/sludge while keeping Zn input within control lim it. However. the performance of this system has not been very satisfactory until one and half years ago when a rationalization process was initiated. The essence of this rationalization process, the recent improvements in Zn control and dust and sludge reuse are reported and discussed.

  • DTG(dynamically tuned gyroscope) is a sensor detecting disturbance in angle velocity control loop of EOTS(electro optical tracking system), which is used for the stabilization of gimbal. DTG is classified into rate mode or rate integrated mode according to operating mode. In this paper, basic principles and characteristics of DTG, depending on to operating mode, are compared and the model of rate integrated mode DTG is proposed. Also, the validity of the presented model is verified by computer simulations and experiments.
