Adapt ive and fixed step size PC (power control) schemes for accommodating voice, video, and data are evaluated according to the different PC command rates and their effects on integrated Voice/Video/Data are investigated. The required minimum power levels are derived as PC thresholds and the effects of PC errors on channel quality and radio 1 ink capacity are investigated. The services with high bit rates and low bit error rates can cause a significant effect on the radio link qualifies of the other types of traffic. The results show that the adapt ive step size PC scheme for voice/video/data services can achieve more capacity and cause less interference to the radio channels because less minimum PIL(Power Increment Level) is required for the specified radio link outage probability.

The article attempts to explore community change perceived by participants result from The Integrated Program for Infant and Young Children, a program operated by the Community Chest. The participants expressed and shared their experiences through photos and discussions using the Photo-voice method under the theme of 'community life, its meaning and change'. The main themes were 1. In the past, 'community life,' non-meaningful space; 2. Now, we have shared identity, 'You are not alone'; 3. Our village which is a new place in my life. The article also may suggest issues on both community intervention for early children development program and organization for fosterers as social capital. Additionally, photo-voice method enabled participants to find the way to restructure their community from non-place to place. There were three stages, the first was to reflect on their community, the second was to re-inhabit in the community, and the last was to restore the community.

Multi rate circuit switching ISDN which assumes a star topology consisting of LANs(local area networks) interconnected through a backbone MAN (metropolitan area network) is considered. The stations are classified into two categories data and voice stations they are characterized by different arrival rate and session-length (holding time) statistics. We first model the data and voice terminals as finite-source stations and derive analytically exact expressions for the end-to-end blocking probabilities. For more exact evaluation, these probabilities are calculated in terms of three components:circuit blocking probability, destination busy probability and concurrent busy probability. For large size systems, we develop an develop an iterative algorithm that provides a computationally efficient and fast method for the calculation of the end-to-end blocking probabilities.

Recently in telecommunication, BISDN ( Broadband Integrated Service Digital Network ) has received considerable attention for its capability of providing a common interface for future communication needs including voice, data and video. Since all information in BISDN are statistically multiplexed and are transported in high speed by means of discrete units of 53-octet ATM ( asynchronous Transfer Mode ) cells, appropriate traffic control needs. For traffic shaping of voice, the output cell discarding scheme has been proposed. We analyze the scheme with a MMPP/$D_1$, $D_2$/1/B queueing system to obtain performance measures such as loss probability and waiting time distribution.

In this paper, the Packet CDMA Reservation ALOHA protocol is proposed to support the multi-traffic services such as voice and videophone services with handoff calls, high-rate data and low-rate data services efficiently on the multi-rate transmission in uplink cellular systems. The frame structure, composed of the access slot and the transmission slot, and the proposed access permission probability based on the estimated number of contending users for each service are presented to reduce MAI. The assured priority to the voice and the videophone handoff calls is given through higher access permission probability. And through the proposed code assignment scheme, the voice service can be provided without the voice packet dropping probability in the CDMA/PRMA protocols. The code reservation is allowed to the voice and the videophone services. The low-rate data service uses the available codes during the silent periods of voice calls and the remaining codes in the codes assigned to the voice service to utilize codes efficiently. The high-rate data service uses the assigned codes to the high-rate data service and the remaining codes in the codes assigned to the videophone service. Using the Markov-chain subsystem model for each service including the handoff calls in uplink cellular systems, the steady-state performances are simulated and analyzed. After a round of tests for the examples, through the proposed code assignment scheme and the access permission probability, the Packet CDMA Reservation ALOHA protocol can guarantee the priority and the constant QoS for the handoff calls even at large number of contending users. Also, the data services are integrated efficiently on the multi-rate transmission.

In this paper several access schemes for voice and data packet over CPCH with waiting time signalling are proposed. Waiting time signalling is used for reducing the excessive attempt of UE when all the CPCH channel resources is being used by other UEs. The proposed schemes in this paper are better than other schemes in view of the voice/data packets? dropping probability, average access attempt to transmit voice/data packets successfully and the average throughput.

Packet Reservation Multiple Access(PRMA) protocol provides a very efficient mechanism for many number of voice and data terminals with bursty traffic characteristics to share efficiently a common transmission channel. This protocol, however, cannot operate in high load conditions. That is, there occurs a instability problem, since the reservation channel is allowed to shrink to zero. In this paper, a more stable PRMA protocol which can avoid such problems and integrates voice and data traffic efficiently is proposed. Also, the performance of the proposed protocol is analyzed by a computer simulation. According to the simulation results, it can be shown that the proposed protocol provides a more efficient mechanism for voice/data integration and ensures a more stable operation than conventional PRMA protocol in high load conditions.

The received signal of a mobile phone is normally sensed through two independent means which are the sound generation of a speaker and vibration generation of a vibration motor. As an improvement scheme to meet the consumer's demand on weight reduction and miniaturization of a mobile phone, the design and development of an integrated vibration and sound generating device are performed in this research. To this purpose, the optimal shapes of the voice coil. the permanent magnet and the vibration plate are designed, and the excitation force applied to the vibration system of the new device is estimated and verified through theoretical analyses, computer simulation, and experiments using an expanded model. In addition, vibration performance comparison of the device with the existing vibration motor is performed, and from the overall process, therefore, the method and procedure for the vibration performance analysis of the integrated vibration and sound generating device are established.

Integrated management model (SNMP/SMI) for lubiquitous egacy remote communication network or service make possible combination of various architecture. However, legacy management system cannot be applied some problems such as inefficient, complexly, implement and large network by reason of integration of voice and data, wired and wireless, and service area between service provider. For improve this, supplied JMX(Java Management eXtensions) on network management technology from SUN. JMX is integrated architecture for existing network management and monitoring. In this paper, we design and implement for integrated network management through multi-protocol agent using JMX.

This study aims at exploring features of Korean university students' written text, focusing on the written voice, rhetorical patterns, and writing practices through English letters. The data comprised examples of students' English job applications, and a 'purpose-will' model was adopted for the data analysis. The findings showed that the students used unique ways of strategies to convey their voice in a recontextualized setting. Their written voice in the job applications were various, and nobody applied the Korean convention of weather opening. Their rhetorical patterns were a transformation from convergence to divergence, showing integrated patterns of written voice. Students' writing practices revealed their internal values of writing for a task, and they do not directly learn from the teacher's syllabus. This supports the sociocultural framework that learning is a situated activity in a specific discourse community. The study concludes that writing teachers should understand that life-world and learning experience can impact on students' written voice and practices.
