  • Over the past generation, data warehousing and online analytical processing (OLAP) applications have become the cornerstone of contemporary decision support environments. Typically, OLAP servers are implemented on top of either proprietary array-based storage engines (MOLAP) or as extensions to conventional relational DBMSs (ROLAP). While MOLAP systems do indeed provide impressive performance on common analytics queries, they tend to have limited scalability. Conversely, ROLAP's table oriented model scales quite nicely, but offers mediocre performance at best relative to the MOLAP systems. In this paper, we describe a storage and indexing framework that aims to provide both MOLAP like performance and ROLAP like scalability by essentially combining some of the best features from both. Based upon a combination of R-trees and bitmap indexes, the storage engine has been integrated with a robust OLAP query engine prototype that is able to fully exploit the efficiency of the proposed storage model. Specifically, it utilizes an OLAP algebra coupled with a domain specific query optimizer, to map user queries directly to the storage and indexing framework. Experimental results demonstrate that not only does the design improve upon more naive approaches, but that it does indeed offer the potential to optimize both query performance and scalability.

  • A Web-based pile load test (WBPLT) system was developed and implemented in this study. Object-oriented and concept-based software design techniques were adopted to integrate the pile load test database into the system. A total of 673 case histories of pile load test were included in the database. The data consisted of drilled shaft and driven precast concrete pile axial load tests in drained, undrained, and gravel loading conditions as well as pre-analyzed data and back-calculated design parameters. Unified modeling language, a standard software design tool, was utilized to design the WBPLT system architecture with five major concept-based components. These components provide the static structure and dynamic behavior of system message flows in a visualized manner. The open-source Apache Web server is the building block of the WBPLT system, and PHP Web programming language implements the operation of the WBPLT components, particularly the automatic translation of user query into structured query language. A simple search and inexpensive query can be implemented through the Internet browser. The pile load test database is helpful, and data can be easily retrieved and utilized worldwide for research and advanced applications.

  • Recently that require digital signatures handwritten for personal use customer information and agree to the Terms of Service agreement or a general sign up. Signature system including an existing handwritten signature are a problem, which may be a platform-dependent, as well as the environment in which to perform the signature vary according to device Status of presence because it is being utilized is implemented on the service platform itself within each company. In this paper, we designed and implemented an integrated system handwritten signature as possible using a cross-browser way to store the handwritten two-dimensional coordinates based on the jQuery it is interspecific directly integrated browser environment. iOS, Android, was tested in an integrated web browser in heterogeneous environments, including PC, it was confirmed that all handwritten signature function is working properly.

  • In this paper, we present an object-based modeling and language for an object-oriented spatio-temporal database system. For handling the structure of spatio-temporal objects and the spatio-temporal operators, we propose the two layers of data modeling: a spatio-temporal object model (STOM) and an spatio_temporal internal description model (STIM). We then propose STOQL, a spatio-temporal object-oriented query language. STOQL provides an integrated mechanism for the graphical display of spatial objects and the retrieval of spatio-temporal and aspatial objects.

  • The volume of genomic data is constantly increasing in various modern industries and research fields. This growth presents new challenges and opportunities in terms of the quantity and diversity of genetic data. In this paper, we propose a distributed cloud system for integrating and managing large-scale gene databases. By introducing a distributed data storage and processing system based on the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), various formats and sizes of genomic data can be efficiently integrated. Furthermore, by leveraging Spark on YARN, efficient management of distributed cloud computing tasks and optimal resource allocation are achieved. This establishes a foundation for the rapid processing and analysis of large-scale genomic data. Additionally, by utilizing BigQuery ML, machine learning models are developed to support genetic search and prediction, enabling researchers to more effectively utilize data. It is expected that this will contribute to driving innovative advancements in genetic research and applications.

  • We need a research for representing and processing of multimedia data in database because of increasing the importance and utilization of the data owing to development of internet technology. RDBMS supports only the storing-structure to store multimedia, but the support for data type, representation and query of multimedia is insufficient. To cope with this problem, ISO/IEC standardized SQL multimedia(SQL/MM) for multimedia data. However, ORDBMS supports SQL/MM, but RDBMS does not support it. Therfore, this theis proposes a query interpreter to support SQL/MM in MS-SQL 2000 as one of RDBMS and introduces a image retrieval application using it. The quary interpreter supports the function to convert SQL/MM into SQL, and additionally the function of the image duplication check. The image processing application using a query interpreter can easily be integrated and operated with traditional RDBMS-based system.

  • Although, a number of DBMS vendors are scrambling to extend their products to handle XML, there is a need for a lightweight, DBMS and platform-independent XML repository as well. In this paper, we describe such an XML integrated repository system, that solves the following functions : generating relational schema from XML DTDs for storage of XML documents, importing data from XML documents into relational tables, creating XML documents according to a XMLQL(XML Query Language) from data extracted from a database and synchronizing the replicated XML documents. In the XML repository systems, the efficient change detection techniques for XML documents is required to maintain the consistency of replicated XML data because the same data in the repository can be replicated between so many different XML documents. In this paper, we propose a message digest based change detection technique to maintain the consistency of replicated data between client XML documents and a XML data in XML repository systems.

  • Motif databases are used in the function and structure prediction of proteins which appear on new and rapid release of raw data from genome sequencing projects. Recently, the frequency of use about these databases increases continuously. However, existing motif databases were developed and extended independently and were integrated mainly by using a web-based cross-reference, thus these databases have a heterogeneous search result problem, a complex query process problem and a duplicate database entry handling problem. Therefore, in this paper, we suppose physical motif resource integration and describe the integrated search method about a family-based protein prediction for solving above these problems. Finally, we estimate our implementation of the motif integration database and prediction system for predicting protein motifs.

  • It has been commonly accepted for a while that a successful tool environment must provide for smooth interfaces between its tools. Recent integrated CASE environment must be-based on well-integrated data repository which supports a tightly coupled, consistent environment. For the maintenance tool, it requires a careful design of the maintenance chest's database. Information about a program exists in many different forms after analyses have been performed. It must be possible to associate and select objects for data repository from this information as necessary. This paper suggests a new integrated scheme for the data repository in building software maintenancec environment. The scheme provides many basic services, including storage and management of objects/entities and links/ relations; version and configuration control, query service, data interchange service.

  • Mashup service provides results by query in real time and responds to users' request in dynamic. In terms of size, each of NIKH(National Institute of Korean History)'s internal Information Systems is equal to individual library system. As adapting mashup for information convergence with external resources, it was accepted for internal integrated search in the same context. This study designated NIKH OpenAPI and proposed metadata format for internal integrated search of historical contents.
