The Experimental Analysis of Integrated (Name/Property) Dynamic Binding Service Model for Wide-Area Objects Computing (광역 객체 컴퓨팅에서 통합(이름/속성) 기반의 동적 바인딩 서비스 모델의 실험분석)

  • Many objects existing on wide area environments have the replication characteristics according to how to categorize using their own names or properties. From the clients' requests, the existing naming and trading services have not supported with the binding service for replicated solver object with the same service type. For this reason, we present an integrated model that can support the selection of replicated object and dynamic binding services on wide-area computing environments. This model suggests provides not only location management of replicated objects but also active binding service which enables to select a least-loaded object on the system to keep the balance of load between systems. In this purpose, constructing both the service plan and model for support solver object's binding with replication property on wide area computing environments has been researched. In this paper, we showed the test environment and analyzed the performance evaluation of client/server binding procedures via integrated binding service in federation model and verified our model under the condition to see whether load balance can be applied to our model. For the performance evaluation of suggested wide area integrated binding service federation model, evaluated the integrated binding service of each domain and analyzed the performance evaluation of process for non-replication object's under federation model environment. Also, we analyzed the performance evaluation of the federation model between domains for wide area environment. From the execution results, we showed the federation model provides lowers search-cost on the physical tree structure of network.

  • In this paper, we consider an integrated inventory system where a single supplier purchases and processes raw materials in order to deliver finished goods to a single buyer for effective implementation of Just-In-Time purchasing. An integrated JIT lot-splitting model of facilitating multiple shipments in small lots is developed in a JIT purchasing environment. Also, an iterative solution procedure is developed to find the order quantity for the finished goods and raw materials, and the number of shipments between buyer and supplier. We show by example that the integrated policy adopted by both buyer and supplier in a cooperative manner can provide them a greater economic benefit than seeking the local optimal inventory policy independently.

  • Urban flooding with surcharges in sewer system was investigated because of unexpected torrential storm events these days, causing significant amounts of human and economic damages. Although there are limitations in forecasting and preventing natural disasters, integrated urban flooding management system using the SWMM engine and Web technology will be an effective tool in securing safety in operating Bi-modal transportation system. In addition, the integrated urban flooding management system can be linked with general and transportation-related disaster management system in the future. In this study, With simulated values by the SWMM, which is a core engine of the Bi-modal disaster management system, flash flooding area estimation module was developed. Thus, the SWMM system codes were modified and new module was developed and integrated with the existing SWMM interface using the Delphi programming language. The flash flooding area estimation module is fully integrated with the SWMM interface, thus the area is estimated on-the-fly inside the system.

  • This paper studies small and medium sized financial agency's management states that take advantage of the Korea Federation of Saving Bank's data. It also presents the management state and the decision-making model that monitors progressive insolvency by standardizing transfer path between relevant groups. With this in mind, we extracted explanatory variables for predictions of insolvency by using existing studies of document related insolvency. First of all, we designed a state model based on demarcated groups to take advantage of the self organizing map that groups in line with a neural network. Secondly, we developed a transition model by standardizing the transfer path between individual banks in a state model. Finally, we presented a decision-making model that integrated the state model and the transition model. This paper will provide groundwork for methods of insolvency prevention to businesses in order for them to have a smooth management system in the financial agencies.

  • The e-Government in Korea has made such good results as improvement of official work productivity and citizen service quality. However, e-Government in Korea involves many problems and subjects to must solve, especially, at the side of citizen services. Every public organization as supplier provides each service of themselves to the civilians. Citizens feel inconvenience yet, because they must visit and are supplied various civil services to one public affair from several public institutions. When we consider the paradigm shift of the e-Government service, the status and problems of the e-Government in Korea required more better service model to the citizen. To realize the citizen oriented service, the integration and linkage of the system infrastructure and applications among governmental organizations are required. In this changed situation, when new one/non-stop service model of the digital government is developed and launched, the e-Government can supply better service to the citizens. In this study, the model that we suggest is among the new service models of the e-Government, named the Integrated Civil Service Model. The e-Government involving the Integrated Civil Service Model can make more outcome, such as better civil life convenience, cost-effective results by processing time and cost reduction for public affairs of citizens.

A Curriculum Development on the Disaster Management (재해관리에 대한 교육과정 개발)

  • The various and serious types of disaster occur everyday and everywhere on the earth. There is no doubt that it is very timely to discuss about the effectiveness and preparedness of disaster. The purpose of this study is to develop a curriculum on the disaster management through reviewing disaster concepts and the disaster management system. For the empirical relevance of the study, researchers participated in a couple or more disaster training program, reviewed references, and consulted to the experts working on action parts in the area. As a result, the 'Integrated Disaster Management System Model (IDMSM)' was designed, in which four dimensions were explained. Then the 'Disaster Curriculum Model (DCM)' was explored with its theoretical framework based on the system model. The developed curriculum is composed of four levels ; the introductory course, the fundamental course, the advanced course, and the expert course. From this DCM, basically the course-outlines of two subjects in the introductory course, 18 subjects in the fundamental course (5 of direct services. 13 of indirect services) were developed. Also each course-outline was explored by its course objective, learning objectives, contents, and its length. Finally to make the most of the results, suggestions are proposed. The governmental considerations on the policy should support the systematic and integrated educational program to practice, appointing 「Disaster School」 or 「Disaster Training Center」 of relevance and accountabilities. The further study should explore the higher levels of the DCM through interdisciplinary efforts, and develop the text aterials. ilities. A Delphi Approach to the Development of an Integrated Performance Measurement and Management Model for a Car Assembler

  • Today's dynamic competitiveness requires an organization to improve its performance measurement and management. Quality Management Systems (QMS) abound, the main ones being: ISO series, Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award (MBNQA), European Forum for Quality Management (EFQM), Six Sigma Business Scorecard and the Balanced Scorecard. Based on the literature, the IPMMM (Integrated Performance Measurement and Management Model) identified 7 key synthesized factors: leadership, strategy management and policy, customer and market, learning and growth, partnership and resources, internal processes and business results that are employed to investigate the key performance indicators of a car assembler using the Delphi methodology. In the 2 rounds of Delphi panels consisting of 20 senior management personnel, the $1^{st}$ round of 198 indicators in the IPMMM yielded 90 indicators. The $2^{nd}$ round yielded 43 performance indicators with 18 rated as critical based on the % assigned in the $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ priority rating of "very important factor" and "key performance indicator" that must be ranked high on both of the priorities. The very critical indicators appeared to be: defect percentage and first time capability (tie in $1^{st}$ place) and revenue, goal setting, customer satisfaction index, on-time delivery, brand image, return on investment, Claim Occurrence Ratio, and debt being ranked from $3^{rd}$ to $10^{th}$. It can be surmised that an organization can identify and develop an appropriate set of performance indicators through the Delphi methodology and implement and manage them based on the Balanced Scorecard.

  • In the process of urban development, the increase in the number and the complexity of urban facilities gives rise to a variety of problems, such as increase in construction and maintenance cost. In particular, taking into account the fact that an emergency situation in an urban facility can cause substantial loss of property as well as casualties, it becomes important to intelligently perceive states of facilities and properly execute countermeasures through real-time monitoring. In recent years, practitioners and researchers have made efforts to improve current passive and manpower-dependent facility management systems to be more active and intelligent, by applying diverse ubiquitous computing technologies for the u-City project. In this study, after discussing major drawbacks of the conventional facilities management, the concept and the model of a sensor-based integrated intelligent management system for urban facilities are proposed. The proposed model, by analyzing and processing real-time sensor data from urban facilities, not only supports the management of individual facilities, but also enables the detection of complex facility-related events and the process of their countermeasures. This active and intelligent management of urban facilities is expected to overcome the limitation of the conventional facilities management, and provide more suitable facility management services for the u-City development.

  • This study studied the working relationship between national crisis management and national defense elements from a comprehensive security perspective. The elements of national defense are presented in the Integrated Defense Act. Therefore, by presenting the principles, problems, and alternatives of integrated defense, the study was conducted with the aim of protecting the lives and property of the people in the event of a national crisis and strengthen national security. As a theoretical background, an analysis frame was envisioned based on the four stages of crisis management in the 'Comprehensive Crisis Management Model' and the 'Basic Guidelines for National Crisis Management'. Through this, four domestic and foreign case studies were conducted. As a result of the study, it can be confirmed that related laws, organizations, and public awareness must be provided in order for the national defense elements at each stage of national crisis management to work well. For the completeness of national crisis management, it was suggested that the enactment of the Framework Act on National Crisis Management, the establishment of an integrated defense plan, linked training, C4I for communication, strengthening the capabilities of local government heads, and national defense elements of firefighters.

  • A established military security tast based on existing manual and off-line needs the change and development to support effective and systematic task performance according to environment change of informational and scientific project in the military. Therefore this study suggests to set up the standard model of the defense integrated security system to automate and informationize major defense security task based on actual and problem in the area of major defense of security task and case analysis of these in America, England and other countries. The standard model consist of unit systems were made up integrated security system, security management system, man entrance system, vehicle entrance system, high-tech guard system, terror prevention system and the security accident analysis system, and this suggested model based on possible technology and system. If this model is apply to each real military unit, we will expect the development of defense security.
