On Implementation of Integrated Maintenance System in Underwater Guided Weapon (수중유도무기의 통합정비체계 구축 방안에 관한 연구)

  • Maintenance equipments, tools, manuals and documents are needed to maintain the weapon systems. At the time, a lot of technical materials are maintained and used individually at a various places and organizations. Thus, maintenance engineers can not get the necessary informations quickly and the efficiency of maintenance was low. In this paper, first we analyze the maintenance processes in weapon systems and define the total measure to evaluate the maintenance efficiency of weapon systems. Second, we propose a implementation procedure to integrated maintenance system.

  • Generally the life-cycle cost of complex systems composed of several sub systems or equipments such as train, aircraft weapon systems is spent much more during operation and maintenance phase than development phase. The maintenance cost for maintaining the availability and extending the life span of systems comprise a large proportion of systems operation cost. The cycle of preventive maintenance affects operation and maintenance cost a lot. In this study we introduce a way minimizing life-cycle cost of systems by calculating more reliable preventive maintenance period than the results of previous study using systems reliability data considered the reliability and failure effect ratio of sub-systems or components. We can solve the preventive maintenance period problem known as NP-Hard as quick as possible by using modified genetic algorithm than using other models introduced in previous study.

  • Recently, government office buildings have become important in reducing maintenance costs. However, the loss of information raised a problem for maintenance work that could not meet the needs of users. Therefore, this study proposed a BIM-based integrated maintenance system for public offices in Jeju to efficiently maintenance work. The system can be integrated with IoT sensors, big data and artificial intelligence technologies to integrate information that occurs throughout the building's entire life cycle to exchange information. This system is also scalable to buildings, plants, region and urban infrastructure facilities as well as single buildings. It is expected that the system will provide reliable, high-quality, real-time information for efficient maintenance work, thereby supporting decision making and appropriate budget planning.

  • Recently as the manufacturers want competitiveness in dynamically changing environment, they are trying a lot of efforts to be efficient with their production systems, which may be achieved by diminishing unplanned operation stops. The operation stops and maintenance cost are known to be significantly decreased by adopting proper maintenance strategy. Therefore, the manufacturers were more getting interested in scheduling of exact maintenance scheduling to keep smooth operation and prevent unexpected stops. In this paper, we proposedan integrated maintenance approach in injection molding manufacturing line. It consists of predictive and preventive maintenance approach. The predictive maintenance uses the statistical process control technique with the real-time data and the preventive maintenance is based on the checking period of machine components or equipment. For the predictive maintenance approach, firstly, we identified components or equipment that are required maintenance, and then machine parameters that are related with the identified components or equipment. Second, we performed regression analysis to select the machine parameters that affect the quality of the manufactured products and are significant to the quality of the products. By this analysis, we can exclude the insignificant parameters from monitoring parameters and focus on the significant parameters. Third, we developed the statistical prediction models for the selected machine parameters. Current models include regression, exponential smoothing and so on. We used these models to decide abnormal patternand to schedule maintenance. Finally, for other components or equipment which is not covered by predictive approach, we adoptedpreventive maintenance approach. To show feasibility we developed an integrated maintenance support system in LabView Watchdog Agent and SQL Server environment and validated our proposed methodology with experimental data.

  • The configuration such as series, parallel and k-out-of-n of a repairable system directly affects its reliability. The maintenance strategy can also affect the overall performance of the system. The objective of this work is to investigate the possible trade-off between the configuration of a repairable k-out-of-n system and its maintenance strategy. The redundancy is considered to be the design decision variables, whereas the preventive maintenance period is considered to be the maintenance decision variables. The optimization model is used to minimize the overall life cycle cost associated with the system, considering constraint on reliability. Finally, genetic algorithm is used to find the optimal values for the decision variables. The result is compared with optimal values for considering redundancy and maintenance respectively.

  • Condition-based maintenance (CBM) has been used as a useful concept for optimizing maintenance plan and decreasing maintenance cost in several kinds of plant sites. This study introduced an example that developed an integrated management system for maintenance parameters and hydraulic turbine of hydro-power plant in order to improve its maintenance system as applying CBM techinique. The integrated management system consists of three parts. One is a hardware part including PDA inspection system and several kind of precision measuring instruments. Another is a vibration monitoring system on hydraulic turbine. The other is a software part that takes charge of making hierarchy tree of maintenance parameters and their inspection route, managing accumulated database, assessing health condition of components, and supporting interface with other enterprise management system. The system has been installed at Chuncheon Hydro-power plant for test and demonstration. It is expected that the system can contribute database construction for diagnostics and prognostics on facility health condition and systematic accumulation of know-how on operation and maintenance of plant.

  • Due to the deterioration of infrastructure, the importance of maintenance is continuously increasing. Therefore, an integrated maintenance method for various facilities is required. In this study, a maintenance priority determination method for integrated maintenance of roads and pipe network facilities was developed. It is possible to analyze attribute information by using GIS data of roads and pipe networks, and shape information can be used. This information is derived as quantitative figures for determining maintenance priorities. In the future, it is expected that facility maintenance can be further advanced in connection with maintenance method and quantity information for each facility.

  • Until recently, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) focused mainly on the development and acquisition of supportability factors (maintenance planning, maintenance tools, support equipment, supply support, maintenance training, etc.). In the long term, supportability strategies and policies are needed in terms of LEAN-like cost reduction, efficiency in the field of weapon systems. This study first introduces the concept of Lean, theory of Lean Maintenance and suggests Lean maintenance framework, maintenance strategy for ILS. The case studies were analyzed in terms of the maintenance time, maintenance man-hours, maintenance cost for Lean PM in a radar system. The direction of LEAN on supportability in a weapon system is suggested.
