This research proposed integrated expressway traffic management strategy using ramp metering and toll mainline metering. This research suggested a traffic signal optimization model for integrated operation of ramp and mainline metering based on Demand-Capacity Model that is used to optimize allowable input volume for ramp metering in FREQ model. The objective function of this model is sectional throughput volume maximization, and this model can calculate optimal signal timings for mainline metering and ramp metering. This study conducted an effectiveness analysis of integrated metering strategy using PARAMICS and its API. It targeted Seoul's Outer Ring Expressway between Gimpo and Siheung toll gate. As a simulation result, integrated operation of mainline and ramp metering provided more smooth traffic flow, and throughput volume of mainline increased to 14% in congested section. In addition, a queue of 400 meter was formed at metering point of toll gate. This research checked that integrated traffic management strategy facilitates more efficient traffic operation of mainline and ramp from diffused traffic congestion.
We report an electroabsorption modulator (EAM)-integrated distributed Bragg reflector laser diode (DBR-LD) capable of supporting a high data rate and a wide wavelength tuning. The DBR-LD contains two tuning elements, plasma and heater tunings, both of which are implemented in the DBR section, which have blue-shift and red-shift in the Bragg wavelength through a current injection, respectively. The light created from the DBR-LD is intensity-modulated through the EAM voltage, which is integrated monolithically with the DBRLD using a butt-joint coupling method. The fabricated chip shows a threshold current of approximately 8 mA, tuning range of greater than 30 nm, and static extinction ratio of higher than 20 dB while maintaining a side mode suppression ratio of greater than 40 dB under a window of 1550 nm. To evaluate its modulation properties, the chip was bonded onto a mount including a radiofrequency line and a load resistor showing clear eye openings at data rates of 25 Gb/s nonreturn-to-zero and 50 Gb/s pulse amplitude modulation 4-level, respectively.

This paper presents a technical method for flood estimation based on satellite rainfall and satellite rainfall correction method for watersheds lacking measurement data. The study area was the Sebou Watershed, Morocco. The Integrated Flood Analysis System(IFAS) and Grid-based Rainfall-Runoff Model(GRM) were applied to estimate watershed runoff. Daily rainfall from ground gauges and satellite-derived hourly data were used. In the runoff simulation using satellite rainfall data, the composites of the daily gauge rainfall and the hourly satellite data were applied. The Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission Digital Elevation Model(SRTM DEM) with a 90m spatial resolution and 1km resolution data from Global map land cover and United States Food and Agriculture Organization(US FAO) Harmonized World Soil Database(HWSD) were used. Underestimated satellite rainfall data were calibrated using ground gauge data. The simulation results using the revised satellite rainfall data were $5,878{\sim}7,434m^3/s$ and $6,140{\sim}7,437m^3/s$ based on the IFAS and GRM, respectively. The peak discharge during flooding of Sebou River Watershed in 2009~2010 was estimated to range from $5,800m^3/s$ to $7,500m^3/s$. The flood estimations from the two hydrologic models using satellite-derived rainfall data were similar. Therefore, the calibration method using satellite rainfall suggested in this study can be applied to estimate the flood discharge of watersheds lacking observational data.

A fully integrated cost-effective and low-power single chip Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery protection IC (BPIC) for portable devices is presented. The control unit of the battery protection system and the MOSFET switches are integrated in a single package to protect the battery from over-charge, over-discharge, and over-current. The proposed BPIC enters into low-power standby mode when the battery becomes over-discharged. A new auto release function (ARF) is adopted to release the BPIC from standby mode and safely return it to normal operation mode. A new delay shorten mode (DSM) is also proposed to reduce the test time without increasing pin counts. The BPIC implemented in a $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS process occupies an area of $750{\mu}m{\times}610{\mu}m$. With DSM enabled, the measured test time is dramatically reduced from 56.82 s to 0.15 s. The BPIC chip consumes $3{\mu}A$ under normal operating conditions and $0.45{\mu}A$ under standby mode.
The mass distribution and other related quantities were calculated by fitting the observed rotation curve(Davoust and de Vaucouleur 1980) to Brandt and Belton's mass distribution model. One of n values for mass model is determined as 1.5(Vm=95 $kms^{-1}$) and two pairs of them are determined as 0.8(Vm = 95$kms^{-1}$) and 2.0 and 0.8 (Vm = 55$kms^{-1}$) and 2.0 because of the hump in observed rotation curve. Total masses and integrated mass to luminosity ration are $1.8\times10^{10}M_\odot,\;1.5\times10^{10}M_\odot,\;1.4\times10^{10}M_\odot$, and 6.57, 5.33, 5.26 for three cases according to n values. Integrated mass to luminosity ratio in Holmberg radius is 3.44, 3.26, 3.00 in god agreement with the typical value of Sd type suggested by Faber and Gallagher(1979). Presented halo masses which are fifty percent of total masses and halo mass to luminosity ratios given as 75.83, 53.50, 58.75 are values less than Turner's(1976).

The system for re-identifying persons is used to find and verify the persons crossing through different spots using various cameras. Much research has been done to re-identify the person by utilising features with deep-learned or hand-crafted information. Deep learning techniques segregate and analyse the features of their layers in various forms, and the output is complex feature vectors. This paper proposes a distinctive framework called Integrated Level Feature Pattern (ILFP) framework, which integrates local and global features. A new deep learning architecture named modified XceptionNet (m-XceptionNet) is also proposed in this work, which extracts the global features effectively with lesser complexity. The proposed framework gives better performance in Rank1 metric for Market1501 (96.15%), CUHK03 (82.29%) and the newly created NEC01 (96.66%) datasets than the existing works. The mean Average Precision (mAP) calculated using the proposed framework gives 92%, 85% and 98%, respectively, for the same datasets.

Piezoelectric pressure sensors and pyroelectric infrared detectors based on ZnO thin film have been integrated with GaAs metal-semiconductor field effect transistor (MESFET) amplifiers. Surface micromachining techniques have been applied in a GaAs MESFET process to form both microsensors and electronic circuits. The on-chip integration of microsensors such as pressure sensors and infrared detectors with GaAs integrated circuits is attractive because of the higher operating temperature up to 200 oC for GaAs devices compared to 125 oC for silicon devices and radiation hardness for infrared imaging applications. The microsensors incorporate a 1${\mu}$m-thick sputtered ZnO capacitor supported by a 2${\mu}$m-thick aluminum membrane formed on a semi-insulating GaAs substrate. The piezoelectric pressure sensor of an area 80${\times}$80 ${\mu}$m2 designed for use as a miniature microphone exhibits 2.99${\mu}$V/${\mu}$ bar sensitivity at 400Hz. The voltage responsivity and the detectivity of a single infrared detector of an area 80${\times}$80 $\mu\textrm{m}$2 is 700 V/W and 6${\times}$108cm$.$ Hz/W at 10Hz respectively, and the time constant of the sensor with the amplifying circuit is 53 ms. Circuits using 4${\mu}$m-gate GaAs MESFETs are fabricated in planar, direct ion-implanted process. The measured transconductance of a 4${\mu}$m-gate GaAs MESFET is 25.6 mS/mm and 12.4 mS/mm at 27 oC and 200oC, respectively. A differential amplifier whose voltage gain in 33.7 dB using 4${\mu}$m gate GaAs MESFETs is fabricated for high selectivity to the physical variable being sensed.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the inner space of detached houses from 1980 to 2016. It was used 'space syntax program' for analysis and analyzed with intervals of 10 years as 1980~1990, 1990~2000 and so on. The research results will be summarized as follows: 1) Overall, all inner space that was examined shows a trend that integration space tends to increase while segregating space tends to decrease. 2) In the case of the master bedrooms(M B) in 1980s, these were composed of 2 rooms as a front room(F R) and a master bedroom type, but as time went by, the F R which was attached room to the M B disappeared. While inside space of M B attached powder-room and wardrobe instead of the F R of the M B. And F R was an integrated space at first in 1980s, but it began to change to a segregating space to protect personal privacy. 3) The dining(D) and kitchen(K) spaces were strictly separated in the 1980s but began to change to D+K and L+D+K types after 1990. 4) In the 2000s, the most typical living space in every house is continuing to change from an separate space in the other space to an integrated space where it is clearly seen from the kitchen and the dining room in the types as L+D and L+D+K.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of STEAM-based research and education (STEAM R&E) projects for secondary school students. From 2012 to 2015, 400 STEAM based Research and Education (R&E) projects have been conducted, and they were selected for this study. The major findings are as follows: First, Science (S) and Mathematics (M) were identified at a high rate in STEAM-based Research and Education (R&E) projects, and Art (A) was identified with the lowest rate. Second, 'STEM' type was identified at the highest rate among STEAM-integrated types. And there were not any trends as the years go by, but STEAM-integrated types, where three or more STEAM elements were integrated, were identified at an increasing rate. It means that students use STEAM elements in various ways gradually. Accordingly, the results suggest: The information material that guide how to utilize STEAM factors diversely should be provided for project participants to improve their creativity and problem-solving abilities.

An integrated gold microdisk electrode was constructed and modified with metal-porphyrin or metal-phthalocyanines for NO determination in biological media. Microanalysis of NO using square wave anodic stripping voltammetry in $1\;{\times}\;10^{-2}$ M $HClO_4$ was optimal when the accumulation potential was 0.1 V, frequency 100 Hz, and the scan rate was 200 mV/s. When the electrode was modified with metal-porphyrin or metal-phthalocyanines, the anodic peak currents of NO increased due to the catalytic oxidation of NO. In case of Fe(II)-phthalocyanine modified electrode, the peak currents remarkably increased and the sensitivity was high. The calibration curve had good linearity in the range from $3.6\;{\times}\;10^{-5}$ M to $7.2\;{\times}\;10^{-7}$ M, and the detection limit was $5.7\;{\times}\;10^{-7}$ M. For the structural stability and increased sensitivity, Fe(II)-phthalocyanine modified gold microdisk electrode coated with Nafion was applied to determination of NO released from cultured macrophase.
