  • Recently, the tendency for young people losing interest in science has accelerated. This tendency is remarkable for not only Japan but also some countries of Asia. It is thought that this tendency was brought from the decrease of the chance to watch the actual manufacturing activities, and the decrease of the real experience which children makes something in their childhood. In order to bring up the capable engineers on such a social background, making a product practice which promotes the understanding of the application of theory for manufacturing products is important in addition to study by the text book. In this study, some practical work materials for the lower grades in the college were developed. Integration of the developed materials and the course of study becomes an effective teaching method of the of subjects on a special field. Arranging this practical work on the learning process makes a high effect of the integrated practical work on the curriculum.

  • With the rapid successful deployment of WLANs worldwide in numerous hotspots for high data rate, wireless access for data services has created the need to integrate the Cellular Networks with WLAN Networks. The integrated wireless environment will provide the end user a much better service experience along with a single subscription and a single bill. In this paper we focus on inter-working approaches, which combine WLANs and Cellular Networks into an integrated wireless environment capable of ubiquitous access to data services and very high data rates in hotspots areas. We first list the key requirements which are currently being standardized within the 30PP for integration with WLANs networks. We discuss two inter-working architectures namely loosely coupled and tightly coupled This paper will detail the loosely coupled inter-working approach while briefly discussing the tightly coupled inter-working. Finally, we will conclude that the loosely coupled approach is evolutionary and less intrusive than the tightly coupled approach.

  • Creative thinking in education is a common assumption to be accomplish in this information age. Information education can contribute to build the ability to think creatively. The Author explored how information education conduces the creative thinking ability that is necessary to the development of independent and competent study for students themselves. The writer also expressed the integrated education makes students think synthetically and synthetic educational experience derives creative thinking. She based her arguments upon the theory of the psychology of memory and the Piaget's cognitive structure. To increase the effects of information education, it is necessary to integrate the curriculums and learning method of the information education and those of other areas of learning, i,e., languages, literatures, social sciences, sciences, mathematics, etc. Here, author asserted that the teaching of information skill within classroom curriculums for all subject areas can make the integrated effects on various classroom curriculums. On the basis of the findings of this study, the author recommended that every school needs to prepare enough books and other media for the students to drill information skill. Consequently, to build creative thinking ability for He students, librarians, classroom teachers and school principals who have influence on the information education, have to cooperate to initiate integrated information education for the student.

  • This plan was submitted as part of an invited competition for the provincial park planning of Yeonin Mountain, which was held by the Gyeonggi Innovation Corporation in November, 2006. The proposed site is located at Seungan-ri, Gapyung-eup, Gapyung-gun, Gyunggi-do and covers about $150,010m^2$. The main goal of this project is to "Suggest a New Park Paradigm" by shedding old ways of thinking about parks through an integrated development concept. Planning was approached as follows: First, providing an unique theme to the support facilities area of Yeonin Mountain Piovincial Park. To achieve this theme, the Seungan support facilities area was designated to be home to a Seven Colored Theme Garden, currently named the Native Wild-flower Garden, while the Baekdun facilities area is to be centered on a Self-loaming Forest Camp, which will give the chance of a hands-on wildlife experience. With these themes, which create recreational goals that will encourage not only tourism but education as well, the foundation was laid for a multi-purpose park paradigm. Second, Developing a Core Facility Zone. To accomplish the development of a core facility zone, park buildings will be arranged in accordance with an integrated building lay-out for easy access and use, and the facilities specified by design for the Seven Colored Theme Garden are provided for the newly prepared site. This will allow focus on the user's viewpoint instead of the view of the planner or of ease of maintenance.

  • This manuscript treats a new paradigm for the Korean health care system. We give an account of innovative health care delivery and payment models widely discussed in the contemporary US accountable care organization and coordinated care organization. In doing so, we explore a new health care model amenable to foreseeable changes to the health care system. We propose creating an integrated health care system in which the network of health care providers delivers coordinated and comprehensive care for enrolled patients residing within the geographic boundaries served by the provider network; providers may participate voluntarily in one or more networks and assume shared responsibility for patient care and cost; provider networks compete with each other based on cost and quality; and consumers are allowed to choose a network. We expect that the new paradigm will create a financially-sustainable system that assures quality of care and improves patient experience, minimizing the existing system-wide inefficiency through cross-network competition and within-network care coordination.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine how nurses recognize the need for supportive care of advanced cancer patients and to provide preliminary data on how adequate circumstances are to be set up and maintained in Korea. For the purpose of this study, we developed a preliminary questionnaire based on a focus group of 8 nurses run by a clinical psychologist and administered it to 228 nurses in a cancer hospital, over a 3-month period. Participants of this study were nurses with more than 5 years' experience of treating advanced cancer patients. The result showed that 207 respondents (90.8%) agreed that a smooth communication system for treatment taking into account the symptoms experienced by patients and rehabilitation issues was needed. More than 80% agreed that the items needed for an integrated management service for advanced cancer patients should include psychological support, an integrated pain and symptom management, and education for the patient and his or her caregivers. These results strongly suggest that a new system distinct from palliative care or hospices is needed for patients with advanced cancer in Korea.
